“Sweet Home Alabama” experience!

Absolutely LOVED our stay at this studio!! (perfect for our 6yr anniversary) Just like the pictures shown on the website & the best part was the balcony overlooking the pool. Owners are very quick with reply & no problems encountered during whole process. On the plantation the staff was super friendly (when you want to use the gym – all you need is a code), the WiFi was super fast (to plan our little adventures) & at night the indoor/outdoor jacuzzi is a must before bed (including the sauna). Places great to eat: Original Oyster House (excellent parmesan melted oysters & gumbo), Tacky Jack’s (only thing good was the buffalo shrimp wrap -my bf didn’t like his food so had some of mine), Bahama Bobs (right on the beach – good gumbo & food – great lunch specials) Places that we visited: Fort Morgan, Alligator Ally (not only do you get to feed the alligators you get to hold one too), Alabama Zoo (they had kangaroo & lemur encounters where you get to play & take pictures with them), Mobile Bay Ferry (never had our car on a boat before), USS Alabama Battleship (was our favorite out of the trip) Happy Hours: Connections (variety of beer- right on the resort- but at the end of the week was closed for the season till Dec they said), Flora Bama (for under $20 we got royal red shrimp & 24 oysters – good party on Saturdays), Happy Hour on the Line (right across from Flora Bama- they have a band that plays every Wednesday), The Hangout (they have BBQ parties on Sundays), Gulf Shores Steamer (Monday-Friday tap is only $1) The most romantic part of the whole trip the sunsets on the beach (breathtaking). We had no problem driving everywhere since the whole week the weather was hot/humid/sunny (high 90s- great tan). This was by far a “Sweet Home Alabama” experience!! Thank you for a 7 day amazing getaway :)

My family and I just returned from a great little getaway to Gulf Shores. The unit is perfect for a couple or small family. If you look at the pictures, they show you perfectly what you will be staying in. The unit is very close to a pool which was perfect for us and a short walk to the boardwalk to the beach. The unit had everything we possibly needed in the kitchen and we used the kitchen quite a bit while we were there. The Owners reply very quickly to any needs you have - They are fabulous!!! This is our first time renting a condo and it was a great experience! Thanks for a great 4 days!

We LOVED our stay here at Gulf Shores Plantation! The condo was very clean and the grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. The beach was wide and clean, also. The property was exactly as describes. The condo was on the end of the building which made unloading and loading a breeze. The size of the condo was perfect for up to 4 people, but with it being only 2 of us it was super! Steve was a joy to work with - even with us waiting until the last minute to book his property. Everything we needed was furnished. The complex was a short drive into Gulf Shores for dinner, but we really enjoyed the peace and serentiy of the drive. We were looking for a quiet, peaceful get-away and that is exactly what we got. Even though the complex is very kid friendly and family oriented, it is still peaceful. Thank you so much, Mr. Steve for allowing us to rent your condo and enjoy the beautiful Gulf, the delicious food in Gulf Shores, and being able to relax for the few nights we were able to get away. Our favorite place to eat there was The Steamer!! We also really enjoyed Sea 'N Suds! Very good service, great food, and resonalbe prices. It is well worth the extra effort of locating it. Thanks again for a wonderful, memorable trip!!

We had a wonderful experience. The condo was just right for us and when we arrived extremely clean and welcoming. During our stay we did not encounter any problems with the condo. All of the pools were great and it was nice they all had different feet, my daughter loved the 8ft pool. The beach was a short walk down the boardwalk, and just as I remembered from my high schools days when we would stay at Gulf Shores Plantation, beautiful as ever. At night we had a lot of fun at the Hangout on the main strip and at Zooland Putt Putt. As I said the condo was great, we spent so little time in it, we were mainly at the pools or beach. Steve & Lynne were extremely helpful with my last minute vacation plans. The getaway was truly amazing. Thanks for wonderful Summer 2011 memories.

Beautiful grounds and great beach access. The short walk to the boardwalk was through flowers and well-maintained shrubs. The pool is right outside the balcony - nice proximity. The condo has all you need for a short vacation and all appliances functioned properly. The window bed is comfortable but short. The hideaway was not painful but has a very thin mattress. Consider bringing an air mattress or egg crate to go on top. The condo was clean but in need of flooring updates. This is a good place to stay but do not expect luxury! We had a great time and were very happy with our experience!

I had a wonderful time staying in this condo. Myself, along with 2 friends, had just graduated nursing school and wanted to getaway and relax for a couple of days. The condo was perfect for the three of us. My one complaint would be the pull out sofa bed. I could feel the springs when I was on it, so I put the couch back together and put a sheet over the cushions to sleep. The cushions weren't firm; so, it was a little uncomfortable. Other than that, everything was great. This is a perfect condo for a marriend couple or a few friends, but I wouldn't suggest it if you have young kids. Since there is only one room with everything in it, it could get a little loud if kids were there!! I would definitely recommend this condo.

The property was nicely landscaped and well maintained. The pools, exercise room, laundry facilities and BBQ’s were in good condition. The unit was comfortable and everything worked but we felt that it needs some updating. Replacing the vinyl flooring and re-stretching the carpet to remove the bubbles would help greatly. Prior to our arrival the unit was not cleaned to the extent I would have expected. The interior was clean but had a heavy smell of disinfectant. We could barely see through the sliding glass door and the table and chairs on the patio were filthy. We encountered both live and dead bugs.
Owner response:We talked to our housekeeper and told her to make sure the balcony door and outside furniture are cleaned after each renter. We also called Terminix and they perfromed an additional pest treatment. Steve & Lynne, Owners

Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 small children rented this condo for the weekend of March 25-27th. It was a last minute getaway. The owners were very accomidating with our questions and last minute rental. The space was a perfect size for our family. The condo was clean. One of the pools was right outside the back of our unit. The beach was a short walk over the boardwalk. Plantation Dunes is about 13 miles off the main drag of Ft. Morgan. Once you are on the main drag there are several attractions and resturants to eat at. We ate lunch at Lamberts (home of the throwed rolls) on day and ate at Lulu's one night. Definatly make these two a must for your trip. The outlet mall is up the road from Lamberts and another shopping center with Target and BAM and others were not far away. It was a perfect trip for us and we enjoyed our stay at Plantantion Dunes in this unit. We will definatly rent from the owners again and can't wait to enjoy the quietness and comfort of Ft. Morgan once more.
Owner response:Just a few clarifications: The main drag the renter mentioned is Highway 59. Our condo is in Gulf Shores Plantation Resort, which is on Highway 180, on the Fort Morgan Peninsula. The condo is 14 miles west of the intersection of Highways 180 and 59. One mile south of that intersection is the heart of Gulf Shores, AL. Five miles north of that intersection is the outlet mall that the renter mentioned. Steve & Lynne, Owners

This was nothing glamorous but practically speaking was just perfect. Close to the beach, beautiful pools, great weekend. The place was clean, the bed was comfortable and the nearby barbecues were a plus. Just great for two. It is simple and not glamorous but just right for us. The only negatives were the lack of a coffee table and the heavy footed neighbors upstairs. Sadly, you can hear people walking upstairs. The good news is that they weren't there that much.

We loved every inch of Gulf Shores Plantation

WE loved every inch of Gulf Shores Plantation! The resort was clean, beautifully landscaped and well furnished. Our only concern was some of the washer and dryers did not work. There was very little oil on the beach. The only drawback that we had was it was red flags on the beach because of the undertow not the oil. But there were so many other things to do on the resort that it really didn't matter. We enjoyed two of the pools, the hottub and the volleyball court daily. I loved the fact that it was very family oriented and we met some really nice people. It was just me and my two teenage kids (18 & 13) so the space was a little small for sleeping but it is excellent for a couple or a couple with small children. We will definitely be back, maybe labor day maybe Christmas. I would give the resort 4 1/2 stars!
