One and a half blocks from one of the two beaches in the Crescent Beach Association, about a three-minute walk. The second/main beach is about three blocks away in the other direction or is most often reached by the footpath along a beautiful bluff from the closer beach. The main beach has a raft, lifeguard, and snack-bar.

The house was built in the 1930's and is very solid. The kitchen and both baths have been modernized. The first floor is accentuated by an "L" shaped screen porch that runs along the front and half of one side of the house. The living room is large and airy with French doors that open to the porch. The first floor also has a dining room and one of the baths. The second floor has four bedrooms and the second bath. There is an outdoor shower off of the kitchen for rinsing off when coming from the beach.
A new patio has both gas and charcoal grills. The kitchen cabinets, floor, and counters where replaced in the spring of 2005.

Area attractions include the picturesque towns of Mystic, Noank, and Essex as well as Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, Nautilus Museum, Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, Fort Griswold (Groton) and, of course, the Niantic Bay. Fishing charters are available in both Niantic and Waterford, and there are public golf courses nearby. Niantic Village has grocery stores, drug stores, bookstores, a bakery, a movie theatre, restaurants, a children’s museum, a library, and lots of little shops.
