Wonderful Weekend Getaway

We decided to “get away” for a fall weekend and chose New Buffalo, MI, as our destination. We spent quite a bit of time online checking out various lodging options and decided to rent this home...and we are happy that we did! There were seven adults in our party so we appreciated the spaciousness of the home. The house is located in a residential area just a couple blocks from the downtown area, but the wooded lot provides privacy and wonderful views of nature (the color changing of the leaves was beautiful at this time of year). The weather was unseasonably warm so we spent most of the time checking out local restaurants and attractions; but when we were back at the house, we enjoyed the comfort of the screened-in porch and large open kitchen/family room area. We would recommend this home to others…it is clean, spacious, and close to many area attractions. While the guys in our group golfed at Whittaker Woods, the ladies went to the Saturday Farmer’s Market at Skip’s. All of us tried our luck at the Four Winds Casino (approx. 10-minute drive). We stopped by the beach several times to walk in the sand and watch the boats come and go. We also enjoyed listening to the bands at the annual Harvest Wine Festival (food, drink, bands and some craft exhibitors). While there, we dined at The Stray Dog, Redamak’s, and Jimmy’s….and of course we had to stop at Oink’s before we left town! Thank you to the owners for opening your home to guests and especially Julie who responded quickly to my email questions. We very much enjoyed our weekend getaway.

We recently rented this home for a golf outing. With a group of 9, I thought it would be a little tough accomodating us, but the house was perfect. When our group arrived we were absolutely amazed on how much room and how well maintained the home was. The location was great for the casino and downtown area. If the weather was a little better the weekend would have been more than perfect! The owners were fabulous and it would be my pleasure to rent this home again. Looking forward to another golf outing!

The home was very spacious, clean and well maintained. We were there for a family wedding and it was terrific to catch up with relatives after the reception in the comfort of this beautiful home. The photos accurately reflect the home. We would recommend it to a friend.

My family and I stayed in this beautiful Ravine Retreat last July and had a fabulous time! We have been vacationing in New Buffalo for the past five years and this is the first vacation rental that has met our family's needs...it fit our family of 10 (6 adults and 4 children) perfectly!!! We look forward to staying there again this summer!

We have stayed at the Ravine Retreat 2 years in a row and it can't be beat. The location is perfect as it is within walking distance to downtown New Buffalo and Lake Michigan as well as a short car ride to the Four Winds and Blue Chip casinos if you are gamblers. We really enjoy eating at Jimmy's as the food is great and so is the wait staff (ask for Jamie and tell him a Badger fan sent you). Michigan State lost to Iowa when we were there and of course we had to rub it in ;-) Anyway, the house is spacious and the pictures show it like it is. The owner is very responsive and a pleasure to work with. We will definitely stay here again.

This house was perfect for two grandmas, two parents and one child, plus there was room for more! Very close to downtown New Buffalo and a good walk or very short drive to the beach. We enjoyed the porches and the master suite was great.

We stayed here for our Moms Weekend. We had 7 moms (plus 3 babies) and everyone had private sleeping space with comfort. That was the biggest plus for us. Easy walking distance to downtown shops but it felt like we were living in the woods with the ravine out the porch/deck and dining room windows. So much storage I felt like moving in. So close to the highway and casino. Definitely recommended.

We came to New Buffalo for a family reunion and needed a large home to sleep, entertain and relax in. This house was perfect because it was large enough to be together or separate. Loved the bonus room and the master bedroom closet. The walk in closet was used as a nursery for our twin toddlers. Because it had air conditioning and a window it was like another bedroom! House was clean, beautifully appointed and owners were a pleasure to work with. Will come back!!!

We came up for a couple of days with our young-adult son and two of his friends, and just couldn't get over the amount of space this house has to offer. Not only are there the four separate bedrooms, there's also a charming upper-level playroom over the garage. (Our kids regressed and spent a lot of time playing with the Legos up there.) Then there's the screened-in porch leading to an open deck -- perfect for reading a book -- and the family room with games and TV downstairs, great for keeping late hours while other people are sleeping. The neighborhood is ultra-quiet but just a short block off the main road, where the shops and restaurants begin. We had a very restful time getting away from it all and -- whenever we needed to -- each other.

We stayed in the house for 6 days and had a wonderful time. The house is very new, spacious and clean. There was plenty of room and amenities. The town is great and we have fallen in love with New Buffalo. The beach was perfect for the kids. I would definately recommend the house to anyone wanting to visit New Buffalo and plan to come back next year.
