From high mountains and forests to marvelous rural churches to the ruins of ancient cities to traditional artisans, Abruzzo offers many rewards. Though Italians traditionally think of Abruzzo as a remote, mountainous region, its eastern border is marked by vast sandy beaches stretching along the Adriatic north and south of Pescara. Venture west from here and you will indeed soon enter the hills, which rise quickly to become the famous Abruzzo mountains, dotted with some of the least visited hill towns in Italy.

Located on a hill in the countryside at 6 miles from the seaside and 20 miles from the mountains, the farm holiday centre "La Vigna di Ranco" is the perfect place to thoroughly enjoy the beautiful and welcoming Central Italian region.

Nearby is the newly-designated Maiella National Park, along with several regional parks. Flora and fauna abound in these protected areas, where thick forests and flowering meadows give way to barren high plains and snow-capped granite peaks.
A little further, you’ll enjoy Abruzzo's jewel, the Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo, a haven for wild animals, trees, flowers and travel-weary tourists.

If you look for a relaxing day in the sun, natural sandy or stony beaches are an easy round-trip from the La Vigna di Ranco. Or you can reach out to the beautiful Isole Tremiti, an archipelago of five little islands off the coast near Gargano. Its wonderful coast with fjords and caves are the best to explore by kayak or in boats hired from local fishermen.

"La Vigna di Ranco" is a residential complex newly restructured, with 5 apartments in two independent buildings. It can accommodate 2 to 6//7 people in 1 or 2-bedrooms units. All units have full kitchen, patio and/or balcony with wonderful view on the hillside. A vegetable garden, herbs and fruit trees surround the premises.

The closest airport is in Pescara. Some airlines offer direct flights from JFK and from Toronto, Canada. The airport of Fiumicino (Rome) is at about 140 miles.
