Thank you very much for this beautiful place. We were able to come and spend the week amongst the beautiful fall leaves, sunrise and peacefulness. We came to see our son graduate from Fort Jackson Basic training and this home was a much needed respite to come together before we drove him to Ft. Lee Va. Well, what can we say. What an adventure we had the first day!We had such a good time the more we talked about it. It was a great way to start our vacation. The "fishy" people enjoyed fishing every day. Leah said she enjoyed all of the fish jumping and she saw many turtle heads. The kids and I really enjoyed the kayaks. They were perfect to just tootle around and to relax. The gazebo is great!! The shack (gazebo) and breeze off of the lake are wonderful. We thank you for opening your home to us!! We're so happy our first time doing VRBO was A+++ We're already talking about coming back.

This was our first time renting a home for a vacation & it couldn't have been a better experience. The owners were very nice & communication was great. The house was just right for our family of 6, not too small not too big & 1 floor. Property was as described, the kayaks were great easy to use if never used before. Gazebo was wonderful for reading,eating & lake watching. Found a public beach on the south side of the dam which we enjoyed 2 days. Fishing was enjoyable & nice that they just had to walk out of the house. We would recommend this property. We are thinking about returning for another trip. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

What a wonderful relaxing week. No better way to recharge your battery than with your precious children in such a beautiful setting. Every morning we thought there wouldn't be any way the day's sunrise could top the day before, but it did! The sunsets were equally spectacular. We were truly blessed by this opportunity for reunion, rest, relaxation. Thomas is deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, Ft. Jackson currently, so we've been apart the last 2 1/2 years. Your home allowed him to put his fishing boat in and enjoy as many hours on the water as possible. We also loved visiting the local area, spending Sat. in Newberry at the vineyards and winery at the Newberry Opera House and Carter Home Orchid Center. It was so refreshing to sit and watch the water, feel the breeze while pondering what God has made for us. Thank you for the wonderful setting and beautiful accomodations you shared with us. Many prayers for continued health and happiness in your "joy filled" home.

We had a wonderful time staying at your house on the lake. We visited Congaree National Park and rented a pontoon boat from Better Boats it was very enjoyable. We went to some great places to eat including The Rust Anchor, Zorbas, Buffalo Creek Grill, and Timberlake Club House We went fishing almost everyday but didn't catch one thing (well 1 little catfish but he didn't count) We really enjoyed your home and the great view ,it was very relaxing sitting out on the dock. Shane enjoyed playing golf with Andy and we enjoyed meeting both of them. We also had fun tryiing to kayak in the lake and float on the rafts. Also while we were on the pontoon boat and we rented a tube for the back. We had a blast, just a little sore the next day. We can't wait to come back.

This was the perfect spot. Our son was able to easily come and go from his summer classes at USC. We rented a boat from Brown's for most of the week-very helpful (Tom) Eat at El Pablano one night, excellent - per Ellen's suggestion in book. Lovely week enjoyed by all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at the lake this year. The house was well equipped and comfortable, the grounds were atrractive, and of course, the view was spectacular! We enjoyed being able to fish and tube right off the dock and the location was great-very close to whatever we wanted to do. We loved the privacy and serenity. It was very relaxing.

We took a 12 hours drive from Pa. to get our vacation, and it was worth it!! We had a great time on the lake, kayaking, swimming and rafting. It was truly a blessing from God to see this beautiful place. Our Dad even saw 'bubbah" the biggest fish he ever saw and that's no fish story. Hope you all enjoy it as much as we did!

We love this vacation, very relaxing, enjoyed the birds, the wonderful view of the lake. Thanks for talking to us about bringing the boat. It was terrific. The kids had a blast, enjoyed having the purple martins. We have martins fly through our barnyard catching bugs all the time. You all have the best location with the size of the lot etc. The dock is terrific. This has been one of our best vacations. The lake was nice, not so busy through the week. Your home with its spectacular views is so beautiful! We enjoyed every relaxing minute. The kayaks were a great way to get around to the other close areas of the lake. Amanda enjoyed her relaxing time away from college life! She brought a friend over for the day and they had a great time in the kayaks. Lauren (who is recently engaged) now wants to have her ceremony by the water. Our only regret is that we didn't find your lovely home earlier in Amanda's USC career. What a beautiful view! The lake is even more beautiful than we had imagined. Our family so enjoyed our week here in so many ways just taking in all of God's beautiful creation. We loved getting up in the early morning and going out on th deck with coffee and our Bibles and spending time with God and thanking him for all the wonderful things he made. The weather was perfect, the fishing was great, we played croquet and my husband and son threw the baseball. My daughter loved the sunning on the deck and the boat riding. God has truly blessed you with a beautiful place here and we thank you for shring it with us. We look forward to coming back many times in the future. I still need to catch that huge large-mouth bas that broke my line at the dock! May God bless your family.

I found your rental on VRBO and how impressed we are! You have a beautiful home. We came to columbia area for our daughter's graduation from Columbia International University and stayed for Christmas. We had a wonderful time. Our kids kayaked on the lake, my husband did some fishing-we even caught some brim and cat fish! I was able to enjoy some gorgeous sunrises and a relaxing time with our family. I can not brag enough about this wonderul home and the owners. You have to see the view to believe it for yourself. The home is very spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. You have a huge yard for the kids to play in and a beautiful gazebo that is wonderful to just sit under and relax right by the lake. We enjoyed it so much and plan to be back soon! Your lake home is beautiful, peaceful, warm and inviting! We immediately felt like we were at our "home-away-from-home." The view of the lake is gorgeous and calming; the kayaks were soothing and fun; and the dock and gazebo were restful and wonderful! We also thoroughly enjoyed your spacious backyard and deck. Thanks for a great 3 days! Fishing was slow but we had fun. We rented a pontoon boat to fish off of so that was fun. The house was really cool as well as the dock and gazebo. You place is very beautiful, especialy the water views! We enjoyed the birds, turtles, herrons, gare fish, and trees-just beginning to change. We only had a short time to enjoy our pontoon boat as the weather was uncooperative (rain and cool temps) but we did get to the Rusty Anchor and the Yacht Club. Dear Andy and Ellen, We stayed at this property June 14-21st, just in time for Father's Day. My family and extended family came for the day and we ALL agreed this was the best Father's Day we've ever had!! The gazebo was the prime spot to be in, with the ocean like breeze, lake view as far as you can see, and the sound of soft waves hitting the shore. Even for June weather the gazebo stayed shaded and cool. Everyone loved swimming in the water and the stairs made it very easy to get in and out. My cousin stopped by and went fishing. He caught 11 catfish, 7 of those during the day! We were fortunate enough to be at your home during the Summer Solstice and every night spent hours outside just looking at the full moon over the water. You really do have a magical place. Thank You so much for sharing this property. We loved it so much, we changed our wedding date and venue to have it there!

We had an awesome week with really great hot weather. Eric and I and our 3 children loved the place and thought the view was wonderful. We went boating, fishing and tubing all week. We saw the purple martins one evening and thought it was really neat! Our youngest (4) had a great time fishing with his daddy off the dock. He always caught more fish than his sisters and he loved that! We are already looking forward to another great week next summer. A wonderful week! Started a little rough with a night of thunderstorms and a lot of rain but got better with a lot of sun. My wife, Debbie and I visited Lake Murray to look at the possibility of moving here in a few years. We are sold on Lake Murray. Thank you Ellen and Andy for sharing the house and its location.
