Come pick your own mangos and bananas, or help us harvest our coffee beans if this is something you would enjoy.
Take a ten minute walk to Kealakekua bay, a marine sanctuary with crystal clear waters, well known for its premier snorkeling, scuba diving and kayaking. Kealakekua Bay is also home to the playful and wonderfully entertaining Hawaiian spinner dolphins and is visited during the winter months by humpback whales.
A swim with these magnificent creatures would be an amazing and well remembered experience of your visit on the Big Island!

Owner Description
The owners of this house are healers. We find our land ( and the Big Island in general ) to be a very relaxing, healing, and fun place to live and spend time. We aspire to one day create a green wellness retreat center on our property.
For now, it will be rented as a vacation rental.
Why the Owner Chose Kealakekua Bay
The house and land were specifically chosen to one day be a wellness retreat center. This house is located on sacred hawaiian land - historically this region was only permitted for the tribe's king and family. One can not describe the "feeling" of this place through photos. A common comment of guests is that our place feels very peaceful and relaxing. It is much closer to a true hawaiian experience than being in Kona or Waikoloa. Being so close to Kealakekua Bay was also a big draw for us. This is a marine sanctuary and resting region for the wild spinner dolphins. I have never seen water as clean and clear as it is in this bay ( and surrounding areas.) Also, being able to kayak and swim with dolphins in the bay is such a special treat. There is a small beach on one side of the bay that you can use to access remote beach spots along the coast ( walking.) No crowds here.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our property is very unique. It is very private and spacious, and there is an unobstructed panoramic view of the coastline. We also have the best sunset viewing from our lanai. To the left of our property, there is a lava field w/ a family of wild goats that roam there. They like to call out to us from time to time - generally while we are enjoying morning coffee on the deck. There are several species of birds that nest on our land. You can often see them flying over our property in flocks. They also like to sing in the monkey pod tree ( located at the lower end of the property.) It is amazing to stand underneath the tree and hear them in concert. We also have seasonal butterflies - many of them will be fluttering around the monkey pod tree as well. New papaya trees keeping popping up, and we have the best seasonal mango tree on the island. You may even get the chance to pull a large banana bunch from our banana tree grove. If you crave being in nature and having space around you, then this is your perfect place to stay!
