Comfortable, bright and airy three bedroom home on private road in Mautucket by the Sea Association with space for multiple generations - family room with dining area and room for settling on a couch or comfortable chair with a good book. Living room with hardwood floors, spacious and light, large, well equipped eat in kitchen with walkout to deck, and three bedrooms furnished for comfort and beachside fun. One bedroom with Queen bed, one with Double, and one with two twin beds. Deck in back with picnic table and benches, another table with umbrella and chairs. Walk to outdoor shower through garden path off the deck. Large back yard suitable for badminton or just playing around, basketball hoop off driveway. Sunny front yard. Gardens throughout the property designed to create several spaces for relaxation.
Minutes to many beaches, private and public access to Green Hill Pond for putting in boats, canoes, kayaks. Weekday free use of private beach in Green Hill with facilities. House is very close to the Charlestown town line, and the State Beach Charlestown Breachway, in addition to East Beach, West Beach, Matunick State Beach. Just a little further to Narragansett with Scarborough State Beach, Roger Wheeler State Beach, or in the other direction toward Westerly, Misquamicut Beach, and Watch Hill.
Short drive to Galilee, where the Block Island Ferry leaves several times a day. Clamming, fishing, all water sports available. 30 minute drive to Jamestown, 40 minutes to Newport, 50 to Providence, and two hours from Boston, MA. Very close to Trustum Pond National Wildlife Refuge - the only undeveloped salt pond in RI surrounded by hundreds of acres of field and woodland. The osprey's are on the nest!

Why the Owner Chose Green Hill
Six years ago after a two year search through the towns of Narragansett, Charlestown, and South Kingstown I was lucky enough to be the first and last person to see this house. I have the best of both worlds. I have a quiet setting on a nice piece of property in a neighborhood of homes that have been built for year round living - not the tiny tumbledown houses that are so close to one another that you have no opportunity for privacy.
I love the fact that there is private beach access to a swimmable beach year round on Green Hill Beach, where I can walk with Dory, my dog. It is really hard to find beach access for dogs in the summer. We also have two locations on Green Hill pond where you can put in a canoe or Kayak. I am so close to the Charlestown Beach and Breachway that I can get to three beautiful beaches in under five minutes. There is a public boatramp nest to the parking lot for Charlestwon Beach, where you can put a moterboat in the water. I love to come in the off season, when the area abounds with migratory birds and animals that come out of hiding when everyone leaves!
Trustom Pond is right down the road - this is the only undeveloped salt pond in RI. This preserve is over 1,000 acres, offers trails of all lengths through woodlands or to the water that abound with wildlife year round, but watching the swans in their mating ritual in the Spring, or the counting the different varieties of waterfowl in the fall is a great way to enjoy a few hours. In the winter, the trails are perfect for cross country skiing.
Great sandy beach, walk down the road for a bite at Jim's Dock, a VERY casual atmosphere - eat on the dock, some indoor seating, BYOB to help with the budget.
Take the ferry to Block ISland, or just ejoy seaside dining in one of several restarants. Buy fresh lobster from the dock on the way toward Great ISland, or from either of the two full service fish m
This is a long quiet beach, great for children, as it is flat.

Take a day trip to Block Island - take your bikes or rent them there. YOu can ride around the Island enjoying the change in landscape from Cliffs to meadows to the flat beaches. You could also walk

I have been vacationing in Rhode Island for most of my life. I live in Connecticut, so it is a two hour drive to a different world! I love going to the beach all year round, and at all times of day. I marvel at the fact that the beach will be different every time I go there. I have a high stress job, and just the sound of the waves crashing against the shore takes me to a diffeerent mind set. I go to watch the sunset every night I am there. The sky turns such beautiful colors, and the reflection on the water magnifies the beauty.
