Open space, peaceful, private. Rather than crowds, mega-resorts, and glitzy nightlife, you will have breathing room and easy access to water and wildlife. This is Cape San Blas! "Cape Ann" sits low in the landscape blending in with the surrounding environment creating a sense of unity with nature.
Our home is in the gated section known as Secluded Dunes, adjacent to the 2,500 acre St. Joseph Peninsula State Park - with endless sand and that step back in time feeling. It borders the state park designated wilderness preserve where a variety of animals and birds share the space. Part of the charm and fun of "Cape Ann" is that it is not too fancy, too upscale, too perfect - but, offering a comfortable and welcoming essence.
The west side of the property opens to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico displaying a wide beach of sugar white sand and sparkling emerald water. Giant sea turtles often select the cape for nesting. Most every day you will see dolphins playing off shore and pelicans, sandpipers, and sea gulls sharing the neighborhood. This is the perfect spot to watch the sun drop silently into the gulf. A short time later you will have a wonderful stargazing opportunity and may see shrimp boats at work off shore.
The gulf side of "Cape Ann" features a spacious screened porch.
A covered porch runs across the front with a piney woods view. Deer are often seen munching on the lush vegetation. This is our personal favorite spot for that first cup of coffee and re-connecting with quiet.
In '09 a new Samsung washing machine and KitchenAid Built-in Ice Maker were installed, in '10 free United States long distance calling provided, '11 new KitchenAid dishwasher added.
"Cape Ann" is a great choice for families who value serenity and natural beauty. It is convenient (ALL ON ONE LEVEL) and inviting with simplicity and ease. When the time is right for a quiet retreat, you have found the place!
"Cape Ann" is SMOKEFREE, NO PETS ALLOWED and has an Age Restriction. No reservations accepted for vacationing students or singles under age 25 unless accompanied by adult legal guardian or parent during entire stay. Chaperoned groups not accepted. Restrictions apply regarding number of people that may accompany parent or legal guardian. Our home is on a Sun. to Sun. schedule for Peak Season. If you need a Sat. to Sat. rental, we recommend "Cape Refreshment" #250217.

The best testimonial is when the question is asked, "Would you stay there again". We have leased Cape Ann several times! With over 20 years experience vacationing in ocean front homes in the SGI / CSB area, we know what works best for our family. Cape Ann certainly delivers in all aspects: secluded, comfortable, convenient, great ocean views, and beautiful beaches. We'll be there this summer and as many more as possible!!

We absolutely loved our stay at your home on the cape. It was perfect and just what we were looking for. Although it was cloudy and rainy many of the days we were there, we still had a wonderful time. Watching my children play on the beach will be a memory I replay in my mind time and time again! And, it was so easy to do as your home is in such a fantastic location! As for eating out, we didn't. We cooked at home every day and night. The kitchen had everything we needed for an amazing shrimp boil and seafood feast. We bought fresh seafood from "13 mile" in Apalach and it was wonderful. We also went deep sea fishing with captain Dave Mullis (spelling) and caught a bunch of Spanish mackerel that we then took home and cooked. The folks at the Shell Shack in St. Joe cleaned the fish for us. We had a wonderful time! Saw tons of dolphins and the kids loved it. We spent hours beach combing and found so many beautiful shells. The sand there is just perfect, white, and sugary under our feet. Finally, the surf was just right for our children who are 6, 7 and 10. We didn't have to worry they would get swept out to sea. It was warm and very friendly water. Thank you again for renting your home to us. It is lovely and very well furnished. As I said, it was exactly what we were looking for. Peace, quiet, and a perfect setting for family time.

Property is secluded and quiet. Photos and description are a good portrayal. Its a long haul for groceries and restaurants. The house was clean. Owners were accommodating and helpful. Shore fishing was okay, water still a little cool in March. Hooked up with a charter for a boat load of spanish mackerel. There is no fish cleaning station at this house. I would go there again and would recommend to others. Loved the raw oysters at TripleTail, Indian Pass, Boss', Uncle Joe's

Our family had yet a wonderful beach vacation on Cape San Blas. This was our 5th stay at Cape Ann, which we consider the perfect beach house for our group. My husband and I spent 4 days enjoying long morning walks, beach combing and watching perfect sunsets. Our 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren joined us for the last part of the week. We purchased local seafood and had a great time cooking meals together in Cape Ann's spacious and well appointed kitchen. The floor plan is perfect for crawling babies or toddlers, no stairs to constantly monitor! The beach right outside the door makes it super easy to manage frequent runs back to the house for forgotten toys or snacks. Five year old grandson loved watching the dolphins play just feet from where he stood on the beach. Thanks for sharing such a great treasure. Can't wait to return next year!

If you are looking for the getaway of a lifetime, then start here. This is a destination. Once here, you really don't want to leave! Experience nature, powder-white sand, secluded walks, and sunsets that inspire. Your hosts/owners have thought of all the comforts of home. You will find spacious and comfortable bedrooms, living area, porches, and a very well equipped kitchen--I just love the under counter ice maker--cant have enough ice at the beach! Cape Ann, tucked into a dune, you feel like you are part of the environment. Fishing, crabbing, shelling, exploring, or just sitting with your favorite beverage on the edge of the surf...this is it! Just there, and missing it already. We have been coming to the Cape for over 20 years. The hospitality and care of the property shown by the hosts/owners is remarkable. We recommend the School of Fish restaurant in Windmark Beach, if you have to stray away from the Cape...you can still see the sunset over the Cape from the restaurant, while there.

Returning to work after a week at the beach is very difficult! We had a wonderful time at "Cape Ann" on Cape San Blas. The house was roomy, comfortable, and felt like home. The kitchen was well supplied, and we had plenty of room for our family meals. The beach was terrific. We enjoyed morning walks on the beach into the nearby state park and often saw many beautiful and interesting shells; and the sunsets were spectacular! One morning we had a "visitor"--a sea turtle made her nest within 40 yards of our beach canopy! We also enjoyed fishing and exploring in St. Joseph Bay in the state park just minutes from "Cape Ann". My daughter and I took in an evening horseback ride on the beach on the southern end of the cape, and we had success trawling in the gulf for king mackerel. The directions to and description of "Cape Ann" provided by Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Stephens were very accurate and helpful, and the went out of their way to make us feel welcome in their home. I also note that they promptly processed a refund of our damage deposit. We look forward to our next visit!

My family and I arrived to Cape Ann on July 4th, 2010 and could not be happier with our stay. We stayed in this home with our 3 children- 13, 3, and 1 and also my sister. The home was stocked with everything we could have possibly needed, as well as beach chairs, umbrellas, toys, floats...The kitchen was stocked with everything needed and the home was very clean. Upon entering the house the view was AMAZING! We had many dinners out on the patio over looking the beautiful beach and sand dunes. No need to leave the home at all! The pictures we took from Cape Ann were amazing! Martha and Joyce were so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable in their home. Thank you so much for your hospitality...This will not be our last trip to "Cape Ann"!
