Our French home for 2 weeks
Our 2 weeks in Sarlat was part of a one month stay in Portugal and France. The house was perfect as a place to be able to stay in touch with work, tour the local area and markets, and have some fabulous food - we ate at a different restaurant every night using recommendations from our host. The location was quiet and peaceful, and the walk into and back from town was easily managed. We would definitely stay again.

Relaxing getaway in a peaceful setting
We had a lovely stay. It is a nice, large house equipped with anything you could need. Magnificent views in a quiet setting. The house is setup well for families wanting to cook meals at home. Sarlat is a cute town, easy to walk and filled with friendly people. Be prepared for a long, steep walk up and down the driveway to the town center is my one bit of advice.

The perfect mix of town and countryside. What a great location and wonderful house
We thought this was a great place to stay for our week in the Dordogne. Sarlat is a good base for experiencing much of the region. The house was a quick walk to the old center of town. It was even closer to a grocery store and bakery (about 5 minutes). But it was enough out of town that it felt like being in the countryside—it’s on a beautiful property with flowers, fruit trees, and a great view. There was a nice outdoor table for eating. We were staying with a baby and a toddler, and the house and yard were great for young kids. We really appreciated that there were useful items like a high chair and baby bathtub. The only slight challenge with the location was that the road is unpaved so it was a workout to push the stroller on it. Otherwise the only downside to the property is that you have to pay extra for towels and linens. We don’t understand why this wasn’t simply included in the price, and what you get for the money is pretty skimpy—no extras for unexpected messes! Overall though, we were still really happy with the house and had a wonderful stay.

Peaceful Retreat from Tourism
Three of us (a married couple and single person, all from the U.S.) stayed here in early June after a week of inn-to-inn hiking and several days of rented car touring about in the Dordogne region. It was a welcome change from small hotels and the perfect location, just close enough to Sarlat to walk down for dinner and the Saturday market and far enough away to feel one was in a different, almost rural, world. (the walk, using an obvious shortcut past the lovely garden and through a neighbor's backyard was only 10-12 minutes into the old part of town). The house has enough room (and rooms) to have taken 3 times the three of us. Simple, clean and comfortable and so pleasant to sit outside and enjoy the view toward the town below and the hot air balloons rising over Beyac in the distance. You can't beat the location, a short car ride away from all the major sites in that part of the Dordogne. My friends said that, if they were to do the trip again, they would just stay at the house the whole time and do daily tours using it as a base. Due to our somewhat lacking French language abilities, we had a bit of difficulty finding the house (it is literally at the very end of the "impasse" road) and wish there had been a few provisions already supplied, but there are supermarkets fairly close by. The house is great and we highly recommend it.
