  • Beautiful property. The house is extraordinary and the views are awesome...we especially enjoyed the lake. Great local wineries and we also loved downtown Paso Robles..all the wine bars, shops and restaurants. Can't wait to go back again.

  • Our stay at House of Lauren was spectacular! The house is beautiful and fairly well maintained. We have stayed in a few other houses too and there are always "issues", but as long as we can work around them it's not that big a deal. Our group has a lot of chefs in it so a large kitchen that will fit 8 people working was a plus. The appliances and utensils are good quality and in good working order. The view was amazing and you're far enough away from the neighbors that you're not going to bother them unless you set off fireworks or something. The BBQ pit is big enough to cook steaks, corn and potatoes for 10 people at the same time. The stereo/tv is up to date and works well. We didn't need the A/C, but the heat worked well too. The owner was acommodating and helpful. Google directions lead us to a locked gate. Mapquest brought us right to the house without incident. On the minus side, because of table seating and beds available, I would not recommend any more than 12 people stay here. But I'm the kind of person who likes a little more space. The internet is kinda' slow and the wifi doesn't do well with multiple users on at the same time...but hey, you're on vacation in the country. We would definitely stay there again!

  • I just returned home from the most amazing weekend in Paso. The home is so beautiful, it was just a perfect weekend to celebrate my friends 50th birthday. The look on her face when she walked in the house was worth a million dollars. The beds were so comfortable and the bathrooms are very spatious. Everything was in perfect condition! We were all so amazed at how beautiful the house is with the high ceilings and the amazing view of the pond and the mountains in the background. Everything was perfect!   • My brother and I arranged for our family reunion with about 14 of us total, give or take a few (family and a few friends). The owner was a pleasure to work with while arranging the stay. He was honest, friendly, and very accommodative to our needs. We chose the site as it is in a very central location to our group, half of which drove from SF and the other half from SB and LA. The house is near enough to the 101 and 46 freeways and roads so that it is convenient, yet far enough to be quiet and peaceful. The house is a beautiful, large two- story wine country style estate house perched on a grassy hill. There was more than enough space to fit our group comfortably and there was a plethora of activities for us to enjoy in addition to one of the most relaxing atmospheres I have ever encountered. The lawn was so thick, green and soft that we ended one of the evenings in the shade of the willow tree in the front yard staring at the breath-taking sunset views to the west. Every side of the property has incredible views from the front yard to the back. The night sky is so clear that I often would break away from the group to lie in the grass and stare at the stars. The neighbors are about 100 yards away on the east side and south side (across the street) and about 500 yards or more away in the back past the lake. The caretaker lives adjacent to the house on the northwest side. Every window in the house has a view of rolling hills, big blue sky and/or a lake view. The property is inspirational and I still think about the house and our trip daily. I greatly look forward to returning to this immaculately well kept, clean, comfortable, plush, relaxing retreat. We had so much fun enjoying the peaceful afternoons and gorgeous weather that was hot in the day and crisp and cool at night that we actually didn't even make it down the road to a handful of wineries that are literally in walking distance if not biking distance. Next year we will most certainly take advantage of the location even more. We even went fishing at the lake and caught and released a few large mouth bass. With markets, great wineries, bars, a lake, two large perfect lawns, four to five star accommodations, beautiful views, a ping-pong table, a pool table, horseshoes, a Jacuzzi, a large built-in charcoal BBQ, many quality nearby golf courses (the list really does go on and on)... I challenge anyone to find a more appealing house for a relaxing get away to the wine country. The caretaker is also so non-invasive, kind, light-hearted and quiet that we tipped him when we left just to show our appreciation for everything. Thank you so much and I can't wait to return. This is the kind of house you never sell as the memories are priceless. I can't promise you will have as great of a time as we did (I certainly hope you do) but I can promise this is an incredible house in a convenient location, and is suitable for a great relaxing getaway with family or friends in wine country. Relax and have fun!

  • We had an amazing time staying at the House of Lauren! The location is perfect and the grounds are breathtaking! We stayed here for a wedding and had several young children in the house. The house was kid friendly and there were so many outdoor activities for them - fishing, volleyball, ducks and horses right next door! The owner was super nice and the caretaker on the property was unbelievably welcoming and accomodating. The house easily accomodates 8 people including a giant bedroom upstairs with two queen beds which is perfect for kids! We would stay here again anytime!!!!

  • Our group of 15 couples, with a few kids had a FANTASTIC weekend here in May 2008. The home is more beautiful than the photos. The owner is friendly, and the on-property caretaker is so helpful and such a pleasure that we invited him for dinner one night. Sleeping situation is bedroom 1 - king bed, bedroom 2 - queen bed, bedroom 3 - queen bed, bedroom 4 - 2 queens beds, living room one fold-out couch, and 2 inflatable air mattresses. The Paso La Quinta Inn is approximately 1 mile away, and is a great overflow for more bedrooms. Enjoy the jacuzzi and wireless internet. Lovely space, lots of towels, everything you will need for a great weekend.
