Year Purchased: 2004
I moved to Alaska to work for a local physician 10 years ago and took care of this property for him. When he decided to sell , I thought beings as I was already managing it I thought I would give it a try and see if I could purchase it. Well I sold my home in Oregon and bought Alaska Kozey Cabins. I am happy for all my visitors in the Summer but it is a challenge in the Winter. I continue to trust God my creator and I am so thankful for all He has done. I still work for the Doctor especially in the Winter and spend more time gardening and taking care of guests in the Summer. I dream about not having a mortage just like everyone else. I also live on the property and enjoy the Moose that come through at times. I love watching the birds and squirrels its very nice here. Would love to have you as a guest and watch you just take a breath and step back from your busy life. Don't get me wrong we are full throttle in the Summer taking advantage of all that extended daylight. We go fishing and camping whenever we can and hiking with many maintained trails in the area. In this area there is so much to do flightseeing, airboats, ice trekking, walking on a glacier, Hatchers Pass gold mine and Hiking area. Matanuska Valley is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The mountains completely surround us so beautiful. I was raised on the Oregon Coast which I still love and visit once a year.
Why the Owner Chose Wasilla
Alaska Kozey Cabins is very easy to find fairly close to airport 45 minutes to an hours drive. Just far enough from the hustle and bustle to have some peace and quiet but close enough to be in the middle of it within minutes. The Matanuska Valley has so much to offer first time visitors and return guest. Musk Ox Farm and all it's History is so great. Where else can you come and stand in the middle of a herd of Caribou. We have a local golf course that is U.S. Open qualifying. You can walk on the Matanuska Glacier. Spend the day in Talkeetna and take a flightseeing trip viewing Denali and landing on Ruth Glacier. Hatchers Pass Gold Mine State Park is just ten miles up the road. The location of Kozey Cabins is only one mile off of the Parks Hwy. You can check out the map on my web site and don't forget to take the virtual tour. MY kitchen appliances have all been upgraded hopefully he'll download those pictures soon. Each of these houses have a full kitchen so they are so accomadating. The best alternative for your stay in the area. I do list a two night minimum but if you are in the area you can call in case there was a cancellation especially Summer. There are so many things to do in this area and use Kozey Cabins for your home away from home and take Day trips from here. Anchorage is less than an hour away with several museums such as Alaska Native Center and the Zoo is always fun! Denali is a bit of a drive at 4 hours but Matanuska Valley is the best place to spend your trip when you come to Alaska!
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Your house is set up with bedding and really everything you need in the kitchens except your groceries. Your morning Coffee is always provided and I would be happy to help you with any special requests as well. I am also a florist so for special events I would be happy to help you with any floral surprises. Your Chalet has extended cable channels as well as high speed internet. You will find your authentic alaskan log chalet very well built modern clean and comfortable. I have a very interesting list of guest which is confidential but includes some amazing people who have contributed in the entertainment world and local CFO and CEO who stayed while in the process of moving to the area. You will find the accomadations here clean and comfortable in a nicely tended area. My stay at cozy cabins was one I will never for get it. When I drove down the drive way I was amazed how beautiful it is landscaped and how at peace I felt. Check in with no problem Jenny the owner was very nice and helpfull with all my questions. My cabin was very clean and had everything in it that I needed the whole time I was there. It is located in the hart of Wasilla your in town but it feels like you are in the deep Alaska forest. Next time I go back to Alaska I will stay there again it's got everything you need and more. I even got to watch wild moose right out my cabin window what more could I ask for.

This is hands down the greatest place to stay in the valley, truly full log houses, not half way imitation,very secluded country setting yet downtown Wasilla is walkable, the cabins are each unique with modern conveniences including wireless internet and cable TV, not that you would want to be doing that when the scenery is so beautiful, fully equipped so all you need is clothes and food, I have stayed there both summer and winter and will definitely return every time
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Kozey Cabins is a lovely place! The property is absolutely beautiful and stunning. Our cabin was perfect for our Alaska vacation. The cabins are actually more like small houses. Very roomy and decorated nicely. If ever in Alaska, we will always choose to stay here again. I highly recommend anyone to make Kozey Cabins your home while vacationing in Alaska or if ever in the Wasilla area.

I had the time of my life on my vist to Alaska Kozay Cabins! I saw moose, went fishing in lakes and rivers, boating, saw glaciers, went on an Alaskan Glacier cruise, flight seeing, saw bears, caribou, eagles catching fish. I never imagined all the great adventures I would have in one trip. When you plan your trip to Alaska you really need to stay at Alaska Kozey cabins. The cabin even had wireless internet, TV and kitchen. Room for 6 of us and very comfortable. The property owner is very knowledgeable and helpful and the cabins and property are in great shape and there are flowers and wildlife all over the place.

My visit was a wonderful experience. The cabins are spacious, comfortable and decorated in true Alaskan style yet have mondern conveniences. The property is beautiful with colorful flowers everywhere. The property was much nicer than can be imagined or viewed ont he internet. It has to be experiences first hand to truly appreciate what you will find on this unique Alaskan experience. The cabins are clean and well-maintaned, the hostess is friendly and very helpful and knows the area and attractions well. She provided information on the area and local maps. I would recommend these cabins to anyone. There are wonderful restaruants nearby with a variety of menus and views of lakes and mountains. The cabins are located near ski area, Idiiatrod headquarters, lakes and one hour from airport. The hiking and fishing is great. Can't wait to get back there!

We all go through difficult times in our lives and she told me this was the perfect place for her to recooperate and later brought a friend in from another state who also took the house for another week.
