This 1248 sf log cabin has a 8' x 52' covered porch directly on the head waters of Scott's Creek/ complete with rocking chairs & gas grill.
This cabin is one level with 3 short steps to the door. The great room features a stone fireplace with insert & handmade walnut mantle, hardwood floors, tongue & groove walls, vaulted ceiling, central heat & air, big screen TV with DirecTV satellite (Starz movie channels included), sleeper sofa and a dining area for 6.
The kitchen is fully equipped. It has a smooth top electric range w/self cleaning oven, built in microwave (w/help button), dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator w/ ice & water in the door - "fresh/cold well water" no need to bring bottled.
The master suite is awesome. It has a king size log bed, vaulted ceiling & plush carpet. The master bath features a large size jacuzzi tub/shower, dressing area & walk in closet. There is a door to the porch from the master suite.
The 2nd bedroom is small but very cozy. It has a new double/full size bed, full-size closet with mirror doors. 2 large windows that look out on the deck.
This cabin has a full size 2nd bath & a laundry room complete with washer & dryer.
*Note: There is no phone in this cabin. You will need to bring your cell.
We are located on Balsam Mountain, between Sylva & Waynesville. It's just a short 5 minutes each way. 40 minutes to The Biltmore House, 20 minutes to the Cherokee Reservation & Casino, 35 minutes to Nantahala river (great rafting!) This location is central to almost everything around here.

10/25/07 to 10/28/07 Just up for a short visit, but had a good time. Lucked out & color was beautiful. Found cabin to be very nice & master bed was GREAT! Large TV was very nice also. I enjoyed sitting on the porch, drinking coffee & listening to the stream. Thanks for such a nice place to stay.

We came here to relax, and we did! We really enjoyed the fire, the porch, the King bed/mattress and the whirlpool! The kitchen is well stocked and everything else very nice! The creek is delightful. We found many antique malls to browse and especially liked Whistle Stop Mall/Shops on 441. We also like Barber's Orchard Mall & the apple stand down the road that sells hot apple turnovers! We hope to return in the spring if the cabin is available and bring friends! Thanks! Kathy & Tommy Very reasonably priced!

11/7/07 Dad said: I chopped wood the best I could to keep our bodies warm! Carol said: Oh! What a Beautiful Morning. Oh! What a Beautiful Day. We've had a beautiful visit and we are NEVER going away! The best part was meeting and seeing the little ones. Myrissa, Blake, Megan & "Leo"! Your dad had fun chopping wood and playing with the fireplace. The colors on the mountains popped out after the rain on Monday night. Feast for the eyes. The Moose Cafe at the Farmers Market in Asheville was the "surprise" of the trip. Yummy! The last day was the best of all. Road trip to see the Elk and dinner with family. We will be BACK! Dad & Carol

10/19/07 We really enjoyed staying at your cabin very much. It is a beautiful place to just come & relax but we were on the go all the time. Dillsboro was fun as always, but we found a little store in Waynesville that we loved called Cackleberry Mountain. We also went to a restaurant called the Sweet Onion that had excellent food. We had barbecue (BBQ) chicken & ribs and it was delicious. We tried to go to the Smokey Mt. park but the fog was so bad we had to turn around & come back. The leaves were beautiful going up there tho as far as we got. We are going on the Smokey Mt. railroad tommorrow tho leaving from Bryson City and hope to enjoy that. Our stay has been very pleasant. We loved the porch & the stream. (very peaceful) We are glad we found your place to come to.

7/26/07--"We had a great time in the Smokies! The Balsam House was the perfect place for our family as we explored the area. We loved just 'hanging out' and spending time together here in the mornings and evenings. On Wednesday we tackled our 1st 'Float Trip' as a family near Dillsboro. We survived and the 4 ladies in the family really appreciated coming back 'home'. We would highly recommend the Balsam Mountain Inn for meal time.....breakfast there was outstanding!"
