Lovely stay, again!
(From In-house Guest Book) Rosemary & Fran, We had a lovely stay, again, (our 3rd time) at your Sweet Suite @ Peaceful Waters. We had great weather! Cool evenings, partly cloudy days. Had 2 great days at the lake! Visited the Winslow Homer exhibit @ the Clark, saw Mark Morris @ Tanglewood, “Southern Comfort” (musical) @ Barrington Stage, hiked @ Pleasant Valley – a sweet little gem of a place. Had dinner with friends. The Berkshires are (is) magical! Fondly,

House on a beautiful clean lake with patio&grill!
House on a beautiful clean lake with patio&grill!
We had a great 4th of July in the "Sweet Suite!" The guest house is attached to the main house where the friendly helpful owners live. You have your own private entrance and private patio where you can grill out or just relax on the swing or the lounge chair. The lake is maybe 100 feet away, and you can see it from the patio and the small sunroom. There is a dock for swimming or boating, and the water is very clean and clear. We also saw lots of fireworks on the lake- really cool! The suite is on the small side but has everything you could possibly need. I thought from the pictures that there was no stove, but there are 2 portable electric burners that work great- we made omelets in the morning that turned out delicious! Also has a dishwasher, two AC's, tons of kitchen stuff for cooking, awesome coffee maker, great shower, extra towels just for the beach, DVDs to watch, etc. We went swimming twice (perfectly warm, clean, and refreshing!!), and rented a kayak down the street and paddled out to an island in the middle of the lake and swam from there. We also grilled out twice, and relaxed on the comfy couch and watched TV in the AC at night. There is also some amazing hiking nearby- Greylock mountain, the tallest mountain in Massachusetts is a 15 min drive. We hiked 13 miles, saw waterfalls beautiful open pastures, and incredible mountain peak views of the Berkshires. You can also do much shorter hikes to see those things, or drive to the top of the mountain if you're not a hiker. Overall a great stay! The owners are so sweet and helpful, but will also give you as much privacy as you need. Also the price was very reasonable for this amazing location! We loved our stay here and will definitely come back the next time we are in the Berkshires. Julie & Mike

The guest house is both charming and comfortable. The house offers the guest absolute privacy and a very short walk to the beautiful lake. All the small, thoughtful things that the owners have put into the apartment make the entire experience a joy.

The suite is great! The bed is very comfortable and it was easy to cook and get on the internet. The hosts are very nice and respectful and willing to work with you. We watched a beautiful Christmas Eve sunset from the sun porch! We had a good deal of snow while we were there so we took advantage of the garage. We had no trouble getting out in the snow! I will stay here again!

Quiet surroundings conducive to peaceful thoughts
Dear Rosemary and Francis, We so enjoyed all the comforts of home in your nicely decorated honeymoon apartment. You have thought of everything! We enjoyed the quiet surroundings conducive to peaceful thoughts, many moments of quiet meditation and a stilling of the inner soul. We hiked at Mt. Greylock a couple days, enjoyed our kayaks on the lake and had a wonderful visit with our little grandson. We also enjoyed your flower garden, watching the chipmunks and the hummingbirds. It has been a memorable 44th Anniversary weekend! Thank you :-)

Moose, mountain, Pissarro, Pontoosuc and more. ...
(From our in-house Guest Book) Dear Fran and Rosemary, Enjoyed our 2nd stay this week in your wonderful cottage! We could not count all the moose, but, so thoroughly enjoyed finding them here and there, throughout the cottage. Although there was a lot of rain, we did a lot, including the Pissarro exhibit at the Clark, Jacob's Pillow, Finian's Rainbow (at Berkshire Theatre Festival) & 2 quick trips to Albany and Manchester, VT. Even managed to hike at Mt. Greylock & enjoyed swimming & floating in Lake Pontoosuc. The ducks are a delight! Thanks, again, for creating this warm & welcoming home away from home! Fondly,
