This idyllic award winning design home exquisitely decorated with a blend of antiques and contemporary furniture was completed for the summer 2007. It is set in a beautiful meadow on the outskirts of Edgartown. Recently added is a solar heated salt chlorinated 16 ft X 32 ft inground pool landscaped with cabana with half bath available for exclusive use by guests at 23 Jennie Lane.
The luxurious 3000 square foot living area features 10-12 foot ceilings, a spacious living room and a sun/family room with a surround sound entertainment center. The dining area seats 8-10 and is conveniently placed with access to the fully equipped kitchen with top of the line appliances including two dishwashers.
A lovely country porch overlooking the meadow on the sunset side provides a wonderful setting for relaxing in a hammock or country rockers after a day at the beach or touring the island. The blue stone patio allows for great outdoor dining with a 6 person hot tub for gazing at the stars on those clear Vineyard nights.
Newly added for 2011 is a recreation/entertainment room. Included is an elliptical machine and stationary bike, table tennis, surround sound high definition TV. Great for those days that weather might limit outdoor activity or just a get away from the main stream of the house activity.

Why the Owner Chose Edgartown
Martha's Vineyard was the perfect location and having Betty Jean's sister there made it an actual possiblity that would never have come to be. Her unique and creative ideas were the cornerstone for this wonderful property and all it has become.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The home in the meadow is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the quiet natural loveliness of the island after a wonderful day of island activities. Sitting in the hot tub enjoying the starfilled sky and sounds of nature all around make it a marvelous end to a fun filled day on the Vineyard. The solar heated salt chlorinated pool also provides a wonderful way to spend family time after a busy day. The newly added rec/entertainment room is a great place to start the day with exercise and end it with a movie or game of table tennis.

Bill and Betty Jean started planning to build this house shortly after they added the studio to the guest house already built on the property. The plan was to have a retirement home with the ability to generate income to keep the property constantly updated and renewed. Now that the plan has actually come into an actuality it has fulfilled our wildest expectations.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the main house. We have rented through VRBO on numerous occasions and this is the nicest house we’ve encountered. The house is even better than the pictures on-line. The house is new and in great condition. It has a great layout for relaxing or entertaining. We enjoyed using the pool and hot tub after a day at the beach. The location is private/secluded yet provides easy access to the bike path and is a short drive into to town. The property has all the amenities for a high end vacation.
Recommended for:Families with young children, families with teenagers.

Great vacation! As soon as you turn off the "highway", traveling down the sandy lane to Jennie Lane, you can start to feel yourself relaxing. The setting is peaceful with a lovely meadow, and the home and grounds are lovely, modern and well maintained ! We stayed a week with our two grown daughters, and the home was spacious enough to give us ample family time, as well as "our"space". Betty Jean's presence was felt,she was able to answer all of our questions, but was not intrusive in any way. The newly renovated game/exercise room, and record collection were wonderful, and came in handy on a rainy Sunday! The pictures do not do the home justice, it is gorgeous. The central location is easily accessible to all parts of the island. Would defintiely recommend this home for a vacation...In fact, Presdent Obama and his family would be quite comfortable and secluded staying here! Loved everything about this place!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Thank you for the most peaceful & comfortable vacation we have ever had. Your home is amazing - so pristine and beautiful. Betty Jean, your presence nearby was a constant comfort & we loved getting to know you and see you at work in your garden. This truly has been a "home away from home" for us. The beaches were amazing but even better was coming home, making a pot of tea & sitting in the living room & looking our your beautiful windows. Lucas & Alex will not forget our friendly flock of turkeys and of course the afternoons playing ball in the pool. It's hard to leave... but we take so many wonderful memories w/us.

I enthusiastically recommend this property. The pictures understate the quality and appearance of this home. The pool is perfect. The hot tub and patio area are very private. We chose to be away from it all in this rural area and we were very happy with the location - secluded but a short drive to Edgartown and Oak Bluffs. Having the owners on site is a nice benefit - they are warm and welcoming - a great resource for sightseeing - but they also respect your privacy. The house is tastefully decorated and exceptionally maintained inside and out. The kitchen is well equipped. The master bedroom is spacious and very private in a separate wing. The owners have anticipated your every need - providing beach towels, beach chairs, an umbrella, a cooler and much more. Thank you Betty Jean and Bill for a wonderful vacation!

I would absolutely recommend this house, it is refreshingly clutter-free, beautifully designed, very well equipped (especially the kitchen with fantastic brand new appliances) and full of light. There is also a great TV entertainment centre room and particularly nice bathrooms. It's secluded at the end of a long track, surrounded by wooded areas and provided us with a much-needed peaceful respite. I hope others enjoy it as much as we did!
