Gazebo on a peninsula with 790 ft shoreline. You must see the gorgeous view to fully appreciate this property! I can gladly send you more photos of the home. I think reading comments from past guests is the best way to help make a decision. Relaxing, piece of heaven, retreat, lovely are some adjectives used.
Newly redone master bathroom and floors in all but bedrooms.
You may not want to leave to visit the many activities that are nearby. The wildlife is incredible to view and there is always fun activity to watch while sitting in the gazebo by the lake or the deck by the house. Only 10 minutes (speed boat)-20 minutes (pontoon) to see the 750,000 Purple Martins roost each night on Bomb Island during the summer months.
Can use Crooked Creek in Chapin for tennis, gym basketball etc.
Guests love the privacy of the property and the 2 kayaks that are available for use.
You may launch boats on the property. Fishermen would enjoy some of the most renowned bass fishing in the nation. Boat rentals and launching sites are nearby. We are 10 minutes from Billy Dreher Island.
You can choose between relaxing on the deck or going down to the gazebo by the lake.
There is wi-fi on site and Dish Network with 2 High Definition televisions.
We enjoy cooking and if you do, we have supplied some spices that you may want to use.
It is two hours from Charleston, SC, approx 1 hour and 15 minutes from The Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta National, 3 minutes to Timberlake Golf Plantation, other golf courses 20 minutes away (Golf is a bargain in this area). Mountains are 1 1/2 hours drive. Come see your favorite graduate at Ft. Jackson(40 min. away) the University of SC (30 min.). Many choices (museums, theatre, zoo) are in Columbia, SC just 30 minutes away. Riverbanks is one of the top 10 Zoos in the US. ,

We had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas here. The view was fantastic. Renting this lovely house enabled us to spend the holiday with our son and daughter's family. Our son lives in Irmo and brought his family daily to play with their cousins from Georgia. Our grandchildren really enjoyed playing in the front yard, collecting pinecones, acorns and watching ducks on the lake. There is nothing like being together with family for the holidays. Renting this house made it possible. We would love to come back and rent it again summer or winter.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We enjoyed our stay in your very comfortable home. What a spectaular view!! We are so impressed with Lake Murray and the surrounding towns. During this stay, we viewed over a dozen homes. In addition to looking at houses to buy, we "managed" to get in a couple of rounds of golf at Timberlake and Mid-Carolina. Had a great lunch at Copper Pot Bistro and took a breath taking boat ride.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much for renting your lake house to us for our wedding week in Chapin. We absolutely LOVED Lake Murray and your property. It's gorgeous! Even with the craziness leading up to the wedding, we were able to enjoy a couple of nights grilling under the stars. The best memory is waking up to the beautiful sunrise on the day after the wedding. This home will never be forgotten. Much Thanks! The Newly WedsDid you find this review helpful? We enjoyed your home very much! Gorgeous views and quiet surroundings. Went on the boat everyday and now we are waterlogged. Saw the purple martins and what a sight that was. My daughter wants to bring an umbrella the next time she sees the birds! Thank you for your hospitality.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We enjoyed the splendid view of the lake and could not seem to get enough of it. The ducks and turtles were a delight and even chasing the geese for us. The fellas enjoyed kayaks while I just relaxed and enjoyed the security of the lake. Your home was a spacious and exactly as described which led to a relaxing week for us all. Bless you both and may you continue in good health.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: My husband Andy and I live on Lake Murray and absolutely love it! Andy was a pilot for Pan Am and then Delta and commuted to New York in order to live on the lake. He now is a golfer and can gladly help you with any area golf questions. I am a former French teacher and love to be in or on the lake. If you don't have a boat, my arm could easily be twisted to take you for a ride.
Why the Owner Chose Chapin:
We had been renting it as annual rental since 1991 and decided to do VRBO. It's been fun! We travel and have always loved staying in Bed and Breakfasts. This is the next best thing as we aren't tied down to daily work, but have the joy of providing to renters, what we think is special. We love telling people about the lake and area, but most people do not want to leave the relaxation of the water and house.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
All guests comment on how much they love the gazebo, which is right beside the lake.
Renters who bring boats, love being able to launch boats from the property and park their trailers. There is a lot of room for kids to play & big 'kids' games. Sun rises are spectacular.
