Very recently, the 1920's Atkinson Boot Manufacturing building in gorgeous and quaint Ludington, Michigan was saved from the wrecking ball by architect Richard Craig. This grand building has provided this very unique luxury loft with twelve-foot high ceilings. It has exposed concrete columns and steel I-beams that clearly provide the "loft" feel.
This historic building overlooks Lake Michigan and the loft has a full view of the Ludington SS Badger car ferry and car ferry harbor. You walk in the front door and are immediately captured by the view.
Ludington, Michigan is located just 1.5 hours north of Grand Rapids, Michigan and a nice 4 hour drive north of Chicago. Or, you can cruise Lake Michigan on the SS Badger car ferry from Manitowoc, Wisconsin straight to Ludington. You can then walk straight off the ferry to the loft with no car required.
The condo itself is located next to the Ludington Harbor View Marina and the new waterfront park. The shops and restaurants downtown start less than 1 block away. It is just 3 blocks to the House of Flavors ice cream parlor and 5 blocks to one of the best beaches in North America.
There are three bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master suite has a comfy 4-poster queen bed. The second bedroom has a king bed, and the third bedroom has two twins that can be combined together to make another king bed. All of the beds offer luxurious linens, lots of pillows and both cool and warm comforters.
After a hard days work enjoying the sugar sand beaches of Lake Michigan or boating on Lake Hamlin, you can watch the historic Lake Michigan car ferry steam in through the harbor while enjoying a home cooked meal al fresco on the patio balcony. And, after everyone else in town has hung up their swimsuits for the night, you will have the option of hitting the private heated indoor pool and hot tub just down the hall.

We had a great time at the Carlson Condo in Ludington! The View of the Harbor and the Badger Ferry Boat out the window is fantastic! The beds are the most comfortable ever, and the condo is so beautiful and full of everything you would ever need. It also has a very nice pool/hot tub and is walking distance to everything in town. We really enjoyed our lunch at Chef John's Bakery and Cafe where everything is homemade (don't miss that!) and PM Steamers Restaurant on the water was excellent too. There is a great Brewery in town called Jamesport Brewing Company too. Scotty's on the outside of town was a good spot to eat too. Of course you can't beat the white sand beaches of the Ludington area! It is a great place to Vacation.

My family really enjoyed staying at this condo. The photos don't do it justice. This is a modern, yet homey, condo that is child friendly. My kids loved the view of the Badger, walking to the play area, and especially the pool and hot tub.

Staying at your condo was a great experience. The "loft" style made the space feel very spacious but at the same time it felt cozy. This was really appreciated due to the damp and rainy weather we experienced most of the stay. We WILL be adding this to our list of vacation rentals to revisit some time in the future. Thank you so much for letting our group stay in your condo. We didn't get to spend that much time in it because we were in town for wedding festivities and were always on the run! However, the beds were very comfortable and for that we were very thankful! We were especially glad to rent this unit because the wedding reception was across the street at the marina. Unfortunately, we never got the chance to use the pool or hot tub.

This condo was GREAT. Clean, Lots of space, comfy beds, fully stocked kitchen, and great view of the SS badger! I slept better here than I do at home. Kids had their own space and loved the heated indoor pool down the hall. Highly recommended.

We truly enjoyed our week at your Harbor Terrace Condo. It was everything we expected and more! Loved waking up each morning to the SS Badger docking outside our window. The location was perfect for spending time at the beach, the marina and shopping downtown. We hope to visit again soon and will recommend your condo to all our friends and relatives.

What a wonderful time we had at your condo in Ludington. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was well stocked, there was plenty of room for our group of six to spread out or come together to eat or play games at the dining room table. We enjoyed the patio and the view and my 4 year old grandaughter enjoyed announcing the arrival and departure of the SS BADGER. WE all really enjoyed the wonderful pool and hot tub just a few steps down the hall as we experienced some chilly weather part of the time we were there. The playground just a short block away was wonderful and we really enjoyed the beach, the restaurants and especially Ludington State Park. We had a great vacation!
