A PERFECT WEEKEND ESCAPE FOR A COUPLE OR A FAMILY
One of a kind cabin and property right on Groom Creek. This cabin was built in the 1950's and it's rustic charm is contagious. New tile flooring and nicely remodeled bathroom gives the cabin an update without losing it's warm and rustic feeling.
As you drive down the narrow lane and pass an old stagecoach, it is easy to start relaxing and leave your cares behind. Majestic pine trees and more as the seasonal creek is lined with lush vegetation and yellow columbines in the summer.
The flagstone terrace is the perfect place to sit back and bird watch or get a chuckle from watching the playful squirrels jump from tree branch to tree branch. There is a good chance you will even see a family of deer stopping for a cool drink from the creek. There is a picnic table and a propane grill for your use.
There are plenty of trails for hiking, mountainbiking and quadings within a few minutes walk from the cabin. A drive up Spruce mountain will give you a majestic view of the Bradshaw mountains and the Prescott area. After a hike to Goldwater Lake for some fishing or kayaking, you can return to the cabin for a relaxing nap on the large screened in porch.
An easy drive to the center of Prescott where there are always a variety of activities going on in the summer. Sit and relax around Prescott courthouse, shop the antique and mom and pop shops, listen to great local bands, grab a bite in one of the many local eateries or taste the historic feel of Prescott along Whiskey Row.
We have had several guests celebrate special events such as birthdays, anniversaries and reunions at our place. This very special cabin and setting will give you many good memories to take home with you.

This beautiful piece of property was bought by my aunt and uncle in 1967. As a child I spent many memororable summers at the cabin and exploring the area. My husband and I purchased the property in 1997 and spent every weekend here until 2001 when we pulled up our roots in Phoenix and happily moved into this cabin. In 2005 we moved into our house which we built across the creek. Since then we have been offering our Groom Creek cabin through VRBO to others as a place to "get away" and relax and enjoy this beautiful area as we have for so many years.

My husband and I fell in love with this wonderful cabin in the woods. Joey and Pat were wonderful, gracious, and accommodating hosts. We highly recommend this cozy cabin that is surrounded by a beautiful landscape and is totally peaceful. We are looking forward to reserving our spot next summer for a longer stay in the charming cabin. Thank you so much Joey and Pat for a wonderful vacation!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Very quiet. Very relaxing. Our dog enjoyed the setting, too. Four deer visited us every evening. The cabin was fully stocked with everything we needed. Joey and Pat were very nice and friendly to us. Quick few minutes drive to beautiful Goldwater Lake. Short drive to town. Will definitely be going back for our vacation next year, unless we've already moved to Prescott. Will recommend to family and friends.

My husband and I along with our teenage daughter and two of her friends spent the weekend at this cabin. We had a great time! The setting is perfect with the cabin in among the tall pines and next to a creek... postcard perfect. The cabin was clean and well equipped with everything we needed and the girls thoroughly enjoyed sleeping in the loft. The BBQ and outdoor firepit were a bonus ... at night we enjoyed toasting marshmallows and eating S'mores by the fire... yum! The cabin has a remote setting but is still close enough to Prescott to make a quick trip into town to wander along Whiskey Row or enjoy a restaurant meal. We would highly recommend a stay here.

My husband and I have been "test driving" rental cabins North of Phoenix for 2 years, looking for the perfect marriage of lodging and environment. It had been a fruitless venture until we found your sweet cabin in Groom Creek. We agreed that we need not look any further, that this is where we'll escape the chaotic pace in Phoenix to come and renew our energies. It was a great couple days, a much appreciated escape from the heat, and deliciously relaxing. I can't wait to come back!!! And I promise, Joey, next time we won't make off with your pillows!!!! :) Dennis and Kathy Adamson Phoenix, AZ

Rustic and charming is an under statement. If you are looking for a place to relax and do nothing or take in the activities of Prescott you won't find a better cabin to stay at. Close enough to town but far enough away that when it was time to take a nap on the porch no one bothered you. Pat and Joey are excellent hosts, they made sure everything was neat, clean and in order for us when we arrived. We have recommended this property to everyone we know. Goldwater lake is a great place to spend the day. You can fish or just find a bench in the shade and read your favorite book. There were yard sales and estate sales all over town and of course a trip to Prescott wouldn't be complete with a trip to the Casino. We look forward to returning this fall (or sooner) when time permits. Thank you for providing the ideal place to come and do a little rest and relaxation.

My mom, sister & bro-in-law came in from Phoenix - July 2010 - This was the perfect mini retreat and get-away. The monsoons were here and the weather was rainy and cool. My mom, 72, said she was so delighted that she could enjoy cooler weather; it had been 110-115 in Phoenix). She didn't mind just sitting on the screened-in porch and watching the rain. I had hoped for a little monsoon rain so the creek would be running, and got more than I'd bargained for. This was a really nice little place. We had my brother & his family out one night and brought our UTV up so we could drive up and down the roads. We got drenched but loved it, muddy roads and all. My Mom was most happy with the owner (can't remember if the guy was Pat or Joey, sorry) brought her over a cane so she could feel a little less insecure about walking down the steps to the creek. And he told her the history of the cabin; she really enjoyed that; Thank you! If you're looking for a comfortable, fun & very inexpensive place to stay in Groom Creek (Prescott AZ) you may really like this one. "Rustic & Charming" are perfect words to describe the cabin. It was very clean too. We went shopping one day and also ran up to Goldwater lake, only moments away, but it's so beautiful where the cabin's at, you don't have to go anywhere to have a good time. We got some really great photos of the creek and family. Enjoy!
Owner response:Brenda, I'm sorry I couldn't personally meet you and your family during your stay at our Groom Creek cabin. But it sounds like my husband, Pat, was a gracious host to you. Thanks for the nice descriptive review you wrote. Hopefully it will help others when choosing a place to stay in the Prescott area. Hope to see you again. Joey

Great cabin, great location - very quaint, quiet and clean. Our two young boys had a blast playing in the loft and exploring the forest and stream adjacent to the cabin. Made a few quick trips to Goldwater Lake with the kids and dogs for hiking- just a 5 minute drive away from the cabin. Would definitley recommend this cabin!

Thank you so much for everything! We had a wonderful time and the cabin is awesome! It was so fun to get to spend time with 2 of our children in such a "neat" cabin. Pat, thank you for keeping the fire going, sure wish our weather would have been warmer. Thanks again for everything! Matt & Jane and family

Pat and Joey, Thank you for the most rewarding retreat we have experienced in our lifetimes. Your most gracious and unique hospitality exceeded our expectations at every juncture of the journey. The warmth, charm and rustic glow of the cabin are a direct reflection of the both of you. We will always treasure our memories of this trip and the kindness you afforded us. Sincerely, Jim and Art

Thanks for the serenity I was able to find even if it was just for a couple of days. Your cabin was lovely and cozy and the location is perfect. I'll be coming to this area more often and who knows, we may be locals someday. Christine(Tucson)
