Wonderful Beachfront Getaway

I stayed here with three people and it was incredible. The two bedrooms are very spacious. We could have had 5-8 people there comfortably with the futon and two couches. The house is just off the ocean with access to miles of beautiful beach. If you need anything, it's a five minute ride from town. We didn't see more than a handful of other people on the beach during our stay, so it was not crowded during our stay. The house has everything you need, and the town market has an extensive selection and is reasonably priced. The owners were great, with information about the area and suggestions for things to do. We can't wait to return.

This was our second time staying here and it was just as great as the first time. We appreciate all of the amenities at the house and love that it is just steps away from the beach. The owners live nearby and are so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend staying here!

The house was exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of room to spread out for a small group, and lots of couch space for reading. We love to cook and the kitchen had enough space in it for two people at work. Plenty of pots, pans, bowls, etc for many projects! Which was a great surprise after visiting some vacation rentals who skimp on the kitchen. And despite the rain we made use of the bbq too. The wander down to the beach was easy, beautiful sunsets and not too many others if you're looking for a quiet visit. The view from the deck to the ocean is beautiful, in warmer weather I probably would have spent half the trip out there relaxing! The place is a quick drive-or nice walk-into Yachats and only a 20 minute drive to Newport if you want to see the aquarium or go shopping. Thanks so much for making your property dog friendly. Our dog was a very happy kid for the weekend, with the beach walks, cozying up on his own couch and getting to run in and out between the deck and the living area (the gate on the deck was a great surprise!). We will definitely keep an eye out for this one next time we plan a visit to the Coast!

While not right on the beach (one house in front of us), it met and exceeded our expections! Nice views of the ocean from the kitchen/dining room, deck, etc. So clean and comfortable. Very roomy, we should have brought our friends, and probably will the next time! The owners were very attentive when needed, to solve Dish TV questions. Winter rates are a bargain. The beach is a short walk away, with very sturdy stairs. Of course this stretch of the beach is incredible. We have stayed at several homes in the Yachats area. It is as good as it gets, especially for the price/value. We definitely recommend Sanddollar.

Sunny Week in Yachats

Like before, we found a very clean and comfortable place, a truly HOME AWAY FROM HOME. When we had trouble with the TV the owner was there in 2 minutes and set us straight. My wife likes to cook and she enjoyed the kitchen, which was well equipped and easy to work in. It's definitely a place to come back to.

The place is great. VERY clean, quiet, comfortable, well equipped and close to the beach. In addition, it is close to Newport, if you need the big city, and Waldport and Yachats, if all you need is a few groceries. If you seek adventure there is plenty in both directions. There are a whole bunch of brochures for different things on the counter and people who have signed the guest book have made a number of suggestions for other guests. I highly recommend the place.

Relaxing and Cozy

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon last week and absolutely loved it! The place is even better than the pictures make it seem. Very clean, the kitchen was well stocked, and the beds were comfortable. The view was great as well, as we could see the ocean from the living room. The beach was just steps away from the place, but we didn't spend much time there because of the wind. We had some rainy days and some sunny days and were able to explore the area as well as cocoon inside. Yachats itself is a cute little town. It has a lot of rocky beach in the town, but since we were a couple miles north, we got a long stretch of sandy beach right in front of the property. The best of both worlds. However, a lot of the shops in town were closed at random times because it was the off season. I do have a word of caution though-- I have celiac disease and have to eat only gluten free foods, and the one restaurant in town that advertised that they had gluten free options (The Drift Inn Historic Pub & Cafe) actually didn't have the menu properly labeled. If something says it is vegetarian or gluten free on their menu, make sure to grill them about how it is prepared because I found several discrepancies. Even with asking a lot of questions, I still became sick from gluten contamination in my supposedly gluten free food. Other than that though, our experience in town was great. The owners were wonderful all throughout the process before we arrived, and came to say hi to us once we got there. Very nice people and they genuinely cared about us and how our stay was. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and have already told my family and friends that they have to stay here. It was an incredibly relaxing vacation because of the great accommodations we had. Thank you to the owners for making it so! By the way, if you do go, you'll want to make the drive south from Yachats to Florence-- some of the most beautiful scenery on the Oregon Coast!

Great Getaway!

My girl friend and I stayed here while attending a yoga workshop in Yachats. What a delight, big kitchen, open great room, walk to beach is around 150 feet. There is a house in front of this proptery, but it's one story and this apartment is on the 2nd story. Rooms are large and has an easy flow to it. Do read How to work the showers... it's easy, but something I have not run across and saves you from running around in your bithday suit! I'll be back!

My husband and I stayed four nights and can't say enough good about our experience. The apartment (very charming) delivered everything in the listing and then some; spotless, spacious, and very well appointed. The views are great and you are literally steps from the beach. We truly appreciated having ALL the comforts of home available to us. I'm already planning a girls' trip in the spring! Lastly, we had the pleasure of meeting the owners who made us feel very much at home - thank you for making our vacation so relaxing and enjoyable!

We arrived late at night after an 11 hour drive from California, the unit was unlocked as promised and we were happy that the owner had turned on the heat (it was raining cats and dogs and cold at our arrival). We were very pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, the nice fresh smell and the warm atmosphere; in short it was homey. After a long night rest we went to the beach, watched the waves and the pelicans and seagulls, went back for breakfast and believe it or not, found that beautiful bag of aromatic coffee. Compliment of the house! We spend 4 days in heaven.

Great property. Wonderful getaway! About a half hour drive to Newport, and 50 minutes to Lincoln city. Easy to get down to the beach. Very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. Can't wait to go back this summer.

This was a wonderful place to stay. The ocean view is great and the beach access is very close and easy to get to. The house was charming and the satellite TV was a hit with the guys and the kids. The kitchen was great to cook in and the bedrooms were comfortable and roomy. The house was very clean and had plenty of seating for our whole group. We plan on coming back to stay again here.

Both beds are exceptionally comfortable, the house is super-clean, and all conveniences seem to be there for us (though this time we had to buy coffee filters). The washer/dryer is a major help, too. The access to the beach is easy--this time it was full of sand, a nice flat walking beach; in past years it's been great for agate hunting. Another plus is the wi-fi access; the t.v. is huge and there is a dvd player (and a great dvd rental place in Yachats). The hosts are excellent people, nice to have conversations with, and don't seem judgmental. They allowed us to bring our dog, too! Well worth it--it does feel like a home away from home.

The Sand Dollar rental was truly amazing. We loved every moment of our vacation -- especially coming "home" to our fabulous spot on the beach. This place has everything we desired: comfort, cleanliness, sunlight, cheer, warmth, view, access, extras. We were very delighted and impressed -- enough to make it a future destination. If you happen upon a sweet opportunity to rent this spread, then my friend, you are among the lucky. We highly recommend it. You will love your stay as well. J&S

This little place was actually better than the pictures. Everything was nice, new, and well taken care of. The owners of the property went out of their way before, during, and after our stay to keep in touch with us. Located in Yachats, it's nice and quiet yet easy to get to towns that are a little larger. There are many tidepools nearby. This is a wonderful place to stay. Our family of four (16 year-old and 8 year-old) had plenty to do to keep busy. My teenage son loved the Dish TV. We hope to return one day!
