Comfortably nestled between two miles of private pristine sandy beach and the soothing fragrant eucalyptus grove, this comfortable and completely furnished 4 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, three story home with an ocean view, is located in the gated community of Pajaro Dunes, located between Monterey/Carmel, and Santa Cruz on beautiful Monterey Bay. Just one hundred yards to the ocean, this beach house has something for everyone!
The master suite occupies the third floor with an oceanview wrap around deck to lounge, or to share life's simple pleasures like the sounds of the ocean, or your favorite bottle of wine while watching the magnificent sunset. The main floor has a large open floor plan consisting of a fully furnished kitchen with all the amenities of home, along with a large dining area with a huge redwood dining table large enough to seat 12 easily. The mountain view deck off the kitchen has a stainless gas grill along with an eating area nestled close to the eucalyptus trees. The living area is spacious and inviting with a fireplace and entertainment center. Off the living/dining area is a deck with an oceanview to enjoy the sounds of the surf while sipping your early morning coffee and reading the newspaper, working your favorite crossword or Saduko or taking a mid-afternoon snooze! There is something for everyone!
Within the gates, enjoy two miles of private sandy beach to sun, surf, fly a kite, stroll or have an evening bon fire. If that's not enough, you can become one with nature and bird watch out your back door at the wildlife sanctuary, play tennis, shoot hoops, walk or ride bikes on the beautiful trails. Maybe you want to be more adventurous--like kayaking with the harbor seals and otters in nearby Elkhorn Slough, or maybe a day of deep sea fishing on beautiful Monterey Bay, or how about swinging your clubs at one of the many local golf courses. There's definitely something for everyone!
There's so much to see in the Monterey/Carmel area including abundant specialty shops, restaurants, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey Pier, and Cannery Row, just to name a few. A few minutes to the north is the town of Santa Cruz with its ever famous Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, home of the all wooden roller coaster--The Big Dipper. Ride an old steam locomotive through the Santa Cruz Mountains making a stop to enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded in the beauty of the redwood forest. Enjoy a day of wine tasting at one of the many local, award winning wineries. Again, there's most definitely something for everyone!
Easy to get to, Pajaro Dunes is just an hour south from San Jose International Airport, or minutes from Watsonville Municipal Airport for private fly-ins.

This house was so great for a long weekend getaway for our friends -- easy access to the beach, sunny common areas, and many patios to lounge around in. Access to the place is easy enough and the assistance was wonderful. We were in town for the Gentlemen of the Road stopover in Monterey and found the place to be conveniently located to provide a quiet getaway before and after the concert. I would definitely recommend this for large groups (10-12) and especially for small families who want a relaxing stay near the beach. Thanks, Lou Ann!Did you find this review helpful? The beach house was better then imagined. Everything in the home was so cozy and comfortable, it felt like home. The beach was only a hop, skip and a jump away. The view was amazing and the kids had a blast. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The owner Lou Ann is the nicest lady ever and made everything so easy. We will definitely be back, was an experience we'll never forget! Thanks again Lou Ann your the best!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Pajaro Dunes is a beautiful location - a group of beach houses nestled in the dunes in front of a gorgeous stretch of beach. The house was very nice. Built several decades ago but with some updates. The top level master bedroom has wonderful ocean views. The main level has an open plan with kitchen/dining/living area, opening onto decks on two sides of the house; ocean views from the main level also. The kitchen is functional with some updates. The downstairs level has three bedrooms and a full bathroom, and laundry. Recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

We spent a few days after the holidays enjoying the beach at Pajaro Dunes and thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beach house. It fit our family's needs. I loved the large dining room table and the upstairs master suite is wonderful. The owners were helpful and welcoming to our questions. It was clean and comfortable.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

Spent 2 wonderful weeks in this very lovely home. Complete kitchen made feeding 2 year old so easy. Layout provides plenty of privacy. Lots of decks for relaxing. Beach has great fine sand and we walked it for miles. Too bad other reviewer didn't call to have extra garbage removed by very very responsive Pajara Dunes staff. Nearby fire fighters allowed 2 year old to sit in the fire engine. Need I say more? He will never forget this moment and we will treasure our hilarious family fun times there. If the owner lived closer to our home town, I would have invited her for dinner. She is a dream to work with and gave very thoughtful and kind responses to all our questions.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.

We spent 2 days at this cozy home only 2 minutes' walk to the ocean. There were 11 of us which was a bit tight, though the master bedroom suite is spacious. We loved all the decks on both sides of the house. The kitchen is modern and well equipped, and the house was spotless upon arrival. The elder member of our group had difficulty with all of the stairs. The grounds are stunning. We had 2 dinners in Watsonville which is a 10 minute drive away.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

My family and friends stayed for 2 days. We loved the location of the house, we didn't have to walk all the way to the beach with our coolers, etc. It was right next to the parking lot (you do walk a little bit, but not much). The place was clean, spacious, and with all the supplies we needed. The owner was very helpful in answering our questions. There was a convenience store close-by that we could easily access. All of us said we would come back to this house. Lovely place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

We spent three nights during Labor day weekend with a party of 9. The miles and miles of beach at Pajaro dunes is wide and enchanting. We ran and played and collected sand dollars washed ashore. We visited nearby Moss Landing and did kayaking and otter watching. It is a great place to be!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

THE WORST PART: To Short of time . My Grandsons played and played till they could not play any longer. We had everything we needed. We cooked, we went to the Aquarium, laid on the beach. If only we had stayed longer. Everytime we went to take out the trash , it had been pick up. Very friendly place. We highly suggest this as you vacation spotRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Our family vacation at Pajaro Dunes was awesome; it just ended to soon. The only thing I have to comment on, is the trash cans outside were full when we arrived and overflowing by the time we left. Also there could have been more large trash bags available. Would not only recommend this property, but would stay again. It was nice to have the privacy, peace and quite, but still within driving distance to see and do what ever we wanted.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.
