Charming Duckpond Cottage, Your Getaway in Gunnison!
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This is a charming, fully equipped home, two queen bedrooms, two full baths, and a sleeping loft (ladder access) with two twin beds. Just bring your clothes, fishing rod and expectations, you won't be disappointed. Located within sight of the Gunnison National Forest and West Elk Wilderness. Close enough to town to be convenient but far enough out to give you the peace you deserve.
Summer gives you hiking, biking and wildflowers, fall for hunting and winter for skiing and Snowmobiling. Gunnison has it all, except for the crowds. This is what a mountain vacation is supposed to be about! We live on the same piece of property (in a separate house, of course) and are happy to be as much a part of your visit, or as little, as you want. If it's advice on what pass to ride on your motorcycle, which fly to use or introducing you and your family to our alpacas, just ask. This is the vacation you will talk about!

The property title says it all - Charming Duckpond Cottage! This is a clean, well-equipped, cozy cottage with a great gas fireplace, comfortable furniture, and a comfortable bed (slept in master). The cottage is set back from the main house and private. Access is via an electric gate, for which you get your own remote. The ducks, geese, and Alpacas on the property were great entertainment and were quiet; no early morning wake up calls. Doug was a gracious host (Lee was out of town) and stopped by to make sure everything was in order and to give us suggestions for places to visit and restaurants. Garlic Mike's is just down the road towards town and lived up to its excellent on-line reviews. Wonderful food and great service. We would definitely stay here again when in Gunnison. Thanks Doug!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful week's stay in Gunnison. The cottage had all the amenities you could have asked for. By the time we got all of our personal items put away, we felt like we were home. The property was clean and very well maintained. The owners, Doug and Lee were extremely helpful. If you needed information regarding the area, or if you just wanted to visit with them, they were there to help. We plan on going back to the area again next year. Thanks to Doug and Lee for providing such a lovely home, so we could really have a fun and a relaxing vacation. - The Baker'sRecommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

We are just finishing up our month in Gunnison. I cannot say enough nice things about our house and the owners, Doug and Lee. The house was very clean on arrival and everything we needed was furnished. We had a great time watching the ducks on the pond. The hiking and wildflowers here in July are fantastic. We enjoyed our time here so much that we have already reserved the house for next July.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

My Dad and I planned a fishing trip to the Gunnison area and picked the perfect house and location. This house is right in the middle of three trout fishing rivers and surrounded by numerous streams and creeks. In addition, the house has all the amenities imaginable, and is very clean. We will hope to return.Owner response: Thanks David, glad you folks had a good time, hope to see you and your Dad again. Doug and Lee

We just returned to Texas from ten days in Gunnison. The house is terrific. Convenient to hiking, rafting, fishing, and the surrounding towns. Comfortable and pleasant. Doug and Lee are accomodating and never intrusive. The sleeping loft is large, the bedrooms small and adequate. The best Colorado rental we've had in twenty years.Did you find this review helpful? If you're looking for a great place to stay, this is it! We visited for 6 weeks this summer and found the house to be everything we had hoped. We felt very comfortable; it's well stocked, and the owners of the cottage are very congenial. We are sure we will return in years to come.Did you find this review helpful?
