What a house. The view was great. It is close to everything in Door County. The 2nd story restaurant was very delicous. The Summer Kitchen is always the place to go for bread and soup and Cherry Sparkle. The owner was fantastic to work with. I would recommend this and will to everyone I know. We were on motorcycles and it was a great ride through the woods to get here. So close to everything. Forget the hotels. This beats them all. The house was spotless. The beds are so comfortable I didn't even miss mine. Great at night for chatting with the friends in the spacious living room.

My family and I (8 of us in total) rented this home to celebrate our mother's 60th birthday. The house suited our needs perfectly. Everything was clean and in great shape. Plenty of room to either all be together or, at the same time, go off for some quiet reading time. Having chosen an unusually cold weekend for September, the fireplace was so welcome. The owners provided everything we needed for the stay. The location is great. Quiet solitude, a nice wooded deck, a great area for a walk/run yet close to main road. We will definitely look to use this house again. Oh, and the mattresses were great!

For anyone looking for a house to rent for a family event, friends weekend away or anyone else looking to just get away from it all, this place is unbelievable! This house is located privately in the woods with really no other people around you that you can hear or see. It is minutes from downtown Ephraim and only a couple more to Fish Creek. The house is set up so conveniently that even if you have a larger group (8-10 people) you have plenty of space in every social area (deck, screened porch, kitchen, living room) to all be in the same place at one time interacting. The owners have done such a great job making sure that it is set up for everyone to enjoy and not so that some have to be in one room and others in another. We had a great time cooking in the kitchen, playing games in the living room and socializing on the screened porch. We also enjoyed having all the extra space for storage of all of our things (extra coolers, etc.). The property comes with almost everything you would need for a weekend away. We were often surprised that some things were there, provided by the property and its owners. I have rented other places around the country and in Door County and this is by far the nicest I have ever stayed in. Our group would for sure recommend this home to anyone looking to have a great weekend in Door County. We are mostly likely coming back next year!

I just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed our week at your home. Our family enjoyed it so much. My favorite part is the screened porch -- actually we loved everything. We had a beautiful fire on Friday. I love the kitchen. Thank you again.

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our week at your house. Actually we enjoyed everything - the screened porch was my favorite. We had a fire. Extra thanks for the Starbucks coffee and the flowers -- a wonderful unexpected touch!

Eight of us stayed in this home last weekend. It has many amenities, including Starbucks coffee at no additional cost!! We had a slight housekeeping problem. I called the owner, and it was immediately corrected. This is a great spot for a relaxing, fun vacation in a beautiful part of the country. I highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time at the house. It held 9 of us comfortably. The furniture and overall condition of the house was excellent. It is centrally located for exploring all of Northern Door County.

We vacationed in this immaculate log home over Memorial Day weekend. I highly recommend this listing and the Ephraim area. Ephraim is beautiful and within walking distance of this home. Thanks for a great vacation!
Owner response:Thank you, Robin, for your comments. I am glad you and your family had a good time. Please check out the June 2007 Midwest Living Magazine, which has photos of Ephraim and names it "The Best Smalltown Get-Away in the Midwest."

The Petersons stayed at our home this past month and had nothing but accolades about its charm and accessability to all of Door County. Four couples stayed at our home with plenty of room to spare. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances. The sun porch is a great place to sit with a glass of wine. The Petersons really liked the fireplace, which is two stories tall.

I highly recommend this rental. It's in the woods, but lots of sunshine, big deck and sun porch. Privacy, but walking distance to Ephraim. Right in the heart of Door County!
