Four Mile Village is an uncrowded 36-home community set within a 210 acre nature preserve on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico.

"High Dune" cottage, secluded and low key is perched on the secondary dune, over 30 feet above sea level. It has a fine view of the Gulf on the South side and a wonderful view of a 50-acre freshwater dune lake, on which it fronts and has a private dock to the North.

The sugar white sandy beach with a private access for only Four Mile Village residents and their guests, is within easy walking distance. With air conditioning and the usual appliances the cottage is bright and cheerful.

A 2006 tenant wrote in our guest book, "Truly paradise. We had a wonderful time doing absolutely nothing but sun and fun!!!"

    • Stay on the property and tour the Coffeen Nature Preserve. Hiking trails offer guests the chance to view the remains of the military presence when this was range C-64, a secret missile test site. Concrete bunkers and launch ramps with the original tracks are still in place. Make an appointment with the caretakers to view the original military photographs stored in their residence, the old mess hall.

    • My family and I have stayed here every year since I was a baby (I am now 42). Now I also bring friends and new family here. Everyone agrees: what a special place in a beautiful setting. The coast to the front, and the lake in the back make this place so scenic and peaceful. The whole place is like a natural park, complete with wildlife. A very special house in a special place.

    • We've stayed at High Dune several times over the years. It's an old fashioned kind of beach house, well maintained, but definitely of the kind I remember from my childhood on the Oregon and California coasts. It has a wonderful feel to it, and everything you need. It's extremely private, and the front full length porch is just a great place to be, even when it's hot.
