  Our stay here was awesome!!! Pictures give you a general idea, but seeing it in person was more than I ever dreamed. I loved the ground floor access and everything about this condo, very clean, nicely decorated. I can't say anything negative about this place. Bill was always very friendly and helpful. And the view of the bay is AMAZING!!! I would stay here on future trips to Destin and recommend this to anyone, you will not be disappointed!!!!

  We stayed here during New Years for 5 days, the condo is WAY prettier in person than the pictures if you can believe that! My fiance and I have been to many vacations and I would put this one on the top of the list right next to Atlantis in the Bahamas which I thought would be hard to beat!! The hot tub on the deck was a great escape after a long day and it was just what we needed for our five days away. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION... everything we needed was so close, the crab trap/the swamp/blackpearl/boardwalk was right across the street, gas station to your left,Fudpuckers to your right, and just about 2 miles away from McGuires Irish Pub (which everyone must try!!!5 stars) The owner is very great to deal with, if you need ANYTHING, he is a text or phone call away! He was sweet enough to come by and turn the heat and lights on for us because we were arriving on a rainy cold night. The master bed was amazing unlike most condos that you get stuck with a cheap mattress and bedding, that is not the case here! I love to sleep with a fan by the bed and forgot mine at home but guess what, they had that too in the condo. Anything you needed the condo came fully equipped. I could go on and on about how lovely this place was but I think everyone should see it for their selves!!! :) 5 stars!!!!! Kenna and Jay!

  We just returned from our fourth stay at Destin West (third time renting from Bill and Shelley) and it was nothing short of a perfect vacation. The condo was in great shape: beautiful kitchen with everything stocked as needed, gorgeous master suite, clean bathrooms, and large patio. All the usual amenities were working well except for a couple days when the lazy river was closed due to an algae problem (it was fixed by the time we left). Our family didn't mind at all with so much else to do. The weather was sunny and 80 degrees everyday except for one. By the end of the week all three of our kids were crying because they didn't want to leave! We love doing Disney World and taking cruises, but a week at the beach is hard to beat. We were able to truly relax and enjoy our family. Thanks to Bill and Shelley for being great hosts! See you in 2013!

  The complex and pools are unbelievable. It is quiet and clean. The unit was large and roomy with nice furnishings. It too was very clean. It would be hard to find another Complex and Unit to match these.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

  We.always enjoy this region but this condo was the best we have ever had. The condo was better than the pictures. So often you are not happy when you arrive at the location. The bunk room was great. We loved the large size of all of the condo but the bunk room was a special surprise. So often the bunk rooms are simply a hole in the wall. The owners were amazing and we will be using this condo for many visits to come. We would very highly suggest that you give this unit a try. The variety of types of amnesties were the best. The Lazy River was great. The location of the unit was wonderful . Everything was awesome. Can't wait to return.

  Rented this condo for a week in summer 2012. Here are both the negatives and positives I experienced. Positive: 1. Location next to pool/lazy river makes it easy for kids- you can easily see them from the back porch without having to walk down there. 2. Condo was well furnished with everything you need to cook plus games for the kids. Negative: 1. Location to the beach was not what I expected. You need to walk through the parking lot, take an elevator to the skywalk floor, walk across the skywalk, take another elevator to the ground floor and from there walk for about 5 minutes to be at the beach. Furthermore, once you arrive at the beach, you have to either rent a beach chair or walk another 5 minutes down the shore to obtain a view of the ocean that is not blocked by chairs/umbrellas for rent. We found this to be such an annoyance that we only went to the beach twice during our entire stay. 2. Okaloosa island restaurants are very touristy. This is not necessarily a negative against the condo, but all of the restaurants that were around us were overpriced with below average food. You have to drive into Destin to get a decent meal. 3. This is not a ground floor condo like we were expecting. You need to take an elevator to get to the "first" floor. One last thing to note: our son left his iTouch at the condo and the cleaning crew found it after we requested they look for it. The owner promptly mailed the iTouch back to us (Positive!) but failed to tell us that they included our deposit check as well. We gave the package directly to our son and thought nothing of it. After 6 weeks had passed and no check we emailed and learned what had happened. So, a new check was written to us, but minus a fee for stop payment on the other check written. I found this disappointing because they did not tell us to expect the deposit check with the package. Overall, I would not recommend this condo to other renters: for the price you pay we did not see the value in it.

  Owner response: Dear Valued Guest, I just read your online review and must admit I was not only shocked but disappointed as well in that almost all of your review had nothing to do with our condo but with a stop payment fee, the complex or local area restaurants. Additionally, I had no idea you were unhappy. As a matter of fact, you even emailed me after check out saying quote: "Bill, Just checking out, had a great time. One small issue, the queen bed closet door came off the track and needs to be fixed. Our oldest son lost his itouch if the cleaning crew happens to find one it looks just like a phone. Other than that no other issues to report. Please send deposit to following address". We promptly responded by fixing the closet door and located your son's Itouch which we immediately mailed back along with your deposit refund to the address you provided us in your "no issues to report" email. The Itouch and refund check were mailed to you....not your son. I'm sorry that we eventually had to place a stop payment on the check but had no alternative given the circumstances. Regarding our condo not being "ground floor"...all of the Lanai condos advertise as ground floor because there are no units below...only a parking garage. Most guests spend a majority of their time out on the private patio with just a few steps down to the grass and amenities rather than using the front door to the elevators. Most people recognize the convenience and have no problem with the advertising "ground floor" as it provides a visual perspective of our location. Finally, it's true that sometimes you can't please someone even with your best efforts as in this case. However, our condo has 14 five-star reviews for future guests to preview and we think that speaks volumes. Bill

  The condo was awesome and very comfortable. It was in the perfect location and on the floor level so that we could watch the kids without them having to go up and down the elevator. The bay was clear and the kids loved going crabbing every day and night. Also, the pool and lazy river was right near our condo and we could just jump right in. LOVED IT!!! Having our own hot tub was awesome too! I would definately reccomend this unit and hopefully we will be able to return very soon!

  We had a wonderful time on our vacation. The condo was clean, very accomodating, and a great location to the pools and lazy river. We had everything we could ever need right there at the condo. Great experience! Would love to go back!

  WE STAYED AT THIS UNIT AND LOVED IT BECAUSE IT HAD EVERYTHING WE COULD ASK FOR .THE LOCATION WAS GREAT FOR US AND OUR CHILDREN. IT WAS VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE. THE KIDS WERE NEVER BORED. GREAT VIEWS ALSO. SO MUCH TO DO AND RIGHT AT OUR FINGERTIPS. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND THIS UNIT TO ANYONE. THE OWNERS WERE SO NICE AND EVERYTHING WAS READY WHEN WE PULLED IN. PRIVATE HERON POOL WAS RIGHT AT OUR FINGERTIPS AS WELL AS THE LAZY RIVER. JUST A GREAT LOCATION AT THE RESORT. WENT IN TO DESTIN AND ATE AT MCGUIRES IRISH PUB AND THAT WAS REALLY GOOD.DEFINATELY A 5 STAR RESTRAUNT. RENTED A PONTOON BOAT FROM BOOGIES AND WENT TO CRAB ISLAND FOR A DAY. THAT IS A MUST DO IN DESTIN. WORTH EVERY PENNY. WHEN WE RETURN, WE KNOW WHO TO CALL AND WHERE TO STAY.
