The Bass Lake Lodge is 1250 square feet and is filled with knotty pine paneling and tongue and groove boards throughout the home, which gives it a beautiful 'cabin' feeling. Remodeled in winter of 2009 - new carpeting, light fixtures, drywall/paint, porcelain tile and limestone tile. The landscape of the home has soft grass (summertime) and lots of flowers. Why the Owner Chose Traverse City

This home was built by my Father and Grandfather. After purchasing it and living in it for several years, I turned it into a vacation rental as my job took me out of town for several years. I enjoy the rental business and decided to keep it going after I returned to the area.

The Unique Benefits at this House

The Bass Lake Lodge is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood that is conveniently located to Traverse City, Interlochen and many other area attractions. It is set on a 343 acre, all sports lake which offers great fishing. The rental is filled with lots of extra amenities that will make your vacation that much better! The rental has a fantastic view of the sunrise as well. And, the owner lives nearby in case you need anything special.

Owner's Map of Traverse City

Originally built by my Father and Grandfather, the rental has been part of my family for many years. Throughout the years it has been remodeled, with the most recent updates being done in winter of 2009. I grew up down the street from the rental, then resided in it for several years until a job transfer moved me out of town. At which time I turned it into a vacation rental. Since then, I have moved back and now live across the street from the rental.

The neighborhood is definately the place to be! I refer to it as my own little piece of Heaven. Most of the residents in the area have been there for quite some time. It is located off of the 'beaten path' but is still close to everything!

I have put a lot of thought into the rental and try to make your vacation as easy for you as possible. From linens to everything you might need in the kitchen as well as firewood and life vests are just a few of the no charge extras that I provide. It is exactly as it is advertised, no surprises! Previous guests have thanked me and provided me several nice comments on the rental, check out my comments from previous guests to learn more!

I hope you will be as excited to vacation at The Bass Lake Lodge as I am to live in this wonderful area!

    • This is a wonderful place to stay. Would recommend it to anyone. Our hosts were very gracious. The morning views over the lake were breathtaking! We enjoyed the fireplace several evenings. The house had all the amenities we needed--and more. We had a wonderful week. Thank you.

    • We love the Bass Lake Lodge! We stayed at the cottage for onr week in August and had a wonderful time. Our family of five (including 2 parents, children ages 6 & 8, and grandma) found that there was always something to do for everyone. We loved fishing off the dock, rowing around to explore the lake, swimming, sitting on the deck enjoying the view, and roasting marshmellows by the campfire. This cottage is in a great location...we were close to T.C. but also close to all the fun stuff we love to do in Leland, Glen Arbor, and at the Dunes. The cottage was extremely well-kept, clean, and equipped. It is better than having your own place. We prepared most of our meals in the kitchen or on the grill and had everything we needed. Every little thing is thought of...life jackets, marshmellow roasting sticks, board games, fishing poles, and even a couple beach toys for the kids. Jennifer and her family are gracious hosts! Thank you for sharing this very special place with our family. The kids are already begging to come back!

    • Thank you for such a lovely weekend away. The house is so clean and comfortable and very well stocked with everything you need in a home. Waking up to the beautiful mist covered lake and the sounds of acorns falling off the trees sure beats waking up to noisy traffic and airplanes flyimg overhead. The rowboat was a great way to get out on the lake right away but we also rented kayaks to explore the other sides of the lake. The house was close to town, shopping and church. We also spent a day each at Sleeping Bear Dunes/Leelanau Penninsula and Mackinac Island. Jennifer, the owner, obviously takes pride in her house and wants everything to be just right to enjoy your stay.

      Homeowner Response:
Thank you Maureen! I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay. And, I am thankful that the thought and effort I put into my vacation rental is appreciated so much. 'It is meant to be your home away from home during your stay.'

    • Our stay at the Bass Lake Lodge was very enjoyable. The cottage is very cozy and very equiped with whatever one needs. The lake was good for fishing and many were put back for another year to grow. Our stay was plesant and quite. The lake is not busy and we could see the fish jumping on the mornings and some loons fishing during the day.

    • My son, goddaughter and I enjoyed a wonderful week at the Bass Lake Lodge in late June/early July and boy were we impressed. The cottage was super clean, well-laid out and comfortably furnished as well as fully supplied with all the necessities for a week of vacation on the lake (right down to the corn cob holders, marshmallow roasting sticks and ice cream scoop - nothing was forgotten). We also enjoyed the shallow, sandy lake bottom for swimming, gorgeous lakefront views, the rowboat and the firepit complete with firewood. Thank you Jennifer for your hospitality during our stay :) We will be back.......

    • We spent a week in July at Bass Lake Lodge and had a great time. The house was nicely appointed with plenty of room for 5 people. The rowboat allowed my 12-year old daughter and 13-year old son the freedom to explore the lake and successfully fish for bass on their own, while the back deck was captained by my wife and "Grandma". Kingfishers, loons, pileated woodpeckers, and a muskrat provided local color. And it's a very convenient location to explore the area. A great week of R&R!

    • We enjoyed every minute at Bass Lake Lodge! The cottage was very clean with excellent beds, comfortable furniture and everything we needed for a multi-night stay. The care the owners give the property and the pride they have in it is very evident both inside and out. One bonus is the good fishing! We caught enough large bluegills off the dock for dinner one night! We can heartily recommend Bass Lake Lodge for anyone looking for a very comfortable, resonably priced and well maintained accomodation on a beautiful northern lake. Alan and Connie Fowler

    • My husband & I have stayed at Bass Lake Lodge many times and have enjoyed the accommodations and the area. Our most recent visit was January 2009, there was 3 feet of snow on the ground and the house was warm and with the fire roaring it was a perfect place to watch the snow around us. We enjoyed watching the deer gather on the lake and settle in at the island across the lake. Thanks for a wonderful place to get away and relax.
