Very Nice

Guest: Jessica L.
Date of Stay: 05/02/12 Review Submitted: 05/08/12

I was a bit worried about the location as it is a bit close to "the key west projects" as my friend who lives in KW puts it. But this place ended up being perfect. All the neighbors were very nice and helpful. The bikes were a perfect way to get around! So glad those were included in the house. Fort Zach and Higgs beach were so close and easily accessible by bike. It is even easy to walk around and get to the action on foot. Duval st. and Mallory Square are just a short walk away. The best breakfast on the island is only a few blocks away. You must go to Blue Heaven (Corner of Thomas and Petonia) for breakfast! Don't forget to check out "The Cat Man" in front of the Westin before the famous sunset in Mallory Square. I'd also highly recommend Garbo's Grill (Greene St). Their hours are variable but I swear they have the best fish tacos on the island (it is a small food truck but don't be turned off). As for the house it was a very nice place. It is small; perfect for 2 people. The pull out couch was even comfortable!! It was very clean when we got there and we had no trouble with anything there. The house is attached to a very nice little fenced in yard with chairs. I spent my days at the beach but you could have just sat at the house if you wanted to get some sun. My only problem was the sketchy cell service in the unit. As soon as I stepped out the door it was fine but inside the house I had some trouble.... but that isn't the owners fault! I would certainly recommend Key West and this place to stay! I look forward to coming back again in the future and I will definitely be looking to see if this place is open!

Cute place!

We just got back from a 4 night stay in Key West, where we lodged in Unit #3. The location is close to so many items. The bikes provided by the unit were well used during our stay. Biking is easy in Key West, and much easier than a car. The unit is cute and cozy. It had everything that we needed for a great stay. Ms Colleen is a great owner to work with, very understanding to any renters needs. We spent one evening camping at Dry Tortugas, and I reccomend that for all Key West visitors.

Nice place, good location

Guest: Claire L.
Date of Stay: 04/21/12 Review Submitted: 04/23/12

We stayed in Unit 3 and it was perfect for our one night stay. Lots of amenities that were super convenient including bikes w/ locks (HUGE plus), kitchen setup including dishes and refrigerator, small TV, internet, and A/C. We rode everywhere and the place is just blocks from Southern Point, Hemingway House, Lighthouse, and Duval Street. Parking was convenient, which can be difficult around the busy places on the island. There is not a small table to eat at in the unit, but no problem for us! We ate outside on the deck, drank wine, and enjoyed the breeze through the palm trees that line the back of the property. My only wish is that it had a queen size bed instead of a full.

Niedliches Studio zum Wohlfühlen

Guest: Karen L. (Bochum, Germany)
Date of Stay: 04/17/12 Review Submitted: 05/02/12

Reasonable Condo for 2 in Key West

Guest: Craig M. (Westmont, New Jersey)
Date of Stay: 04/06/12 Review Submitted: 04/16/12

Location is good especially with the bicycles. We took them everywhere including Ft. Zack, Smathers Beach, historic area and Stock Island. The condo is a few blocks from Upper Duval Street and less than a ten to fifteen minute walk to all the action. Condo is small and lacks a stove but has a microwave and all the ice you can use. Liked the shower bathroom allowing you to walk in and walk out. Main bed was large enough but the person on the inside (along a wall) had to crawl to the end of the bed to get up. Wouldn't recommend sleeping on the inside to anyone with physical issues TV room has a love seat couch bed but it would be less than ideal for four people in the condo because of lack of seating and storage. Fine for two people. Had trouble with the cable and internet but the owner was helpful in trying to resolve difficulties. Overall, maybe a little overpriced for the rental, but Key West is WAY overpriced for rentals, so not a bad value.

A Charming Place in Paradise

Guest: Jodi C.
Date of Stay: 03/25/12 Review Submitted: 04/07/12

My fiance and I spent the last week of March at this property and couldn't have been more content. The owner has done a wonderful job of making sure you have everything you need to have a great stay - right down to snacks and an icemaker in the mini-fridge. I made use of the washer and dryer on the property - so handy, and even more hi-tech than my set at home! I didn't find myself wishing for anything to be different as far as amenities. The wrap-around porch with it's tropical foliage is perfect for enjoying a book and morning coffee, and I loved the dual shower and keyless entry. The house was very clean, well-maintained, and tastefully decorated. It's just the right size for two people. The neighborhood was far enough away from Duvall Street to be quiet at night and peaceful during the day, yet not so far away to making walking to most locations in Old Town Key West a problem. Having bicycles available was so convenient. I felt the price for a week's rental was very reasonable, and I hope to return in the future. We spent several sunsets at Mallory Square. If you go, make sure you catch the Catman of Key West and his Flying Housecat Circus (tips welcomed). We saw most of the attractions in the week we were there; The Little White House ($15+tax) was pretty cool. As you plan your days, keep in mind the cruise ships dock in Key West and it can be pretty busy during the late morning and mid-day. The Hemingway House is packed while the ship is in dock - wait until later in the afternoon to make your visit if you plan to go there. Visit the Key West bookstore on Fleming to find some great books on the history of Key West. The Museum at the Fort East Martello ($12) has done an excellent job of preserving Key West's history. I'd recommend it, as well as the Oldest House in Key West (on Duvall Street - and it's free!) as my two "must-sees". A walking tour of the Key West Cemetery is also free, and there's a walking tour of Key West buildings you can take using your mobile phone. If we make a return trip, we'll stay here again. We were very pleased.

Owner response:Thank you so much for your review and all the great tips! I am sure others will find them very useful and I am glad you had a nice time.

Monet Unit, Nice Place

Guest: J L.
Date of Stay: 03/16/12 Review Submitted: 03/24/12

We stayed at the unit 6 nights in March, cosy little place, clean and in an ideal location central to everything. The bikes were a plus and we took advantage of their use a lot even though we had a car. The onsite laundry is a huge plus. The rental process was easy as well as communication with the owner. If I could make one suggestion it would be to replace the whicker table and chair with a small table (kitchen, bar type) and two chairs in order to have a place to eat, play cards, use a computer etc. Overall a very nice unit and vacation.

Owner response:I am glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your feedback. I am glad to here about the table and chairs because that is next on my list to buy. I just haven't found one the suits me. Thank you again for your feedback!

Good price for a cute little condo

Guest: Mary (Minneapolis, MN)
Date of Stay: 03/04/12 Review Submitted: 03/12/12

My husband and I stayed for 4 nights. We liked the free bikes (complete with a lock and lights for nightime use) so we could explore the area. We have a king-size bed at home, so the full-size took some getting used to- but we enjoyed our stay. We used the fridge, microwave, and coffee maker daily, and sat out on the decks. The place was quiet, except for some roosters, which no one can control. Everything worked well and was clean. We were able to find parking in front of the unit, or on the side street- if we took off in our car. It was only two blocks or so South of Duval Street, but it wasn't near all of the bars and stores, those are a few blocks up, and then several blocks to the West. This wasn't a problem if you used the bikes, but I wouldn't want to walk it every day. The only thing I wished this place had was a closet with hangars, so I could hang-up some clothes. It did have hooks, but not really a closet. I would definately recommend this place for 2 people.

We came down for two days after a week in Marathon. The unit was great, just as advertised Availability of the bikes was a great Plus. I road all over the island in the morning while my wife slept in. The location felt a little questionable when we first arrived but it was nice & quiet as well as being handy to south end attractions. I wondered about no pool but friend who came down with us paid $100+ for their unit elsewhere and only used the pool once. We will definitely come again. Dealing with owner was quite enjoyable.

Date of Stay: 01/04/12 Review Submitted: 01/09/12

The clean, comfy, charming Monet unit is modest in size, but it certainly beats a hotel room--especially considering all its efficiency amenities. My wife and I had a quiet, enjoyable stay, and the rental process was quick and easy. My business colleagues all stayed near the commercial district--frankly, I think my wife and I got the better deal! If you're coming to Key West for business or pleasure, I'd recommend checking out this place.

Owner response:I am very glad you enjoyed your stay. We do what we can to make our renters stay easy and relaxing.

My fiancee and I stayed here for a wedding. The space is larger than most hotel rooms, especially at the owner's rental rate, and it was very clean. Everything from linens, to towels, bikes, even bottled water was provided by the owner. We will probably stay here again the next time we visit. Five stars.

Ideal location

Date of Stay: 11/23/11 Review Submitted: 11/27/11

This condo was nice and is in an ideal location, close to the Duval street. Well kept, but need to replace sofa bed, that sofabed as seen better days. O.K. for 2 people but a bit to small for 4, or you have to be very well organized, not to step on each others toes. G. Charette Canada

Owner response:I do my best to make your stay enjoyable. I leave on 11/29 to go to the condo and while there the sofa bed is on my list to replace. Didn't want to get replacement without picking it out in person or it would've been replaced already. While the condo is small I fell in love with it the first time I looked at it to purchase, and the closeness to everything was just an extra plus for me. Thank you for the comments, it helps me to see through others' eyes.

Small but Affordable

Date of Stay: 11/06/11 Review Submitted: 11/16/11

There are inconveniences to staying at this place but you may find them worth it. I have not stayed at any other place in Key West so I have nothing to compare it to. The owners do not live at the property and it shows. When we got there we wanted to wash some cloths. The washer and dryer were both stuffed to the max with sheets and bath rugs. We tried to finish drying what was in the dryer but it was too stuffed and the lint trap would not even go in all the way because the dryer was so clogged up with lint. Luckily I found a six way screw driver in my wife's car and was able to disassemble the lint trap and clean out all the lint. The dryer worked noticeable better after that. Getting in was easy but if the lock didn't work I don't know what we would have done. I called the owners once to notify them of the dryer and a broken drain pipe in the bathroom. I didn't hear back for a few days and then only be email. The place in very small. No stove or freezer. The couch didn't look very clean but there was an extra sheet in our room and we just covered the couch with it. The area of the condo is run down but we did not feel unsafe. The bikes are rusty but work. You may want to bring a tire pump in case you find one of the tires flat when you got there. I would recommend this place for people who are on a budget or people like us who would rather stay in a small place with some inconveniences and use the couple hundred dollars in savings to go on excursions and nice dinners. We had a great time in Key West. We spent a lot of money on other things besides our accommodations. The weather was great the whole time we were there and we really didn't spend much time in our room. Loved Key West! It's not the cleanest place I've ever seen but there is lots of stuff to do. We stayed 5 days but could have stayed a few more. There were tours we didn't get a chance to do and beaches we would have like to visit. Duval street has some pretty nasty T-shirts. I would keep kids away form there. Enjoy your visit

This unit is great. It IS on the tiny side, but the small space is very well utilized and very stylishly decorated. The murphy bed was comfy, but the pull out sofa should probably be replaced, its old and uncomfortable. All of the extra touches the owners provided (snacks, waters, wifi, bikes, etc.) made it all worthwhile though. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

Everything was Perfect

Date of Stay: 09/18/11 Review Submitted: 10/08/11

My wife and I recently stayed here on our honeymoon. We had an amazing time. The condo was very clean and comfortable and bigger than it looks in the pictures. It was stocked with kitchen supplies and many other conveniences. It is in the perfect location, within walking distance of anywhere you would want to go, but far enough that it wasn't loud at night. A couple blocks from Duval St, the southernmost point, and Ft. Zachary Taylor Park (which has the best beach). We rode the bikes everywhere, they are a great bonus. The only times we had to take a cab were to and from the airport. The owner was also very accommodating and helped make our stay great. Even if the condo was much more expensive, I would still recommend it to anyone. I have no complaints at all. We look forward to going back as soon and as often as possible.

Owner response:Thank you for the nice comments and I am so glad you had a good stay!

We arrived in the unit and everything was arranged as spokin about previsously. The unit is just a short few blocks from the "mainstream" attractions of key west. There is so much to say right now but im sure I would surely run out of room with all of the good things! :) Dont be fooled by the look of it in the pictures, there is plenty of room to move around in the unit. A/C was cold, water preasure wasgood, and the water was hot. Thnak you again Lisa for allowing us to use your place, we had a GREAT time! See you guys again soon!

Perfect Getaway

Date of Stay: 12/27/10 Review Submitted: 02/18/11

We spent our New Year's in Key West and this was absolutely perfect for our needs. Lisa (the owner) went above and beyond!!!  There were snacks waiting for us upon our arrival, a special champagne surprise for the New Year and just an overall outstanding working relationship. The bikes on property negate the need for a car and we used them all day everyday we were there. The condo is centrally located just steps (or pedals) away from Duval and all the shopping, eating and drinking that makes Key West such a fantastic vacation destination.  There simply aren't enough good things to say about the condo or Lisa. In fact we were excited to repeat our New Year's trip this year but another lucky vacationer already reserved it.
