Location: Aptos, Central Coast, California, USA (Two Short Blocks from Rio Del Mar Beach)

Accommodations:  Triplex, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath (Sleeps 6)

We have 2 units, both are newly renovated two bedroom, one bathroom condominiums in a triplex close to Rio del Mar Beach. Unit A, the ground unit, includes a full patio with barbecue & patio furniture. Unit B, is a bright, upstairs unit with a vaulted ceiling.
Both units are across the road from Rio Sands hotel which boasts to be 100 steps to the beach. The units are at beach level and are a short enough walk for young children. Both units have a large window with views of Aptos and surrounding mountains and cliffs.

The units include flat panel television, DVD player, stereo, microwave, full kitchen with seated island, pots, pans and utensils, dining table and new furnishings. There are two queen size beds, and a pullout queen and a full bathroom. The unit sleeps 6 comfortably (in queen beds) and can easily accommodate 8. US & Canada toll free calling, ethernet port for high speed internet & Comcast Digital Cable are included.

On the short walk to the beach is the Pixie Deli, Café Rio Restaurant, variety store, and the Coffee Shop. A Shopping Center with Safeway, Movie Theatres, Safeway, Restaurants, etc. is minutes away. Activities nearby include: The Monterey Bay Aquarium, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Mystery Spot, Scotts Valley Roaring Camp Railroad, shopping in Capitola/Carmel-by-the-Sea/Monterey, Surfing, Kayaking, Scuba Diving, Golf, Disk Golf - DelaVeaga Park, Seascape Resort & Golf Course, and lots more. Pebble Beach, Carmel & Monterrey are a short 35 minute drive away.

Boogie boards, sand toys, beach towels, and other beach amenities are included.

  • I stayed with my two children and baby in Louise's rental. We had the time of our lives. The rental was very comfortable for my children and I. We either ate or prepared all meals there. And, it was big enough that we had enough room for all of our stuff for two weeks and space to relax and hang out in the evenings. The only thing I would say to be aware of is that when staying downstairs, you can hear everything with the upstairs neighbors, so if they are loud, it can be a bit of a challenge. And, it's not baby-proofed if you have a baby. The beach is a very walkable 2 1/2 blocks or so away. Louise provides all beach toys, boogie boards, sliders, etc. And, Louise herself is very kind and down to Earth. As for the beach, the sand was nice and soft, lots of room, lots of kids around to play with, great surf, lots of wonderful wildlife (dolphins, seals, sea birds), bathrooms, and fire pits. We had a blast! Thanks so much, Louise! We will never forget our time in Aptos!!

    I'm really glad you had a great time! I do apologize for the noise from upstairs. It has not been a problem in the past but we are looking into changing the type of flooring in the upper unit so it does not become consistent problem. As for baby proofing, it's hard to do as I have a variety of guests staying at the house. That being said, I would be happy to accomodate any needs any one has while they are staying (ie. having outlet covers available). So, don't be afraid to ask for anything! Thanks! Louise

  • This rental was my familys first experience and it was a great one. Everything was so clean. The owner made the transaction so easy. The rental is close everything, the beach, shops, and of course the boardwalk. I have to stress how clean the rental was, we usually take our own pillows and blankets to use, but I was highly satisfied with the linens. No worries whatsoever.   • Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your home with us! We had a fantastic time and there truly was everything we needed in the home. We loved to walk to the beach, and went to the boardwalk another day. We hope to use it again in the future. What a nice little town Aptos is, we ate in Capitola one night at casa rositas, (Man, they give you a lot of food, it is good too. ) We ate at Rivas on the SC wharf yesterday, great chowder and fish and chips and prices. We have very good friends in Felton, so this is close enough to visit them.

  • We stayed here in the upper unit of this building in October of 2008. We had a wonderful time and loved the property. It was a short walk to the beach and short drive to Santa Cruz with lots of great restaurants and shops. It was the perfect location for our trip to the Central Coast. The apartment was comfortable, clean and spacious. The town of Aptos was so cute and quiet, we loved it there. We actually got engaged while on this trip so it will always have a special memory for us. We would love to come back someday!

  • what a great find! our family of four had a fabulous weekend. it is a great location (close enough to the beach for a pokey 6 year old), with all the amenities we needed (esp. with kids!)& the price is right. we hope to stay here again!!!

  • Thanks Louise, It was absolutely lovely. Your place is decorated really nicely and was very comfy and so close to the beach- it was perfect. The beds were great, and even the pullout was super-comfy!! It was really quiet inside the condo too even though there was a lot going on in the street!!

  • We stayed in the bottom unit for almost a week. the location was wonderful - walking to the beach every morning was easy and enjoyable. the unit was very clean and the neighborhood was surprisingly quiet. the kitchen had everything necessary for an enjoyable stay. My only complaint was that the ceiling/upstairs floor was squeaky, so the guests above were noticeable. Even so, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat because of the great location!

  • We spent a long week July 25-28, 2008 and were very pleased with the 2 bedroom, upstairs unit. The unit is very spacious and clean! Everything you need is there, even beach chairs, umbrella, toys, etc. So, So, So much better than the Rio Sands across the street! The beach was close enough to walk with our 4 yr old and the unit was very child friendly. Stairs were easy to navigate. Unit was so quiet at night. We loved it and will be back!

  • This is a very nice place to stay me and my family just spent the weekend ,and had a great time. The beach is so close from the condo. The condo is nicely decorated and cozy. The owner provides plenty of towels,blankets, nonstick pots and pans, you name it they got it. Just bring your clothes and food. I gaurantee you will enjoy your stay. Thanks Louise we had fun :)

  • This is a great place! It's in a quiet neighborhood close to the beach. The unit was very clean and had everything we needed, including beach toys & chairs. Louise (the owner) was wonderful to deal with, friendly & accommodating. We had a great weekend & hope to return soon!
