This was a great property! It was exceptionally clean, well appointed, very spacious and was very easy to find based upon the directions provided. We used the house for a "girl's get away" and were thrilled. The owners are easy to work with and honest and the house was fantastic. I'd definitely stay here again, without hesitation!

This is the third time we have stayed at this place and my group loves it! In fact we have come to call this OUR Grand Lake home!!!! The location is great (although the steep muddy hill can be a trick to navigate), the accommodations are great, and the price is great! My only MINOR constructive criticism would be that if you offer the tremendous amenities that you do (like a humidifier) you offer enough for everyone to have one...... we all had to fight over that humidifier!

We (3) adults stayed here for Presidents weekend. This home is beautiful! It has everything you need to have a relaxing fun filled stay in Grand Lake. Love the garage, the morning temperatures were in the single digits each morning of our stay and it was nice to have the truck warm from being inside. Incredible kitchen with everything you need.. The bedrooms were just comfy and cozy, beds were a dream to sleep on. Firepleace just adds so much to the home. Went and celebrated in town with the Flight for Life Poker Run contestants, wonderful bunch of locals and visitors. We have stayed at some Homeaway, VRBO rentals before, and this has been the nicest one for us. We will be booking again for a summer visit, and bringing the grand kids, and great grandparents. Thank you Mike and Carole for everything, your home is amazing.

Had a great weekend at this house in Grand Lake. The house was perfect for our party of 10 - plenty of room to spread out and enough bedrooms for everyone. We had three generations and had great times sharing meals, watching the playoffs, and playing games around the large table. Snowmobiling at On the Trail Rentals was great and near by. Even though it was January, we were actually able to sit out on the south-facing balcony one day in the sun. Carole and Mike were great to work with and quick to respond to our questions with answers and suggestions. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we could have wanted and beds were very comfortable. Overall, a beautful house and a weekend to remember. Exactly what we were looking for. We'd love to return another time.

I stayed here for a boys' weekend with some college buddies. The place was exactly as advertised--a very nice log-cabin style house, overlooking the town of Grand Lake, about 2 minutes from the west entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. The owners were helpful in answering questions and addressing concerns. Lots of beds, high def TV, and poker chips--good stuff.

I can't say enough good things about the Bennett's house in Grand Lake and its view of both Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Reservoir. It is spectacular! The house is new and spotless and, for the eight of us, there was room to spare. We went horseback riding, ATVing, to Winter Park for the Alpine Slide, across Trail Ridge through Rocky Mountain National Park to Estes, played miniature golf and tried our hand at target shooting. Another time, we will try the rafting on the river and the boating on Grand Lake. We would wholehearted recommend this property to other people, however, I am tempted to keep it a secret!

Eight adults and one very entertaining 11 year old shared Mike and Carol's house this past weekend while participating in the annual Flight for Life snowmobile poker run fundraiser. The fact that we all had private spaces, fantastic beds (perfect after a long day on the snow!), great bathrooms, and a fully equiped kitchen made our weekend very comfortable and the epic snow made it spectacular! We rode directly from the house to the trails and in to town for dinner which was not only very convenient but also a ton of fun..... not many places in this country you can pull up to a great restaurant on your snowmobile! As owners of sleds parking was difficult for us though -- if you have your own sleds and trailers you too will most likely have to park the trailer in town and transport gear via sled as the road up to the house is very steep and the driveway is very narrow. Since we had 8 sleds we didn't even have room for one truck let alone 3-4 and 3-4 trailers. I guess having such great snow is good - and not so good! Everyone in our group agrees that this is a great place for groups such as ours! Couples will find that the house has the comfort and upgrades that the ladies like, the guys think it is really cool to not have to use a trailer for a couple days (and they can grill steaks on the gas grill!), and the kids have a fun "bunk room" complete with it's own entrance and fireplace......... All in all we will very likely stay here again! (Price is very reasonable too! -- Mike, Please don't raise your prices just because you are getting this rave review!)

You cannot go wrong with this rental. The house is really neat, exceptionally clean, very well equipped, and it seems brand new. There were elk wandering through the property -- just a super location. There were 4 couples in our party, and it worked out perfectly for us -- very comfortable. Not only would we recommend it, we want to reserve it for next year. The owners were very efficient and professional.

This is a BEAUTIFUL mountain home with everything you could possibly need - including the spectacular view. Clean, comfortable, well appointed, beds better than ours at home, and a location that offers so much within a close distance. Our only problem was that we had to return home!! We could have stayed there forever! We definitely will return!!

The house was even better than we expected. Very clean with everything you could need. Great views, very quiet but also very convenient for town and the lakes. The lakes are great for fishing, boating and jet skiing. We particularly enjoyed a rodeo in Fraser and a horse treck with Sombrero. Being right next to the Rocky Mountain park was also great. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this house to anyone (the only downside is that it is 5,000 miles away from where we live!)

The 6 of us(my family) stayed at The Office on the Lake from July 7 thru July 19th. We are 3 adult couples. There was so much to see and do that we could have stayed all month. This was one of the best vacations we have had. Definitely at the top of our list. The house was wonderful, it was so comfortable, the views were beautiful, everything that you can think of and more for anyone who loves to cook. The beds were so comfortable that when I awoke in the morning I was rested and ready to go morning till night. With 3 couples the three bedrooms with 3 bathrooms was great. Each couple had there own space. Even though we are family, it's also nice to have privacy. We went horse back riding to Cascade Falls(a 4 hour ride). AWESOME VIEWS!!! We went thru the Rocky Mountains more than once either in the morning or at the end of the day and we felt like we were in an animal kingdom. We drove Harley's the first time thru and this is definitely one of the best ways to see Rocky Mountain National Forest. We spent some time exploring Estes Park(a must see for the shopper and the restaurants) to many to name! We went boating on Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake which are surrounded by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. AMAZING!!! We went White Water Rafting. If you go you have to go with Liquid Descent. THE BEST!!! We hiked to Adams Falls which is a 1/4 mile leisurely walk for those who are just looking for a nice place to see but not too far, or you can continue to find many views high up in the mountains and come across which I can't remember the name but a lake that you won't find in too many places. Everywhere you go you will find and see beauty and animals in nature. Walking into the town is a treat! Restaurants and shops and the old town spirit. Hummingbirds everywhere you turn. They are incredible!!! Ice cream shops where you can sit outside on the bench and watch locals walking there dogs and talk to so many friendly people. Grand Lakes beach is right down the street from the main drag and you can rent any water craft your heart desires. It has a nice beach to relax on and just soak up the sun or read a good book. RELAXING!!! Strawberry Hot Springs is another must. Natural Hot Springs in the mountains. Different layers of heat. All natural pools of different temperatures depending on how high or low you go. BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!! Try it for yourself and let me know what you think. The Doyons from Pembroke, NH

Winter Wonderland! Seven of us stayed here in March 2008; 3 adults and 4 children. It is such a wonderful home in a beautiful surrounding, that I still reminisce about it. I loved that all of us could sit at the same table with ease and enjoy great conversation, games, etc. We accidentally left something behind and Mike and Carole mailed it back to us - - very much appreciated as it was a prize position of one of the children’s.Thank you Mike and Carole for letting us stay in your lovely home! We hope to come back some day.PS - All raved about the comfort of the beds!

This was our first visit to the "Lakes"; have been several times skiing to Winterpark but never ventured further north until now. We had a family party of 10 and stayed at The Bennett home in Grand Lake. The house was well designed with open family room connected to the kitchen and private bedrooms. The views of Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake from the huge front windows were magnificent. We enjoyed the resident hummingbirds and kept their feeders full. The home was very clean which is very important to us. We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the location, slightly away from the town. We highly recommend this home; The Bennett's were great to work with. A big plus, internet available!

Mike and Carole, Thank you so much for allowing us to use your cabin! It was beautiful inside, and out. The vaulted ceilings with knotty pine. Granite countertops, cozy fireplace, comfortable sofa, and side chairs. All of the bathrooms were very spacious with gorgeous tile work! The kitchen had very nice appliances, and all of the utensils we needed to prepare our meals. The view from the living room/front deck looking out over the lake was spectacular! The cabin was only one minute from the downtown boardwalk, and lake. That was very nice. We made a few trips to the well stocked convenience store.Your location was only a 20 minute drive from Granby where we picked up our daughter who arrived via Amtrak train. We had a ton of questions about the cabin before we rented. You were so kind to quickly respond with answers each time. You both did everything you said you would do in a professional timely manner, but at the same time we felt included as part of your family. Carole discovered we had left one of our cameras. She contacted us, packaged, and shipped the camera back to us. WOW! Thank you Carole! I took cross country skis, and took off from your property. I discovered the trail head into the Rocky Mountain National Forest. No one had been on the trail except animals, so I got to break trail in the 3 to 4 foot of snow. This was the best time for me in the winter wonderland. Some of the other family went with me on snow shoes the following days right from the cabin doorstep. We all took turns sledding down the road in front of your cabin each day. That was great. My nice from California who had never been in the snow must have gone down a hundred times, and I am not exaggerating. Friday was our day on snowmobiles. We rented 2 doubles for the day at "On the Trail". Jim the owner was great to let us switch off every 2 hours with the sleds, and equipment. It had snowed the night before, so the first group out had fresh powder all the way.Again thank you for allowing us to enjoy your “Office by the Lake” for a few days. It was truly one of the best family times I have ever had with my Children, Grandchildren, Mom, and Sisters.

What an ideal location for a "Girls Weekend" at Grand Lake! We loved your spacious, clean, beautiful home. The views of the surrounding mountains and lakes are absolutely spectacular! We aren't sure what we liked the most...enjoying sunset on the deck or gathered around the table playing games in the evening. The elk that wandered by at sunset, a fox and several deer seen from the deck were highlights of the trip. Grand Lake is a charming town! Thanks for a wonderful weekend! We would definitely recommend this gorgeous home for your vacation!

There were 6 in our group that stayed for the weekend. We loved the house! There is enough space to spend time together, yet enough to separate as well. The decorating is beautiful. The convenient location to town made getting around quite simple. Very close to restaurants, shops, and of course, snowmobiling! We look forward to staying here again!

We just finished a 5 night stay in early Sept. '07. Grand Lake is a national treasure and this house is a great way to experience it. The view is teriffic. The porch is huge. A perfect mountain lodge with all of the amenities. Decor very well chosen. The stars at night are worth the trip. A short trip into the Park at dusk allowed us to see a pair of moose. Rented a kayak in town for a beautiful, quiet lake experience. Unique mix of rugged westerners and the rest of us. Great retreat for a "slow down" or a hub for the myriad of available activities.

We found the property to be as adverstised. The house is situated at an elevation above the town of Grand Lake, which allows for nice views. The interior has a very functional plan, and the bedrooms and bathrooms are quite roomy. We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evening. We would stay in the property again without hesitation.

We stayed in this very comfortable home late in July. Although it was overcast and rainy at times, we were happy to hang out on the deck sipping our coffee -- the view is beautiful overlooking Grand and Shadow Mtn. Lakes. It was very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed hiking nearby even in an afternoon downpour -- our umbrella kept us mostly dry. We saw moose, two of them. One too close for our teenage son who admitted being "freaked", but also coined it "an awesome experience". The home is new with great design and furnishings. The cathedral ceiling and rock fireplace give the home a lodge feeling. We also found the beds quite comfortable and the bathrooms very spacious. We hope we can stay there again sometime. We loved the house and it's setting! There were 6 of us in our group and each couple had their own bathroom, the lower level has a bedroom, bathroom and a seperate tv area which was nice in case we wanted to spread out. You could tell that it was a new and lovingly used house and the furniture was nice as well. The beds were very comfortable which was important because after a long day of hiking or sightseeing it was nice to be able to get a good nights sleep (especially with us being "flatlanders")so that you could get up refreshed for another day of the same. The deck was nice to relax on as you smell the fresh mountain air and listen to the hummingbirds buzz by. My favorite thing about staying there was walking around in the woods that are behind the home. We saw fox and a deer and evidence of moose and elk. A 5 minute walk will bring you to a place that overlooks the town and the lakes. You are only a 5 minute drive from two trailheads that have some great hiking and when you get back to town there are lots of choices for restaurants so that you can get fueled back up. I love staying on the west side of RMNP. It's not as busy, you get to see more wildlife and you can experience nature in a more relaxed and calming way.

We have stayed at this house on multiple ocassions, both warm and cold weather seasons, and was great. No matter what time of year, there are activities if you want to keep busy, and beautiful scenery if you just want to relax on the deck or stare out the massive windows. This house is new and everything is in great shape with fresh designs. Very comfortable and roomy. We loved having a separate family room for the kids to hang out and play their games. The town of Grand Lake is awesome, and all the locals are so friendly. What a great getaway and or family vacation destination. Can't wait to go back!!!
