The nearest beach is about a quarter of a mile away and from there beach flows into beach, Tunnels, Shell, Ke'e making every curve in the road a reason for awe. I'm a world traveller and have found Kauai to be one of the most special places I've come across. It is not only beautiful but also full of magic.
Why the Owner Chose Hanalei
I bought this home for my children and I to live in. I am a retired nurse now trying to shift my career into the creative..ie; writing and photography. This property is a wellspring of inspiration on so many levels. My children are grown and are now living on the mainland so I a couple of years ago i began renting the home to vacationers.., bed and breakfast style.. and what a reward that has been!, So many guests that have visited have chosen to make it a home away from home , blending in with our local aloha "vib" and becoming part of the ohana of our beautiful north shore..I always look forward to the next vist of these special friends.. We have the tropical rainforest all around which not only brings clean fresh air but a kind of magic that belongs only to Kauai.. That's why I say bring a wish. There is something special here, something
that has vanished in the fast moving world of traffic and technology. I keep my prices a little on the low side , I know, and I'm told I shouldn't, but so far i seem , for the most part, to have attracted guests who suit this world and have great appreciation for the specialness that is here, and that is priceless to me..
The Unique Benefits of this home
The views from the outdoor lanai are awesome.I love having early morning coffee on the lanai with the birds joining in. I love that there are so many different exotic plants on the property, like having your own private botanical gardens. I love hearing the river and the ocean and the birds and no traffic!! I love that there are so many beaches, right there just down the lane, to chose from. I have lived there 5 years now and still keep discovering something new.

We loved our time here- Kauai is now our favorite Hawaiian Isalnd, and the North Shore our favorite part. This cottage is fantastic- can't beat the view! Many thanks to Dawn for being such a wonderful hostess and really making us feel at home. Our highlights: snorkeling at Tunnels, hiking the Na Pali Trail, and swimming under a waterfall, bodysurfing at Secret Beach..we also enjoyed ziplining on the East Side" Just LIve" We will most definately be back!
