Beautiful, tranquil, serene and awesome fishing and relaxing. Our week was spent watching our son who's 13 transition from fishing to swimming to eating to swimming to eating to fishing to sleeping like a log! Estil & Carol were wonderful and ensured we had everything we needed and directed us on a few places to find things locally. Our dog, Mavis, took turns falling asleep in sun and shade and barking at boats cruising by in the channel. My wife, Mary spent her time reading, cooking and relaxing, which was the whole point of coming. Henry Lake was nirvana, quiet, beautiful and a perfect destination. As for me, I fished. No, that part never ended *smile* :) From bluegills to bass to walleye, we caught something (even a turtle or two) with any kind of bait or lure I tried. The pontoon was perfect for fishing round the lake and an evening cruise with the family. Thank You for the great vacation and those considering this rental should know it's clean, neat and comfortable with everything you could want. Sincerely, Doug, Mary, Liam and Mavis.

We stayed at this cottage over the 4th of July week. The cottage was very clean and comfy and had everything we needed (blender, crock pot, linens, etc). Though, I must say the property is the best part of the rental. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the magnificent view. I have family close by and they all loved visiting us at the lake. The owners were readily available if we needed anything, but respected our privacy.

I'm ashamed to admit that I was tempted to forget to write a trip report - when you find something this wonderful, you want to keep it to yourself! Our hosts were wonderful - we felt as though dear friends were allowing us to use their beloved getaway. The cottage was neat and clean and just perfect for our family of four. It sits on the corner of a quiet lake and canal with boat access to a larger all-sports lake. (Mapquest does not show the smaller lake or canal it sits on - so don't get worried if you don't see a lake on the map.) Our children were nonstop - fishing, swimming and enjoying the outside. I was amazed that it took them three days to ask to watch a little television! We especially enjoyed the "nightlife" - sitting by the campfire watching the fireflies' light show and listening to the symphony of nearby frogs. If you want to truly get away from it all - this is the place for you (though there is shopping, golf, etc. not too far away if you're interested.) We had a wonderful, wonderful vacation that our family will remember and talk about for years to come.
