This historic Arts and Crafts Cottage is located one mile from Hendersonville's historic downtown walking area.
Built in the 1930's, this two story bungalow boasts of wide-plank pine floors, a majestic double fireplace, 3 upstairs bedrooms and 2 and 1/2 baths. The cottage is located in the Hyman Heights historical district of downtown, which has meandering lanes lined with Hendersonville's most unique and beautiful historic homes and is great for a nice walk. Spend the day browsing Hendersonville's great antique shops and crafters halls or enjoying the areas scenic beauty and waterfalls, then retreat to your edge-of-town bungalow to soak in your new hot tub for rest and preparation of another day.
The king bedroom is very plush and features a elegant four post bed. The queen bedroom features a private full bath with walk-in shower and beautiful wrought iron bed. The 3rd bedroom is adorably decorated in childhood memories and features two twin beds and tv. The cottage also has another full bath and a half bath. After exploring the interior of the cottage, it's exterior features will beacon you. There's a nice fenced yard for the kids and pets and an exclusive private courtyard where you'll find your private hot tub.

We had a marvelous time at the Kensington House. The decor was really nice, like it came from a cottage magazine photo. The back yard was great for our dog. The hot tub was in a private area beside the house, just off the back patio. There are several restaurants as well as downtown within about a mile. There is also a nice day spa about a two minute walk away. If you want something close to everything, search no further.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We were immediately impressed as we entered this home. Very well furnished and comfortable is the best way for us to describe this property. It was much better than we expected and it served as a great home base for us as we enjoyed and explored the surrounding area. It was wonderful and so reasonably priced. The restaurants we visited offered unique menus and special treats. We all highly recommend Kensington House Cottage. Great place to call 'home" if you will be staying in the area for any reason.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We made a last minute trip to Hendersonville and this place was perfect! It started with booking the cottage - I sent an e-mail via vrbo.com and received a response back within hours. Sandra was so easy going, helpful and sweet. The cottage itself was beautiful! It was so cozy comfortable - we made ourselves right at home. Another thing we appreciated was its proximity to downtown Hendersonville. This was a perfect getaway! Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Our family of nine spent ten days at Kensington House. It was so clean and well-equipped. We loved grilling in the courtyard and relaxing in the spacious living room. The Dick and Jane style room was so cute and nostalgic! Thanks Cranmore for such a lovely home to stay in.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had rented another place through this agency, wanting to be "away from it all". The first place was truly a dump, so we were moved here. This place was better, but still dissapointing. It is on a very busy street so traffic sounds were constant day and night. There is a hot tub, but it is hidden behind a wooden fence and is surrounded by weeds and grass. It was full of leaves and sand. Needless to say, we had no interest in using it. There is a double fireplace with gas logs, but signage on it says only one side can be lit at a time. I will say the beds were comfortable, so that was a plus. But it was far from the relaxing get away that we desired.Recommended for: Pet owners.

The house was nice and well kept, but there wasn't a hot tub and we couldn't figure out how to light the gas fireplace. When I contacted the owner regarding the hot tub issue, he didn't reply.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Kensington was the perfect place for our family retreat. Everything was so clean and nicely decorated. It was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. The fenced yard was great for our children to play in. We enjoyed playing games next to the fire in the spacious living room - enough seating for all 9 of us!. Thank you for providing such a peaceful, pleasant home-away -from-home for us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
