Our family of 14 (8 adults, 6 kids) stayed here for 8 days. The place is amazing and the pictures don't do it justice. The house was more than adequate with lots of space for everyone especially in the kitchen.The pool and waterslide are so great! The kids had so much fun in the pool and I think the adults had even more fun. We picked fruit from the trees in the yard and had so much fun feeding the animals. Although we spent most of our time outdoors, we had a tournament with ping pong and other games there. It was a great way to spend New Year's Eve with our family, Duane (the owner) took us on some awesome tours. Adventures that we never anticipated! They were fabulous. We didn't have enough time to do all the great things provided in the house. We were all very sad to leave and hope to return one day. Amazing vacation and so much FUN!

We just finished a 10 day stay at the Fun House. If you can't figure out how to have fun at this place, you have a real problem. Duane (the host) has equipped this place with an absurd number of toys and ways to amuse a family. The pool and slide are a gas. The petting zoo is great for kids (the momma pig gave birth to four piglets while we were here. The place is spacious. We stayed in the master bedroom which is enormous. There are plenty of toys - surfboards, boogie boards, Kayaks - if you want to use them as well as indoor stuff - PacMan, pool, ping pong, etc. This is an especially neat place if you have little kids in your entourage.
Recommended for:Families with young children.

10 of us, 5 couples travelled to Kauai for a vacation, to celebrate several Birthdays and 1 major milestone (50). The Fun House proved to be the perfect spot. The location is awesome, a large lot with many fruit trees you can eat from, the pool and hot tub are incredible, and although you feel quite secluded you are only minutes from many fantastic beaches and the town of Hanalei. The house is well done with many great features, such as the games, projector for movies, and loads of space for many more than 10 people. The farm animals were an attraction that we had more fun with than we thought we would, we will certainly miss "Yang" the goat. In addition Duane the owner took us to an awesome waterfall that several locals we talked to had not heard of, Duane is a gracious host and an honest person, which has tremendous value when arranging a trip from several thousand miles. In all we had a great time and would reccomend this rental to anyone visiting Kauai.

Arrived to learn of extensive water damage(previous guests). Flooring ripped out exposing bedrm.#5 to columns of ants - uninhabitable(we expected some ants/geckos). Room was not cleaned very well with gecko droppings in the window coverings, down the walls, found some water bottles, clothing tags etc. under beds when children moved in with parents(checked other bedrms.-same story). Kitchen oven was filthy, dried matter on baking dishes, pots/pans, trash bin almost full, pantry door hinges pulled out, refrigerator defrosted 2x a day with water all over the floor, moldy coffee grounds in coffee maker, ceiling fans not working, quite a few missing screens with no screens on sliding doors(so much for keeping the house cool) to block children from pool(first nite got to "listen" to the caretaker/tenant as her windows open also), slot machines broken, climbing wall a bust, quite a few games missing as stated in ad, Netflix/Playstation's only worked in 1 bedroom, projector in great room went bust after 1st movie. No written instructional binder to help - propane ran out after 3rd day due to Owner admitted he miscommunicated instructions(none). Owner expected us to pay $180 delivery charge for more propane. Advertised charcoal BBQ(I had inquired 2x before arrival) - none. Animals are nice touch...Owner forgot to mention the lamb is a Ram/Tup who seriously butted all of us due to the ewe being in estrus. Slate back porch started crumbling in the center too - we taped the tiles to prevent the shards/flakes from possible cuts. Sent numerous e-mails back and forth, even calling once to no avail. Owner came by once to hook up dishwsher & drop off supplies. Owner kept saying he would be there, but never showed(kept saying he miscommunicated even though it was all in writing thru the emails). He did go to his storage bldg. a few times on the property secretly(or so he thought) informed us(in an email)- he was going rock climbing - so much for looking into our issues. Pool is wonderful(never found volleyball equip.) once we figured out the slide water. Acreage is wonderful and peaceful. Despite e-mails & patience on our part, Owner chose to acknowledge none of our issues except the ants and the dishwasher/kitchen supplies. After vacating, Owner did send an e-mail stating we had good weather(really?) and I should be thankfull(sic). I wonder how thankful the Owner would have been had I only paid 80% of his rental price reminding him to be thankful..........
Owner response:This Guest had some Medical Issues and took it out on us by lying on most of this review. Even received an email of apology from her relatives in which they told me of her issues and that everyone else had a great time. She also failed to mention that we let them check out in the evening because of a late flight.

We had 12 staying in the house ranging from 3 to 70 and we ALL had fun. The location is amazing and some of us never left the North Shore because there was so much to do and see. Plus, you really just don't ever want to leave the FUN House itself. The house is beautiful, the game room/big screen are entertaining, the pool -- whoa -- "the pool" and spa were AMAZING. What more could you ask for after a day at the beach, kayaking, or swimming in secluded mountain streams than to come home and relax in your own private pool/spa? The fun never ended and we never wanted to leave. Oh and the property itself was sheer entertainment. You can't find lilikoi (aka passion fruit), mango, chestnut, tangerine, BIG avacado, plus a few dozen more, trees at a hotel... and the goats, pigs, chickens and roosters were like having your own petting zoo! If you want a diverse vacation with it ALL, this is your one stop. And the owner is an extremely gracious host, responsive and someone we're glad to have gotten to know during our stay. Aloha :-)

This was a once in a life time experiance. It was a great place for my family reunion. The six kids (ages 15 thru 10) enjoyed the pool & the game rooms. We all so had access to the owner's Surfboard, paddleboard & Kayak. It was as advertise a FUNHOUSE.

The Fun House exceeded our already high expectations. Perfect location, near superb beaches. Incredible mountain views. Multiple fruit trees on property. Pool and 50' slide are truly remarkable. The many games in the house ensure constant fun for all. The farm animals make the experience even more unique, although the roosters will wake you up early. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. We highly recommend the Fun House - especially for families with kids.
