This was our third consecutive year in Wailea but our first time staying in Ekolu. We were very pleased with the unit. We had everything we needed both in the condo and within a short walking distance. We used both the electric grill on the lanai and the communal charcoal bbq's which were conveniently located only a few steps outside our door. The view is exactly as shown in the photos - no touch-ups. Most evenings, we sat on the lanai with a drink and watched the incredible sunset. The pool facilities were clean and well maintained for the few days we used them. Most days we were either on one of the pristine nearby beaches or exploring the island. A highlight was a trip out the Hana Highway (about half way). Spectacular vistas! We would recommend 507 Ekolu as an excellent location and equally excellent value. It was clean, convenient, comfortable and nicely appointed. We hope to return again one day.

First time on Maui staying at 3 different locales, and this was the best experience of all. The owners said I'd love their property, and it certainly went beyond all expectations. Selfishly, I hesitate to give glowing reviews, for fear that I might not be able to rent it next time. Okay, so you want to know the details. First, the 180-degree view of the ocean, Lanai, and Molokini is stunning, especially at sunset. The location is within a 10 minute walk from the beach, just up the hill, but away from the craziness of the hotel congestion. The place is well-appointed and updated--granite, marble, etc. The owners have great taste. The kitchen is fitted out with good equipment, including knives that actually work. They seemed to have thought of everything, and their hospitality shows it. The price is such a deal for what you get. What I will remember most about this condo is its peacefulness, like a warm Hawaiian hug. If you're spending a day at the beach, skip the beaches in front of the hotels, and head south, a short car ride to the magnificent Big Beach, a state park. Best food? Easily Fresh Market Bistro upcountry in Makawao.

On the day we left Maui, I realized I left my wedding ring in the safe at the airport! I was unspeakable upset. Even my husband couldn't console me. It was 9:00 at night and I'm crying at the airport. I emailed the owner. Texted the manager who told me not to worry, to get on my flight and they would help me. I had to get on my plane. The next day after I got home, I spoke to the property manager. Long story short, they and their sweet house keeper got my ring back to me safely. I was so relieved and they handled my crisis so well. Now, to the unit itself. Over the years, we have stayed in six different condos in Wailea. I loved this place. It has such a great sensible layout. Very good flow. The view from the kitchen made me want to cook most of my meals there. The place was clean. The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil and pot or pan you could need. The location is a five minute walk to the Shops at Wailea. Very easy to find and get in and out of. We really enjoyed the property. It was a breeze booking the unit with the owners.

My husband and I stayed for a week and really enjoyed this property. We found everything we needed and enjoyed just being in the condo. The views were wonderful and it was very clean. One of the things that drew me initially to inquire about this condo was the decor. I'm happy to report that the pictures accurately reflect the unit's appearance. This was a find and I will definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Had the pleasure of staying here in April 2011 (sorry for the delay in posting) for ten days with my wife. The unit is exactly as described. It was very WELL appointed, with everything we needed (and more) in the kitchen. The selection of beach gear in unit was more than we needed. The unit was very clean when we arrived, and was ready when promised. The unit was very quiet, with wide ocean views from the lanai. It was a few minutes drive to the beaches and shopping...or about a 15 minute walk. Having the second bathroom was a much enjoyed bonus. We would stay here again, without hesitation.

Recommended for:Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A Great Choice

On our 6th trip to Maui we finally found the perfect condo. The owners have placed quality, comfort and ambiance as top priorities in decorating and furnishing. Sofa and chairs are comfortable and viewing angle to TV appropriate. Bed is very comfortable. Two bathrooms clean and granite and ceramic tile really appreciated. Kitchen counters superb and appliances first class. Owner's were wonderful when we had to come three days later than planned. They allowed us to add a day on the back end. They were helpful and informative. Location is also top notch. Easy walking distance to shops or beach. We go to Maui for the golf and this condo is situated among the finest courses in the world. In Maui you can go 1st class or coach in your choice of restaurants and entertainment - but this first class accomodation is a must!

Recommended for:Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful place to stay! I cannot recommend it highly enough! Great location, great view, great interior design... very thoughtfully laid out. And it's close to one of the best beaches on all the islands - Makena. It's within walking distance from the best spa in the islands - Spa Grande. I just cannot say enough nice things about staying here and how much it added to an amazing vacation. Thank yo!

We stayed here in May 2009 while in Maui for a wedding. The condo was one of the best ones we have stayed in during the 8 years we have been coming to Maui. It's very clean, nicely updated, and extremely quiet. The lounge with the plush carpet and comfy sofa made things feel very homey. The rain shower in the master bathroom felt just wonderful after a long day at the beach. All in all, our vacation was perfect and we would definately stay here again!

We had the unbelievably good fortune to find and stay here from late September through early October this year. We have vacationed on Maui every year, or every other year, for the past 20 years, and during that time, have stayed in condos, houses, hotels, and time shares from Kapalua to Wailea, and from Hana to Wailuki, and just about everywhere in between. This unit is, without a doubt, hands down, the BEST place we have ever stayed on Maui in those 20 years. It doesn't feel like you're staying in a typical vacation rental--it feels more like your best friends said "we have a place in Maui; here, take the keys and have a good time." No detail has been left unthought of, undone or untouched, from decorating to guest amenities -- from the toaster, appliances and dishes in the kitchen to (what must be) 650+ thread count sheets in the bedroom, every choice has been made for comfort, luxury and convenience. Honestly, we can not say enough or praise strongly enough the thought and care that went into this perfect oasis in paradise. If, like me, after spending a few minutes on VRBO, you couldn't stand the thought of looking at any more wicker or rattan furniture or loud garish hawaiian flower patterns, afford yourself this luxury. You will not regret your decision one minute, from the moment you arrive until long after you've left. Create a memory that will last a lifetime, and will bring a warm smile to your face every time you look at a picture or have a fond remembrance of the days and nights spent in this condominium. Condo ID # 130521 We stayed 14 nights in this perfect Condo and hated to leave. It felt like home with every amenity you could think of. We celebrated our 30th anniversary with a visit to Maui and a nine day stay in Ekolu 507. The condo is beautiful and very comfortable. We have stayed in other condos in Ekolu and this is our favorite by far. The view is awesome - even when seated on the couch! Thanks so much for allowing us to use your beautiful Maui "home". We're already looking forward to a return visit.

We stayed at this wonderful condo the last 10 days of January, 2008. The furnishings and decor are first rate, the kitchen is extremely well-equipped, and the views from the lanai are just exquisite. The location in Wailea is superb. Close to everything, but in a quiet setting. The condo is on a walkway that goes directly down to the Shops at Wailea and Wailea Beach. Great restaurants are nearby, and numerous beaches are close, where the snorkeling is terrific. If you want to stay in South Maui, this condo is THE place. Highly recommended....we loved our visit!

We stayed in the condo on our honeymoon in mid-October and I can't say enough good things about it. The location is great, it feels like a high end lived in condo (as opposed to a rental), and the views of the ocean are spectacular. We really enjoyed staying at this lovely condo. The location is very convenient, especially for the early morning snorkeling at Ulua beach and walking the beautiful shoreline. We loved the place! Everything from the furnishings to the smallest details and amenities was perfect. A very good location for visiting all the sites on Maui and a beautiful area of Maui, too. This place is amazing! The pictures are nice, but they can't tell the story of this unit well enough. It is beautiful top to bottom. Furnishings and unit amenities are first-rate and the location is perfect. Away from the noise but close to pool, beaches, restaurants and shopping. Beautiful island sunsets every night from the lanai. You'd pay 4-5x's as much to stay at the big resorts for a one bedroom and not have as nice of a unit. We hope to go back soon!

“What a pleasant surprise” – we both said as we entered this condo which had been newly remodeled from floor to ceiling. We could not get over the beautiful furnishings and appointments, i.e. granite countertops in the kitchen and baths, tile floors and surrounds, stainless appliances, teakwood cabinets, and the LCD flat panel television we discovered. We then noticed the panoramic view of the ocean and nearby islands from every room. This is the 6th condo we have occupied in the south Maui area and is by far the best. It is just up the hill a short distance from the Shops at Wailea and very close to several terrific beaches. Nearby access to the Piilani Highway make it easy to get to other places on the island. We plan to stay here again.

Jim and Don have done a fantastic job renovating and furnishing this condo. Their attention to detail is incredible and the touches are truly luxurious. Our honeymoon here in the condo was memorable and we loved watching the perfect Maui sunsets from the comfort of the lanai. The location was great, as it's only a five minute walk to the Shops at Wailea and a short jaunt to any of the beaches in front of the mega-resorts. If you're going to stay in Maui, stay in Wailea. And if you're going to stay in Wailea, stay at this Condo and get more space, comparable luxury, more peace, quiet and privacy, and better value for money.
