Welcome to the Bass Lake Lodge! Where you will find the beauty of a quiet lake and amenities to make you feel like you are at home. Pets are NOT allowed and No Smoking inside the rental.
The Bass Lake Lodge is located on Bass Lake six miles outside of Traverse City. Bass Lake is a small, spring-fed lake that is nestled between Silver Lake and Long Lake. It is a 343 acre all sports lake which offers a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. It also offers beautiful fall colors!
There are four islands on the lake, each one making it more unique. There is a small public beach and boat launch which is located one mile away from the house. The south end of the lake is surrounded by State Lands and a girl scout camp, which offers a nice spot for fishing.
The Bass Lake Lodge is centrally located; six miles to Traverse City and seven miles to Interlochen. (Interlochen is home to the Interlochen Center for the Arts National Music Camp.)
The Bass Lake Lodge is 1250 square feet and is filled with knotty pine paneling and tongue and groove boards throughout the home, which gives it a beautiful 'cabin' feeling.
Remodeled in winter of 2009 - new carpeting, light fixtures, drywall/paint, porcelain and limestone tile.
The bathroom was remodeled in winter of 2010 - new tub, porcelain tile and commode. A new couch, reclining chairs and dining room table set were added as well.
A custom kitchen was added in the fall of 2011; offering hickory cabinets (filled with everything imaginable to make cooking meals a breeze). A new 'larger' refridgerator (with an icemaker and water dispenser) and a dishwasher were addedl. The porcelain floor tile accentuates the coordinating countertoop and backsplash - which give you lots of room for preparing food.
The landscape of the home has soft grass (summertime) and lots of flowers. A bonfire pit is located near the water and is surrounded by a large concrete patio. (Firewood is provided for your convenience.) There is a large deck on the back of the home which overlooks the lake and a beautiful sunrise. There is a 4' x 40' dock on the water. The rental includes the use of a row boat and a 5 person paddle boat (summertime only). Life jackets are provided.
There is also (private) WIFI at the rental.
Come to The Bass Lake Lodge to relax and enjoy beautiful Northern Michigan.

The Bass Lake Lodge - Winter Available!!! Summer 2012!!!
Year Purchased: 2000
Why the Owner Chose Traverse City
This home was built by my Father and Grandfather. After purchasing it and living in it for several years, I turned it into a vacation rental as my job took me out of town for several years. I enjoy the rental business and decided to keep it going after I returned to the area.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The Bass Lake Lodge is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood that is conveniently located to Traverse City, Interlochen and many other area attractions. It is set on a 343 acre, all sports lake which offers great fishing. The rental is filled with lots of extra amenities that will make your vacation that much better! The rental has a fantastic view of the sunrise as well. And, the owner lives nearby in case you need anything special.
Legendary steak and seafood restaurant. Outdoor patio available in nice weather. 5 minutes away!
18 hole public golf course and a driving range. Restaurant and bar located at the '19th hole.'
Owner's Map of Traverse City
Originally built by my Father and Grandfather, the rental has been part of my family for many years. Throughout the years it has been remodeled, with the most recent updates being done in winter of 2009 and winter 2010. I grew up down the street from the rental, then resided in it for several years until a job transfer moved me out of town. At which time I turned it into a vacation rental. Since then, I have moved back and now live across the street from the rental.
The neighborhood is definately the place to be! I refer to it as my own little piece of Heaven. Most of the residents in the area have been there for quite some time. It is located off of the 'beaten path' but is still close to everything!
I have put a lot of thought into the rental with the intention of making your vacation as easy and enjoyable for you as possible. From linens to everything you might need in the kitchen as well as firewood and life vests are just a few of the no charge extras that I provide. It is exactly as it is advertised, no surprises! Previous guests have thanked me and provided me several nice comments on the rental, check out my comments from previous guests to learn more!
I hope you will be as excited to vacation at The Bass Lake Lodge as I am to live in this wonderful area!

Far enough away from the busy-ness of Traverse City & close to quiet, solitude, nature and relaxation. Fishing is great--bass & bluegill. Fantastic sunrises. Bring your camera & binoculars. Our autumn stay was ideally timed and I look forward to spending time on Bass Lake in the summer & winter as well. Can you imagine the lake frozen...ice skating, ice fishing and staying cozy & warm by the wood burning fireplace. And in the summer! What a great place for swimming & playing in the sun. Stay here and you'll experience the best Northern Michigan has to offer at an affordable price in a clean, comfortable home.

Our family (daughter, son-in-law, grandson #1, son, daughter-in-law, new baby grandson #2, my husband and I) gathered at the Bass Lake Lodge for Thanksgiving weekend. The accommodations were perfect--extremely clean, comfortable, inviting, and family-friendly. There were so many thoughtful touches--a lovely welcome note and gift from the owner, games/puzzles/books/toys for visitors of all ages, directions to nearby attractions, firepit with wood ready--I could go on and on. The ktichen was so well-stocked that we were able to pull off a complete Thanksgiving dinner with very little difficulty. It was the relaxing family holiday weekend I have been dreaming of! We will definitely be back!
Owner response:I am thrilled to know that your Thanksgiving dinner was a success! And, it warms my heart to know that you appreciated all of the extra ammenities that I offer! Thank you for the terrific review. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Second Stay Even Better Than the First

We enjoyed the cabin and our hosts two years ago,and got the opportunity to return this year. My daughter and her husband met us there for the weekend. How beautiful! Especially the mornings with the rising sun shining on the lake and the ducks making their morning forage. I would like to come back some time and fish the lake. The owners are very gracious and keep the place spotless. I know we will be back again, and maybe our kids will come up here on their own as well! We all enjoyed the local wineries and the scenery. We hit Sleders bar several times for their burgers and the Friday fish fry.
Owner response:Thanks for the return visit Brad! Glad you all enjoyed your stay. Hoping to see you again soon!

Thank you Jennifer for another great visit to the cabin (our fourth). Again we enjoyed the fishing, the sunrises, the evenings in front of the fire place, and dinner at Boone's Long Lake Inn. This visit we also witnessed the spectacular autumn change of colors. We had a minor incident at the cottage and we truly appreciate your understanding and professionalism. Thank you for the cherry treats. We look forward to returning soon.
Owner response:Thanks for the great review Brandi! It is always a pleasure to have you as a guest. I appreciate your 'heads up' about the incident - no problem! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

My husband and I are veterans of vacation rentals, have been renting cottages for 24 years. I have a lot of good things to say about this rental and will sum it up in 3 words - rent this cottage! Clean, nicely decorated, very well equipped, lovely sunrises over the lake, convenient to many attractions. 15 minutes from Traverse City. Peaceful surroundings, nice neighbors (when theyare there). Owners very nice and helpful. When we are in the area again, this is the first place we will try to rent.

Extraordinary Lake Cabin

My wife and I spent an enjoyable week in this beautiful and fully furnished cabin on beautiful Bass Lake. The cabin was everything we expected, and then some. It appears that the owner takes great pride in the quality of the furnishings, and the cabin itself. The kitchen was fully equipped for all of our needs, and had extras like a toaster that we did not expect. The neighbors next door pointed us to a couple of local restaurants, Boones, and Giovanni's, both of which had very good food. This rental does not have air conditioning, but this caused us no problems whatsoever because of the cool Michigan summer weather we experienced. I would recommend this property to anyone interested in a quiet spot by the lake with easy access to Traverse City. We are already thinking about our next trip to the Bass Lake Lodge.

We stayed at Bass Lake Lodge June 4th-11th. 2011. We were very happy with the lodge, the owner went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. All of the little things that make a stay special. It was very clean and cozy. Close to town yet off of the main drag. Beautiful sun rises over the lake and a million dollar view, we seen Bald eagles and loons and we were close to several lakes which we checked out and did very well fishing. The week went by way to fast. We are already talking about next year!

A group us (6 adults) stayed at the Bass Lake Lodge...In March 2011 for 4 days of wine tasting. The house was so clean and very well maintained. We enjoyed the each night by the fireplace drinking the days "New Wine Finds". We took a walk on the frozen lake, and watched the deer play from the breath taken view from the deck. Jennifer was so helpful and accommodating. We hope to visit the Bass Lake lodge again very soon!
