Don't let the quaintness of this beach front cottage fool you. This recently remodeled home (2007, updated December 2010 and again in November 2011) may look simple on the outside but it has all of the modern conveniences that anyone could ask for! No expense was spared with decorating, but we left the charm of an older beach home intact. Everything in this house was new in 2007 and the owner makes updates to the home every 6-12 months! It looks like a showroom for IKEA meets Pottery Barn, right down to the kitchen cabinets!
With 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, this home sleeps 4 comfortably. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a full and a twin. The bathroom is located just between the two bedrooms. We used the space perfectly to house the maximum number of people, with still leaving a great deal of space to get around. There is a television in the living room and one in each of the bedrooms, for a total of 3 televisions. The house has cable, VCRs and/or DVD players (on every TV), and wireless internet, so bring your laptop and work by the water.
Sandpiper Quay is on the water, just a short stroll and over a small dune. It boasts a large screened in porch where you can sit and enjoy the coastal breezes. What's better than having the beach as your backyard? We have provided beach towels and beach chairs for your use and there is a park-style grill in the small fenced backyard. Just like others, once you stay here, you will want to return!
Some of the best seafood can be found in Carrabelle. You can go to downtown Carrabelle and purchase shrimp each morning, fresh off of the shrimp boats. The freshest oysters you've ever had are harvested every morning, so be sure to pick some up, as well as the fresh grouper and other fish. Or, if you prefer, you can fish from the beach just out your back door.
This is a great little beach bungalow in a tranquil setting. If you're ready to relax and get away from it all, then give us a call! You only need to provide us with a credit card to book the home, so what are you waiting for?

Why the Owner Chose Carrabelle Beach
Sandpiper Quay means Sandpiper "by the water". We picked this little home because of its location. It is right on the water, with beautiful views of both Saint George Island and Dog Island. Carrabelle is a cute, undisturbed old fishing village, where you can still go into town and buy fresh shrimp off of the shrimp boats in the morning, and the oysters are the freshest you'll find. The people are laid back and life is a little slower in Carrabelle. It's a great place to relax, unwind and enjoy the undisturbed, practically private beach just a hundred yards away.

My family of 4 stayed at Sandpiper Quay for 3 weeks in July 2011. Everything was perfect. The ocean is just steps away. The beach is so quiet and very few people on the beach. TONS of sea life. We saw dolphins most everyday. Beautiful sunrises! The house is just perfect. Exactly as it appears on the site. Nice comfy beds, awesome beachy atmosphere, fully stocked kitchen. We had a little trouble with the shower and a man came to fix it immediately. There was so much that we used at the house, including sand chairs, great big beach towels, and everything you could possible need for a day at the beach! I would highly recommend Sandpiper Quay. It is truly paradise! There is nothing that I would change about this awesome little place. Thanks for sharing this amazing house with us.

This little house is a wonderful get away from it all. Location is perfect, right on the beach! The screened in back porch is one of the highlights. The house has everything you need. I would recommend this vacation home to anyone. Can't wait to go back! We saw dolphins everyday from the beach. The sunrise and sunset from the beach was wonderful. The Crooked River Lighthouse is a great place to go visit less than a mile from the house. Great restaurants close by...the Pit Stop, hole in the wall, but the food was excellent, the Fishermans' Wife all I can say is wonderful!

A Wonderful Vacation Stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandpiper Quay! The cottage was clean, bright and comfortable, wonderfully decorated without being fussy and full of amenities (very thankful for the iron & board, as I packed linen to keep cool). The bed was super comfy, there were plenty of linens and dishes/utensils and machines + detergent to keep them clean, the ceiling fans in each room kept us quite comfortable, but the A/C was nice for cooling down the hot afternoons. The pamphlets highlighting the area and phone book in the coffee table drawer were helpful in finding our way around. And how can you beat that screen porch?!? We are active birders/nature lovers and spent many hours relaxing and watching/listening to the birds, skinks and tree frogs. We saw the resident owl (possible a Short-Eared Owl) and the Northern Mockingbird kept us entertained with various songs. We saw all manner of Sandpipers, Willets and Gulls. I found 2 live Starfish in tide pools on the first day to admire and saw dolphins on several occasions. We also saw 2 small Hammerhead sharks (2' & 4') rounding up Needlefish for breakfast during one of our dawn beach walks. It great being so close to the beach; just an easy stroll out the back door and over the small dunes to the beach for walking or swimming. The sand was soft and the water was warm; the beach was never busy and was quite peaceful, even on the weekend. The outdoor shower/tap was great for hosing off the sand and salt water and we enjoyed having the beach chairs/umbrella and swim noodles available. The town is small enough to be mellow, but with a fully stocked grocery and a library with internet access for guests. There are plenty of small, local restaurants in town and the larger nearby towns have more restaurants, shopping, antiquing, and plenty of sightseeing. We made the trek to several birding sites, including St. Mark's National Wildlife Refuge which was an amazing visit. What a Find this place was! We will definitely be back in the future.
Owner response:We're so glad you enjoyed yourselves. We love the home and try to take great care of the home. Thank you for such a wonderful review, and we look forward to your staying at Sandpiper Quay again. ~ Lisa

Beach chairs, towels, a fully stocked kitchen all the amenties of home but better because your at the beach! The cottage is adorable, spacious, and decorated like a pottery barn magazine. The views from the cottage are priceless. The beach is private. You get the idea - it is a AWESOME PLACE!! Loved it. Didn't want to go home.

My daughter and I spent a long weekend at Sandpiper Quay and it was totally delightful. The beach was peaceful (even during Spring Break). It had everything we wanted or needed. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was clean and kept up well. The decorations were very comfortable and welcoming. The owner was very prompt and helpful and the description and pictures were very accurate. We would definitely come back again.

This house was wonderful. It was perfect,it had everything you needed. The chairs, sand buckets, nets and beach towels were a good extra touch. We watched dolphins two different times from the beach there. I hated to leave and would like to return in the future.

2 friends and i rented this place in may for 4 nights. we loved the cottage, very cute. we had the beach to ourselves for the most part. make sure to stop at the visitors center in carabelle for local info-restaurants, places of interest, etc, as there is no info in the cottage.a little folder that includes restaurants and menus would have been great to have in the cottage, other than that nothing was lacking. loved it!
Owner response:Carol, We are so glad you enjoyed yourselves. We did, at one point have information in the cottage about local places and attractions, but it seems to have disappeared. We will put together another folder to be place in the cottage. Thank you for the nice comments! We love the cottage.

We had a WONDERFUL time at this gorgeous beach house and enjoyed Carabelle as well as the surrounding towns. The description does not do it justice! The house is beautifully decorated and we felt right at home. Loved the screened in porch. Spent every morning drinking coffee on the porch and watching the sun rise. What a relaxing trip. Can't wait to go back!
