This is "Spruce Lane Cottage", our beautiful and fully equipped summer home in wonderful Lakeside P.E.I - If you love great golf and incredible golden sandy beaches, Lakeside is an ideal location for your trip to Prince Edward Island
This spacious cottage was built in 2006/07, it is very well appointed, offering all the conveniences you'll need for a wonderful and relaxing vacation. It has an attractive open plan design and has been tastefully decorated.
There is a large kitchen with breakfast bar/island overlooking a comfortable living/dining room area. We also have a large, covered porch facing the secluded, well treed lot. There is a front porch for relaxing in the sun in the afternoon.
There are 4 bedrooms and 1.5 baths with comfortable accommodations for up to eight people - The Master bedroom has a queen bed and 2 pc. en-suite powder room. There is a 2nd bedroom with a queen bed and 2 more bedrooms with two twin size beds in each.
Everyone's favourite feature is the large (21'x 10') screened porch for relaxing or outdoor entertaining. We have a big (4 burner) BBQ for outdoor grilling - It also has a side burner for cooking lobster and mussels.
Spectacular Lakeside Beach is within 750 metres and The Links at Crowbush Cove is 1 kilometre away by car. Lots of other great activities are situated conveniently close by. There is horseback riding just down the road, the Confederation Trail and Kayaking in nearby Morell. Charlottetown is 25 minutes away for sightseeing, dining, shopping and the Charlottetown airport.
In our opinion, Lakeside has the nicest and most secluded beach on the island - experience the picturesque sunsets from the sandy dunes and walk for well over a kilometre in either direction along the beautiful, sandy Gulf of St. Lawrence shoreline. The Lakeside area was featured prominently in the Regis and Kelly show in the Summer of 2010. They had a party on Lakeside Beach before they left the Island.
The Links at Crowbush Cove golf course is simply world class and a focal point of the area along with the Beach. There are so many other popular Island courses located within an easy drive of Lakeside that we can't list them all here - But if you call us, we have all the information you'll need to plan a great golf vacation (including ideas for green fee discounts).
As mentioned, the cottage is very well equipped. We even have a hand held shower outside to wash the salt and sand off when you get back from the beach on warm sunny days. We are kid and pet friendly - and this is a non-smoking cottage.

Why the Owner Chose Lakeside
We started coming to PEI in the summer of 2001 with our good friends who started visiting Lakeside a few years earlier. They had been urging us to join them. They bought a cottage in 2000 and we loved Lakeside so much, we started talking about buying a property our first visit there. In the summer of 2003, we purchased our property and started the building process by having the lot cleared the following year.
We spent a lot of time carefully picking out the "perfect" cottage plan for us and finally settled on this one. The cottage was framed up and was weather proof in 2007 - and was finally completed in 2008.
Lakeside is an incredible vacation spot and we love our little cottage community - especially our wonderful neighbours who quickly accepted us and became very good and close friends.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Our property is quite secluded and very well treed. But all of our friends are close by. The Lakeside area is wonderfully quiet, very friendly and the beach is too incredible for words. You can't help but fall in love with this part of PEI. The Links at Crowbush Cove is considered by many to be the best - and is certainly the most famous golf course on the Island. It is widely considered one of Canada's select few "destination" courses - it is truly the crown jewel of PEI’s fabulous collection of golf courses.
Golf Digest gives this wonderful Tom McBroom designed course 4.5 stars and claims it's "Outstanding-Plan your next vacation around it". Crowbush is the crown jewel of PEI's great courses
Lakeside's most beautiful feature is the gold coloured ribbon of sandy beach and the large dunes lining it. Enjoy a swim, or walk along the beautiful shoreline for miles.
Trail riding through the woods and along the beaches...a great vacation experience.
The beach has a sandy bottom and lots of sandbars. You can play in the waves, or enjoy the calm, clear water (depending on the wind and the weather conditions)

We live in the Toronto area (Aurora ON). We have 3 kids and we all love the cottage lifestyle. Our kids have grown up going to the Culley family cottage on the Moon River in Bala, Muskoka - and most of their childhood coming to Lakeside in PEI for a week each summer.

Hi Rob, Hope you are having a great time on the island. Jon and I wanted to let you know that we had a really great time at your cottage and in Lakeside - what a great spot you have there and your cottage is wonderful. We would really like to return next summer for a two week period again. Hi Rob and Chris, we had a great time. Our first visit to PEI since I worked there in 1998. Saw old friends and even got out lobster fishing on the last day of the season. We will keep you in mind if we return to PEI next year and will tell our friends about your "home away from home"...

.." Lakeside is a fantastic spot (not crowed and with a beach to rival Cavendish). All cottages should be as great as yours. We found everything in working order and tidy. ...The family had fun playing games behind the cottage. Your TV and Telephone came in handy... Everyone enjoyed "Rob's Spa" at the side of the house (hot water to rinse off your feet.... how civilized!)"...
