The Circle H Lodge is on the Circle H Ranch near Leakey, Texas. The ranch is located along the Balcones Escarpment of the Edwards Plateau, an area of Texas noted for its magnificent scenery and its many natural springs and streams, all of which are present within the ranch boundaries.
The ranch is devoted to the preservation of wildlife. The beautiful hills and valleys are home to many species of both native and non-native animals. Animals from Africa, Asia and Europe are presently roaming free and thriving on the Circle H. As a result of many migratory bird routes crossing this area, the opportunities for bird watching are almost limitless. The bird spectrum, from songbirds to raptors, can be observed on a daily basis.
Nestled in the hills at the end of a lovely, secluded valley, the Circle H Lodge is like stepping into the Old West. Built of native limestone in the early 1900s, and recently renovated, it is filled with antiques and cowboy - Indian memorabilia. It is centrally heated and air conditioned, has a very large and well-equipped kitchen and four bedrooms which will accommodate up to eight guests. Two spring-fed streams, which meet in front of the lodge, flow into the natural rock swimming pool.
