Secluded Mountain View!
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Franklin
We absolutely love the area. There are lots of things to do and we never tire of exploring the mountains. This summer we toured the Blue Ridge Parkway and Smoky Mountain National Park. There are so many flea markets, antique stores, and thrift stores that you could never see them all in a month.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Lots of things to do--great hiking, flea markets, museums, gem mines, fishing, boating, good restaurants. Our house is really secluded--you can't see another house, and the only sounds are birds singing! A former owner was a master gardener and the flowers are beautiful--daffodils and forsythia in the spring, iris, peonies, lilies, blueberries, blackberries, lots of azaleas and rhododendrons. The air is fresh and clean. It is a glorious place to be.

I just wanted to let you know that we arrived safely and may never leave. We've been vacationing in the TN/GA/NC mountain areas twice a year for 14 years, and this is the loveliest, most accommodating house/cabin we've ever seen. I think the seclusion and views are probably the best we've experienced as well. The photos on the web site, while accurate, don't do it full justice. We could be the only people on the planet; your comment that "it is extremely private" should earn you a nomination for 2011 Queen of the Understatement <grin>.

Just wanted to let you know we again had an awesome stay at your mountain home. The weather was so perfect and the hummingbirds were still plentiful. Nice and cool compared to Florida. Did a lot of hiking again. The peacefulness and serenity at the cabin is soooo nice. Thanks again for letting us stay there. Will contact you next year for our annual mountain vacation.

Just wanted to write you a little note and thank you for the use of your cabin. The ride up Lickskillet Road was a little scary, but, once we got to the cabin, we were very pleased. It is a very secluded location and we thoroughly enjoyed it! Time just seemed to go by too fast! If you are stil renting your cabin out, we will recommend it to anyone and everyone we can think of. Once again, thank you!

We had a grand time while attenfding our family reunion. The grand kids really enjoyed watching the raccoons come on the porch to patrol the bird feeders every night for left over bird seed as well as watching the hummingbirds during the day. The views were awesome as was the weather. We are looking forward to going again.

We are having such a lovely time at your house. We all agree that this is the best place we've ever stayed in the mountains and we look forward to coming back. Tonight we are making our second and last berry cobbler. I has been a feast for eyes and tummies! The cool air and sweet mountain smell are such a delight to us all.

My three sisters, Mom and I were looking for a different place in between our states to get away for a reunion. I have never been to the area but fell in love with it and the house. We visited Biltmore our first day and brought back wine that we enjoyed along with the view from the rockers on the porch. I would like to return with my husband and kids because I think we would all love it. Very nice house in a beautiful remote setting and much better than we anticipated. Thank you so muchJean and Harold! We can't thank you enough!

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home in Franklin. My wife and I have been renting cabins in the NC mountains for the past 15 years and this was truly one of the most enjoyable places to stay. We were seeking a quiet, peaceful, relaxing, and secluded place to stay with a mountain view and your home more than exceeded our expectations. We are both big nature enthusiasts so the cabin, seclusion of the property, and close proximity to hiking trails and waterfalls was perfect and met our needs well. There was a great deal of beauty to look at on the property itself as well as the surrounding areas. We will definitely be returning next year.

My husband & I have rented homes in this area since 1984. This is the first Mt home that my husband has ever said he would like to rent again. This is a very quiet peaceful relaxing place full of beauty. Everything was just as Jean said it would be. It’s very close to any activates you might like to visit. We really enjoyed our week here and would recommend it to anyone
