Adorable, fully-furnished, and completely equipped duplex on the beach on a private and exclusive road in beautiful Malibu. This
duplex is on the second floor of a two story house, has it's own entrance and parking.
Have your morning coffee on a large deck right on the beach. Gorgeous tidepools, surfing, and kayaking right out your door. Whitewater views from every window and door. The kitchen, which contains everything you need for meal preparation, has granite counters and hardwood floors.
The apartment is bright, cozy, and beautifully furnished with wicker, tropical fabrics, shells, and top-of-the-line linens. You will want to come back every year. We have just replaced all the living room furniture and added a 42" flat wide screen TV. We have high speed wireless internet.
The duplex is located five minutes from downtown Malibu, close to restaurants, movies, coffee houses, and great shopping. You are only 45 minutes from the Los Angeles airport and one hour from Santa Barbara. Enjoy on-site surfing, swimming, kayaking, boogie boarding, fishing, paddle boarding and biking (bikes included).
We are 30-40 minutes from some wonderful museums - The Getty, L.A. County Museum of Art, and Museum of Contemporary Art.
For the serious shoppers, Beverly Hills is only 45 minutes away, and we have your choice of amusement parks and theatre in the Los Angeles area.

We had a wonderful stay in Malibu a few weeks ago. It was our first time using VRBO so we were a bit apprehensive, but the property was nicer than we expected. The location is fantastic; just 5 mins from the "hub" of Malibu, at the end of a quiet residential street, and down the hill from the busy route 1. The apartment is furnished to a high standard, and stocked with everything you could need for your stay. Great views out of every room, and literally just steps down from the deck onto the beach. At high tide the water comes right up under the deck, but at low tide the beach is about 25 metres. We were surprised to find the apartment took up the lower level of the main house, given the description on VRBO. This meant the south-east facing lower deck only received sunlight until mid-morning, but it wasn't an issue as there were loungers we could use on the beach. During our stay the weather was cooler than average, which made being in the sun more important, but later in summer I would imagine the shade being more welcome. Dolphins swam by most days, and the area is very popular with surfers and paddle-boarders, adding vitality to the otherwise peaceful beach area.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Jackie & Stu, Priscilla & I just wanted to drop you a quick note to tell you how much we enjoyed the beach house for our vacation in Malibu. What can I say? Perfect location, perfect weather, and the house came with everything needed to create then perfect get-away. Priscilla loved the little beach decorations and knickknacks. With views of the beach right outside through large windows in every room you couldn't ask for a better ocean experience. But honestly, we spent very little time in the house itself. Coffee and then breakfast on the patio, a nice walk on the beach, lunch on the patio, then scuba diving the reef right out in front of the house or kayaking or just reading in beach chairs on the sand, maybe a nap, then barbecued dinner on the patio, quite talk and coffee as we watched the sun set, and then finally off to bed and a deep sound sleep inspired by the soothing music of the surf right outside our window. Every day we watched dolphins and whales and seals playing right out in front of us. We were also impressed with the quality of your neighbors. There was always a smile and a polite, welcoming greeting from a passing neighbor. If we wanted to socialize and engage in a conversation, the people were always happy chat. But if we wanted privacy, we were left alone. The beach house itself was clean, and (important to Priscilla) smelled as fresh as the beach. Of course there was a nice flat screen TV (didn't waste much time with that), microwave oven, and all the kitchen appliances and gadgets we could hope for. The bed was rich and comfortable, and there was plenty of closet and cabinet space. And now the negatives. Well, gee... we can't think of any! :) We have rented several times from VRBO over the years, and we would highly recommend your beach house as being better than advertised! We felt the rental cost of the house was under-priced for the location and amenities. Even at that price, it was a stretch for our budget, and we are hoping it doesn't go up so that we can return next year (it was well worth the stretch!). That's it.
