Casita Lolita is an elegantly charming, cozy retreat, in a quiet area of San Miguel known as Colonia Guadalupe. It is very close--just a 15 minute walk (10 for fast walkers)--to the Central area of town, the "Jardin" and "Parroquia". Very convenient, there are restaurants and shopping nearby. Inside, it is private and quiet, a condo with just 2 other units.

This one is upstairs, with a plant-filled balcony which offers a peaceful outdoor area to sip a glass of wine and view the sunset. Inside it has a spacious Boveda ceiling, and is painted wonderful colors which flow into each other and give a happy feeling when you are visiting! There is artwork created by local artists, Anado Mclauchlin, and brothers Carlos and Alfonso Ramirez. The space is really most comfortable for 1 or 2 people.

There is a spa for facials and massage one block away(go one block down Tata Nacho, and left on Farolito), and 2 different gyms, about 2 blocks away.

Why the Owner Chose Colonia Guadalupe

I wanted to live there, but because I cannot leave my grandaughter for so long and don't even want to, I live here in California instead. So, it is a charming rental!

The Unique Benefits at this Condo

I love that the kitchen is big enough to move around in, the bed is extra comfy, and the balcony offers such pleasure for morning coffee or sunset watching. I love the convenience, nothing is too far not to walk to, and if I need a taxi for the hotsprings, it is easy walking to get one! I love that I can have a good massage or facial a block away, and healthy food is also very close.

Owner's Map of Colonia Guadalupe

I am a lover of San Miguel de Allende in all of it's forms, an artist wanna-be-in- training, a grandma, and a retired Massage Therapist from Santa Barbara, CA.

An amazing place

I had such a good time in Lolita's haven-- I went to SMA to do a retreat and having the colorful, welcoming home of Lolita's to return to in the evenings just made the retreat all that more richer. It's a great location, you can walk to the centre of town in 15 minutes, or take the intra-urban bus for 5 pesos from a nearby bus stop. Great markets for getting fresh local food. An incredible experience, I hope I can return! Thanks Lolita!

Owner response:Thanks so much, Mary, it was a pleasure to have such a positive and helpful person staying there! And i do hope you will return some day soon! All the best, Lolita

Lolita's casita was perfect in every way. Every detail in the casita is high quality, charming and commodious. In the 550 sq.ft. one can find everything necessary for a grand vacation. Here, one sleeps well because the bed is ultra-comfortable and the neighborhood quiet. One eats well because the kitchen is so well equipped, so well laid out; Gombo's is right next door, and Via Organica is right around the corner. All one's senses are fed as Lolita has furnished the casita with Mexican folk art, Mexican colors and sumptuous furnishings. She has supplied the casita with artistic dvds and cds, guide books to the local area. Every time we returned to the casita from our adventures of the day/night, we felt fortunate to have found such a wonderful hideaway. Lolita is the perfect landlady as well; relaxed, responsive and trusting. We spent a month here and knew that we would possibly feel on top of each other in this small place. We never did. Instead we marveled at how Lolita managed to make the most of every inch of space. The cleaners were responsible and thorough. I thought we might miss the addition of a washer/dryer, but in fact, the laundry next door was even better as all our clothes were washed, dried and folded for us for a very small price. We fell in love with the neighborhood as well, having stayed in others in past years. We would happily return to Colonia Guadalupe and Casita Lolita in the future.

I have been a travel agent for 20 years and am "trained" to find fault with places I stay (occupational hazard). I can't think of ONE thing that I could say that was a problem at the lovely Casa Lolita. I could live there (and might one day). Everything was in working order (not always the case with rental properties) - there were thoughtful touches everywhere. As you can see by the photos the colors are amazing and you just feel happy and uplifted while you are staying here. The Guadalupe area is a perfect location, and quiet even during the Mexican Independence Day celebrations. The wonderful Gombos pizza is a few doors down and there are abundant restaurants and shopping within just a few minutes walk. It's about a 15 minute flat walk to centro with lots to see along the way. I probably shouldn't be raving about Casa Lolita as I might, hopefully one day soon, want to return and could find it unavailable once others find out about this jewel!

Casita Lolita is a gem and as one other guest commented much like living in a jewel box. I was lucky enough to live here for seven months in 2008/09 and would bring the apartment home with me if I could. Everything in the flat is thoughtful and well laid-out, from the floor plan, lighting (all on dimmer switches, fireplace, art, and furniture. No detail has been overlooked or spared. The kitchen is the BEST. Spacious and fully-equipped - heaven for anyone who really likes to cook. Among apartments in SMA, this is a rarity. Finally, I'm doubtful one could find a more gracious and easy- going owner. I hope I will be lucky enough to live here again.

My husband and I just spent 10 days at Casita Lolita surrounding the Dia de los Muertos holiday. We had a fantastic trip and just loved Casita Lolita. The Casita is a little jewel box full of color and art. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. I think anyone who stays here will be thrilled with "their find".

I stayed in this lovely apartment for a week in January 2008. Just as the fotos show, the apartment is chock-full of original art, bright, cheerful, and warmed by a gas fireplace. And it comes with high-speed DSL. Lolita, the owner, could not have been more hospitable, dropping off music CD's every other morning. The neighborhood is residential and quiet, with tiny tiendas (stores) on the corners, and even a small gym and medical clinic within a couple blocks. The apartment is just 15 minutes, walking briskly, from the Jardin. I would happily make this adorable and spotless apartment my home away from home in San Miguel.

Two of us shared this cozy little apartment in San Miguel de Allende for the Dia de los Muertos holiday. It was a short 15 minute walk away from the city center so was close enough but nice to be away from the crowds in a more quiet neighborhood. I would definitely return to Casita Lolita.
