This large Hancock, ME home is just off of scenic Rte. 1, and is located in one of the most convenient locations to spend your Acadia/Downeast Maine vacation. The property is situated just over the Ellsworth town line, which is the gateway to Acadia National Park, and the beautiful Mount Desert Island/Bar Harbor area.

The home is set on almost two acres, and borders the White Birches golf course. Enjoy breathtaking views of the golf course, and nearby MDI and Cadillac Mtn, as you sit and relax from our back deck.

Just a short 30-40 minute drive to Bar Harbor, explore all that the area has to offer in the summertime with its breathtaking ocean views, sandy beaches, mountains, hiking and biking trails, whale watching/boat tours, fine dining, and quaint shopping villages. The house is also very close to Lamoine State Park, where you can enjoy a picnic, walking, and beach access. Nearby are several freshwater lakes for fishing, boating, swimming, and hiking. Drive to the east along Rte. 1, and explore the beautiful coast of Downeast Maine. In the Fall come enjoy the beautiful foliage, and what we consider to be one of the best times of year to be in the area.

Hancock Point, a historic summer community with boat harbor and many beautiful old summer homes and fine dining, is just a few minutes drive away. Further along Rte 1 you can explore the Schoodic Peninsula, one of Acadia’s best kept secrets. Antique shops, flea markets, art galleries, local fairs and festivals abound here in the summertime.

The town of Ellsworth is seconds down the road, and here you will find casual dining, and all the major shopping areas, including the LL Bean factory outlet. 30 miles to the north is Bangor, and a newly built racino which offers horse racing and slots.

The main part of the house being rented consists of two levels and is approx. 2000+ sq. ft. There are three bedrooms which sleeps five adults comfortably. There is also plenty of floor space for those with a sleeping bag! The home is filled with several large comfortable rooms to relax and unwind in after an exciting day of sightseeing.

Skylights, and large windows are located throughout to capture the surrounding views. Native tongue and groove pine complete the décor to give it that classic Maine home touch.

On the first floor of the home there is a private, fully equipped kitchen with cherry cabinets, a large built-in oven and cooktop stove with indoor grilling features. Just off the kitchen there is a formal dining room, an eat-in kitchen area with hardwood flooring which seats two, and a deck overlooking our large backyard with a child’s playset.

Two carpeted living rooms are located on this floor. One is a family room with two sofas and cable tv. A sunroom and child’s playroom are also located directly off the family room. The other living room, our “Nautical Room”, is decorated in classic Maine décor, and a great place for sitting with family and friends to reflect upon those special Maine memories you’ve just created. Rounding out the first floor is a bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower.

The second floor has three bedrooms. In the master bedroom there is a king size bed, large closet, ample dresser space, and tv. Located directly off the master is a large master bath complete with shower, and separate 6 ft tub. A washer and dryer is also located conveniently in here for all your laundry needs.

The second bedroom has a full size bed and dresser. Just outside this bedroom is the second bath with toilet, sink and a shower/tub combination. The third bedroom has a twin bed. All bedrooms have wall to wall carpeting. Towels and linens provided.

A signed security agreement and $200 security deposit are required within 7 days of your booking to secure your week for you. The remainder is due 30 days prior to your arrival, or no later than two weeks prior for last minute bookings. Weekly rentals are from Sat-Sat. The weekly rate is $800+tax+$200 security. Pets are considered with an additional $100 non-refundable pet fee.

The summer and fall seasons are very busy up here, so early bookings are encouraged.
