If you travel with your dog(s) this is the place! Our 2 dogs enjoyed our vacation as much as we did. The yard is perfect and carefree fun for the dogs. The yard is also set up to enjoy the beautiful Keys weather. Shade or sun, whichever you are in the mood for. The screened porch area was perfect for our evening meals where we could enjoy the night without any bugs. The location is convenient to everything, with many good fun shopping, restaurants and bars nearby. The owners are very attentive to your every need and the home is clean and has everything you will need if you want to prepare meals rather than eat out. We hope to return soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.

Would highly recommend this rental to all my friends and family. Great restaurants very close by, grocery stores near also. Large fenced yard with not one but two doggy doors. Very safe and quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed the large screened porch too. The owners are the best. Have never stayed in a rental where the owners have provided not just all the necessities but extras as well (ice cream)!! Hope to visit again and again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.

We had a fabulous vacation in the Keys due to the wonderful hospitality given to us at our stay in this Keys home. It was very clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed during our stay. We really felt as though we were living in paradise this week! We loved laying in the hammock and playing the provided board games on the lit patio under the palm trees! We were in close proximity of the John Pennecamp Park which was perfect with the ramp for our boat, their small Aquarium, and the beaches within 8 minutes of the home. Great overall experience, and we would highly recommend it. Thank you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I wish everyone could go to this very special place. It is everything and much more. The yard was lite up when we arrived and that was our begining of a wonderful vacation. The rental was very clean and well kept and everything you could want and need for your stay. Our dog was in her glory to be able to roam freely and play and lounge when ever she wanted. The owners left their State Park Pass for us to use and there was alot of great shops and never a dull moment.I feel I could go on and on BUT, you have to just go and see for yourself. We will be back in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We enjoy traveling with our 4 dogs and to find accommodations that support them vacationing with us is hard to find. Well, here is the home for you; "Our Key's Home". Look no further is you wish to enjoy your Key's vacation in a centrally located area of Key Largo. The home is clean, crisp, and has all the general necessities you will need to just bring your clothes and toys; that is it - the home even has a washer and dryer so you can pack light; and includes all the basic kitchen items needed. The owners have a year round state park pass which saved us over $9 a day, which is a big plus they want to make their guests happy. The big yard was so accommodating for my yellow lab pup to play ball; and being totally fenced allowed me the freedom to just let them out to play on their own and in the middle of the night (they could not grasp the dog door idea at night - there are two dog doors available). As well as the dogs enjoyment; there is a nice screened in porch attached to home and outside patio furniture/gazebo type cover to enjoy the outdoors. Gas/Charcoal Grill; bikes, etc. Our reservation process was professional, easy, and with quick response; the stay and check out were great as well. The Owners, April and Dave, are knowledgeable and helpful. The "Our Key's Home" comes highly recommended by us and we are hoping to stay there again in 2013. This home is the owners home, you can see the love and care this home has in it; it is not just a rental home; it is a place to enjoy and relax; everything is there for you, you are a guest. ........ Publix, Winn-Dixie (nice one), K-Mart, Beall's Outlet are within a mile; the Conch House Lunch was excellent; if you have children Robbies place to feed the Tarpon; John Pennecamp State Park Glass Bottom Boat a must; Tower Pizza is excellent; and a must to enjoy your trip, visit the Chamber of Commerce for discounts, etc. Thank you April and Dave for sharing your keys home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Everything that has been said on this site is true! Our Keys Home is spacious, comfortable, clean, and convenient to all that the Keys has to offer. The linens are nice, kitchen fully stocked, A/C is great, and the yard is beautiful. Thank you to Dave and April for you kindness and hospitality. This is a great property to base your dive trip from. We rinsed our gear in the yard and pulled it into the porch in the evening to finish drying. We received our deposit refund very promptly. - Great service! Tips: Go to Pennekamp State Park. There are 2 beaches. We found great snorkeling at the beach closest to the entrance, and nice sand and less crowds at the Far Beach. Check out the aquariums at the Visitor's Center. Dave and April let you use their park pass. This can't be beat! Have a beverage at Caribbean Club while watching the sunset. If coming from MIA airport and renting a car, you can travel to the Keys without taking the toll roads. Our car rental agency wanted $36 to use the toll roads - not worth the 2 times we would have been on them! Get directions via Dixie Highway if this applies. Thanks again! - Jenny and MikeRecommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

My dad, brother and I stayed here for a three day fishing trip over a long weekend and could not have been happier with our stay. The home was immaculately clean with an inviting decore that made it feel like a home away from home. Centrally located in Key Largo, it was only a short drive to our fishing charters, grocery store and restaurants. It was a pleasure speaking to and dealing with Dave throughout the entire rental process, and he was kind enough to make suggestions for travel routes and grocery stores and that he would be available at any time to address any questions or concerns. We look forward to future stays at this wonderful home for all of our future fishing and diving excursions in the keys.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Wonderful vacation at 'Our Keys Home'. It has everything one needs and more; A/C, fully stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, great Florida room to enjoy the breeze, Direct TV in case it rains. The photos are accurate and the home was extremely clean and Dave and April were great to work with and promptly answered all of our questions. Some recomendations for places to eat and things to do. Sundowner's restaurant is fantastic! Great food and wonderful sunset views. Head south to Robbie's to hand feed Tarpon (fun for all ages!) or if you are into diving check out Horizon Divers - great staff! Oh and Conch House for lunch - relaxing views on the veranda. We would definitely book this place again if we head back to the Key Largo!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was a fun cottage with all the necessities needed for a great dive trip to Key Largo. Very close and convenient to many great Dive sites and Penny Camp State Park. The cottage was clean with plenty of room and decorated very nicely. All the basics were included like: wi-fi, laundry, full kitchen, whirl pool tub, a hammack for two, bikes, BBQ gas grill, a seasonal pass to the Florida state parks, and best of all a large screened in porch with large table perfect for meals outside without the bugs. Located in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from US1. One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in, we highly recommend it. The owners were very nice and helpful; they promptly mailed back an item that was left behind.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is the second time we stayed in Our Keys Home. And we'll be back next year. It has all the amenities, from the fully equipped kitchen to great nearby restuarants. The property is exactly as the decription and the pictures. The only surprises were that it feels bigger that it looks in the VRBO site. Bring your dogs, boats, snorkel, and a appetite. You wont be disapointed.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a comfortable home which was accurately described and well outfitted. The property was clean and well maintained. We were able to bring our 5 dogs which was great. We enjoyed walking them through the neighborhood and found a cut through on Gale Place that opened up another and nicer neighborhood making it possible to walk for about an hour without much overlap. The fenced yard is large enough but the dogs did not like the gravel surface so did not play as usual. It would have been nice if there were some lounge chairs. There is plenty of shade or sun whichever is your preference. Our favorite restaraunts were Sundowners (Maru is the best server) and The Big Chill both having wonderful sunsets. If you like rock and roll you must go to the local spot of The Carribean Club, Luke and his band are fantastic! We were disappointed with Pennecamp which is small with lackluster beaches. We would reccomend this property to anyone who wants to bring their dogs along.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners.

The description and photos of this property are very accurate, the gazebo in the yard is an excellent place to relax . . the home is very clean, well maintained and so well organized . . everything you need is provided and it is perfect for the dogs. The two doggie doors provided my two terriers with access to the outside as well as the screened in porch where they loved to lay in the sun. Dave was very helpful with any questions I had and the pass to the Pennekamp Park he provided was the highlight of my trip. The nature trails there are wonderful for walking the dogs (one is a boardwalk thru the mangroves) and I had the place pretty much to myself in early morning trips. This is an amazing park with snorkel and beach areas, kayaking, scuba diving, picnic and camping areas. The house is in an excellent location with Publix grocery just down the road, bike paths, great restaurants and access to the Everglades. It is a nice quiet neighborhood where I felt very safe even travelling alone. Thanks to Dave and April for sharing their lovely place.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed in this Keys Home in Oct of 2010 and June of 2011. We were delighted with it both times. I call this review the Inside Story for two reasons. One is that the exterior shot of this property doesn't begin to do it justice. The second is that I own and operate vacation rentals for a living, and so have an insider's perspective to contribute. As to the first reason, the exterior view appears to be a doublewide trailer. I can assure you that the inside is spacious, very well furnished and equipped, and immaculately clean. In particular, there is no evidence that pets are permitted in this rental, even though they are. No pet hair or faint lingering scents anywhere. Non-pet-owners needn't worry at all on this account. In addition the grounds are spotless, too. The very large screened lanai or porch is barely visible in the exteior photo. It, too, is well furnished and comfortable and this is where you'll spend much of your time, from morning coffee to evening dinners, whether from the large and capable kitchen or carryouts from Publix or one of the numerous nearby restaurants. The one caveat I have applies only to the very tall. I am six-four and the kitchen light fixture and I coexist in a mutual, if wary, respect! As to the second reason, the owners have really streamlined the rental process for their guests. They have a compact lease agreement (and believe me, you do want a signed lease from the owner of any vacation rental.) They have no cleaning fee, they do expect their guests to take good care of things and leave the property in substantially the same condition they found it. (Cleaners do come in to launder linens and make up the beds, among other things, after each guest leaves.) They have many consumable kitchen staples in the house such as condiments, spices, paper goods and cleaning supplies. They ask, but don't require, their guests to replace those items they use up. They provide a pass to the Pennekamp Park, a savings for those of us that bring our boats and launch there or use the snorkeling and glass-bottom boat tours (highly recommended) located there. In short, the owners have eliminated as many extra costs as they can for you and provided things many other rentals do not. A note about the location: It is hard to find a place in the keys that is both quiet and traffic free, but close to the places you want to go. There is no highway noise here yet you are only blocks from groceries or Pennekamp.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners.

My husband and I spent a full month here. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable time we have ever spent in Florida. Key Largo truly lives up to its name.."Paradise" and Our Keys Home was the perfect place to be. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. Our dog was totally comfortable. The amenities were beyond what we expected... tv in every room and air conditioning in every room as well. John Pennekamp State Park was so great we went there everyday, thanks to the free pass provided. Thanks Dave and April for sharing your wonderful home. Just returned from 3 nights in this great clean home. This is the first home I have ever rented which truly meets and exceeds the written description. The home has a fully stocked kitchen as well as plenty of towel and linens. The furniture is comfortable and truly like being in your own home. The home was perfectly centrally located in a quiet neighborhood and just down the road from John Pennekamp State Park. As advertised this is a truly pet friendly home. We brought 2 dogs with us for the weekend. The home is fully fenced and even comes with a full container of doggy toys just inside porch. I would happily return to this home and highly recommend it to others.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing.

This home is much bigger than we had anticipated, impeccably clean and adorably decorated. It has everything and anything you need right there at your finger tips. My husband and our girls, (Bailey and Pepper) had a great time relaxing in the yard, enjoying the State Park nearby, cooking on the commercial style outside grill and relaxing in the hammock. The jacuzzi tub was a wonderful surprise after our 12 hour drive to get to the keys, but the drive was worth it. I can honestly say was one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever spent. We enjoyed our evenings on the huge screen in room and "the girls" enjoyed getting friendly with the neighbors. The flat screen TV's and Wi-fi were also much appreciated extras. I understand why the owners David and April call this "Our Keys Home" because it truly is a home away from home. My husband and I have already reserved for a week next year. We can't wait!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and I stayed at "Our Keys home" last April and we loved it! Although we did not bring our pets, it was still perfect for us! It was very clean for a pet friendly home. We have an 8yr old daughter and 2yr old son. The home is not "childproof" for most children. There are many nice, glass and ceramic decor but our children know what they are supposed to touch and play with and what not! They loved the cute tropical decor and the big bath tub! It was private where we coud relax on the patio while the kids played in the fenced in yard. We spent our first few days just lounging around. There is a friendly cat, "Boots" who lives across the street and he will come visit you. The kids really liked playing with Boots. Good location near many stores and attractions. Pennekamp Park pass a huge plus!!! The owners are very nice and helpful! I would definatley stay again next time we visit Key Largo!Recommended for: Pet owners

We spent a lovely 2 weeks in this cozy, clean home. It is certainly spacious enough. Dave & April provide all of the conveniences one can image. They were kind enough to allow a friend to stay a few days, and all of the bedrooms had comfortable beds. The kitchen was bright and roomy. The bath provided a nice jacuzzi tub which sure helps with arthritis, and the washer & dryer conveniently located. The living area has a good sized tv screena & tv's are provided in all rooms, and a nice combo of music cd's are available. We all enjoyed the screened in porch very much & utiilized the 2 sitting areas outdoors. Dave & April even love animals & provide a doggy door, toys and a vet's number in case of illness. The yard is spacious and all is surely done as described in the introduction to their home. Nearby is restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, shopping areas, water sport, a dolphin center, and a state park with 2 small beaches & a fish area. A hop, skip & a jumb down the road is Marathon, etc. where on your way you can check out other state parks. The one that is absolutely delightful is 10 miles south of Marathon called Bahia Honda State Park. Lovely beaches, etc. We sue will not forget how kind and helpful and polite Dave & April are and how they made our stay so incredibly easy to enjoy, thank you agin.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

We just returned from two weeks at Dave and April's Key Largo home (husband, wife, daughter, and grandma). We miss it already! It's not your typical rental and has all the ammenities of home, plus much better weather! It's a safe, quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to restaurants, gorcery stores, and K Mart. We easily saved over $100 by using the state park pass. Dave and April are great to work with and have made every effort to make their guests feel right at home. May 26, 2009 Dear Dave & April, Thanks for opening your home to us. It is obviously a home and not just a rental. It's clean, cozy and very comfortable. We had a wonderful, busy time during the day and enjoyed relaxing in the yard, stretched out in the hammock each evening. Listening to the palms swaying softly in the breeze and counting the stars as they appeared in the night sky was a great way to end the day. Buster Brown, our Britanny Spaniel, appreciated having room to roam, too. Thanks for making our 35th anniversary so special. Elaine & Denny Orange Park, FLDid you find this review helpful? My husband and I stayed at "our keys home" for two weeks and our experience was such that we have already made arrangements for next year. Dave and April made us feel so welcome and so immediately at ease. Our dog Ollie loved the doggie doors and the freedom of the huge yard. As an avid cook I found the kitchen to be well equiped with everything a cook can possibly need. We thought that we would have to venture far from Key Largo to fill our two weeks but with the pass to Pennekamp and the close proximity to other attractions we didnt have to travel much and could realax and enjoy ourselves. This was definately the best vacation experience I've ever had.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay at Dave & April's home in Key Largo was great! It was like a home away from home. Comfy, cozy & clean. Everything you need. Our 16 yr. old daughter was thrilled with the hammock in the back yard. Our dogs, Jessie and James settled right in. They acted like they were home. The fenced in yard was nice, we didn't have to worry about them getting loose. We enjoyed a glass bottom boat ride, jet skiing, a fishing trip at night on a boat charter. "Theater by the Sea" was really nice, only a short drive to Islamorda. Were looking forward to staying again at Dave & April's. It was really worth it!! Check it out for yourself. :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I stayed at this unit last weekend and it was a most pleasant stay. From the moment you walk in the spacious accommodations, you realize that you are in the home of someone who takes great pride in the appearance and upkeep of their home. You feel like you are staying in a friends home rather than a rental property. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen comes fully equipped, and you have satelite TV in three rooms. If that's not enough, you have an enormous screened room on the side with three fans to cool you off. It was late July when we were there and each night we sat in the screened room and were very comfortable. The unit is very centrally located and close to all of the fine restaurants in the Key Largo area. It even comes with a complimentary pass for you to visit and explore John Pennekamp State Park. We will be back to enjoy this place again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I have stayed at this beautiful home several times and have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I was able to bring my 2 dogs who had a great time being able to come and go through the doggie doors and have the run of the yard. I also brought my 27 ft. boot and enjoyed SCUBA diving at nearby Pennecamp Park. The bathroom is larger than in my own house! The owners are very friendly and it shows that they take very good care and pride in their home. You won't be disappointed!Owner response: Thanks for the kind words Michele! You and Gary (And of course Harley & Zeplin) are welcome to come back any time. You're great guests. Dave & April
