Welcome to Captain John E. Williams home that resides on the "Captain's Walk". The "Captain's Walk" was famous in the 1800's as the homes were generally owned by Sea Captains and were the finest in the town. They are all waterfront properties, across from the Mystic Seaport, with incredible views. At the same time they are a simple 2 minute stroll to the heart of down town Mystic, famous for the Mystic River & Park, Mystic Pizza and numerous historic shops and restaurants.
The Captain's home has been completely remodeled. However it retains the rare architecture and materials from when Captain Williams built it in 1861, including original moldings, wood plank floors, fireplaces and doors. This is truly a rare home that whispers of the past every moment you are in it.
We are very proud to offer this to a few select visitors and the home has been on the Mystic Seaport Home Tours. It is the only way to enjoy Mystic and a experience a taste of American History. It offers all modern conveniences without changing its original architectural beauty and charm. In addition, we have complimented this Sea Captains home with authenticate pieces that are famous for New England and the early American era.
This exceptional 150 year old home is of Museum quality, with all modern day conveniences and more amenities than a hotel.
