Come and enjoy this serene island haven with its incredible scenery overlooking Westcott Bay. Native wildlife abounds. Relax on the deck and watch the eagles soaring above, the osprey hunting in the bay, the deer grazing in the yard, or the foxes trotting through.
At low tide at this seaside retreat, you have access to a tidal flat with clams and oysters, tide pools and beach critters. Don't be surprised if a curious seal or two comes by to watch the humans.
Our home is within walking distance to the stores and restaurants at Roche Harbor, and is just a short distance to British Camp National Park, where you can hike Mount Young to catch a spectacular sunset, or travel the shoreline and dig for clams. For oyster lovers, prized Westcott Bay oysters may be purchased directly across the bay.
Orca whales are seen regularly throughout the summer months. Take a whale-watching cruise from any of the three harbours, or drive down the west side of the island for unique whale watching opportunities from land. Maps showing prime whale-watching locations are included at the house.
Sleeps up to nine--one king bed, one queen, three singles and two sofas. Families with children are most welcome, but please be aware that our home is located on mid-bank waterfront that accesses the tidal flat and water below.

Add 9.8% sales & lodging tax on rent, plus a $300 deposit that is fully
refundable, if no damages are done & no more than 4 hours cleaning are needed on

The house was beautiful, clean and well-kept. Sharon was very accommadating. I only wish we would have had more time to enjoy the San Juans and all they have to offer. It was a great stay!

Sharon. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us in July. We had a wonderful time while on San Jaun Island. Your home very convenient to all areas of the island, being an easy drive to Friday Harbour for groceries and dinner, as well as to Snug Harbour and our whale tour with Jim Maya. I so wish we had had more time to spend on the island. Your home was very clean and comfortable. We had never been to the San Juan Islands and were looking forward to a peaceful getaway for a small family reunion. Sharon and Paul sent us very helpful orientation material. We took the ferry from Anacortes (gorgeous views!) and upon arriving at Friday Harbor, we followed Sharon’s easy driving instructions (right from the ferry) for the scenic 15 minute drive to Roche Harbor. The best part of the drive was arriving at Sharon & Paul’s house and seeing the great view of Westcott Bay and the very nice home at the bottom of the driveway. There were 3 couples and one young adult and we all had our own bedroom (there is one bedroom with only a single bed, but it was perfect for our son as we thought he would need to sleep in the living room). The kitchen was well stocked, the dining room table was a fun congregation point for us with the views of Westcott Bay and the comfy sofas in the living room were great for relaxing in the evenings. I would definitely recommend Roche Harbor over Friday Harbor – it seems to have more of feel of what you expect from the San Juan Islands. We loved this house and wish we were there now!

What a great time we had last week at this property. Everything was as advertised except that the location is even more beautiful. Sharon and Paul are great owners and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. They thought of everything.The location is well situated for visiting Roche Harbor, or whale watching, and really nothing is very far away. This was our 3rd visit to San Juan and our best experience yet. We will definitely be back and will recommend this property to anyone who will sit still long enough to listen.

We rented this home for 1 week the end of June. It was perfect for our two families (two couples and three teenagers). We have rented with VRBO before but have never had a better experience than this one - prompt communication, quick return of the deposit. The house amenities were all in working order. The balcony provided a beautiful overlook of the bay and much wildlife. All throughout the island the whales, bald eagles, fox and other wildlife were breathtaking. We highly recommend this home not only for all it offers, but also for its excellent location.

There is nothing better than waking up with a coffee on the large outdoor patio overlooking the bay. What a georgous view! The house was very spacious and had everything we needed. The owners were friendly and flexible and even stocked up a pack and play which we hadn't requested or anticipated for our little one. We were able to enjoy the internet and cable to keep up on the world cup. The house is an easy walk to Roche Harbor. Sharon called us with the whale update and we were able to see a pod of five orcas swimming off the West side of the island. It was a fantastic stay for my husband, son, parents, sister, and me. I highly recommend this comfortable, spacious house with a great view. We hope to be back.

We stayed in this gem of a home in October of 2007, and we're on our way back for Thanksgiving 2008. The location is a gorgeous spot with an incredible view of Westcott Bay. It's quiet appointments make it really comfortable, and the owners keep the property very clean. If you come to San Juan Island it's the best place to stay!
