My husband and I spent 7 nights in Berlin at the Miniloftmitte. We found the accomodations to be perfect for our wonderful week in the city. The apartment was perfectly located, well-appointed with everything we needed, well maintained, and the staff was very helpful. Also the Berlin guide book that was provided was invaluable to help us get around the city, and the restaurant recommendations were perfect. We highly recommend the Minilofts to anyone traveling in Berlin!

With a homemade coffee and freshly baked bread from the bakery around the corner to start the day. The dining table was my favorite place to plan a day of sightseeing. The tips en trips provided in de Miniloft Berlin Guide were a great addition. The Miniloft provides you a house in Berlin. It is overwhelming spacious.

I recently travelled to Berlin with my mother and 2 eldest sons (aged 10 and 12). My aim was to find a place that was affordable and enabled us to stay together - I didn't want to get two hotel rooms. I also wanted a place where we could happily hang out in our downtime, that was well positioned in terms of the main sites and that reflected the transformation that the city has undergone over the years. Miniloft Berlin delivered on all accounts. Our "flexible" loft offered amble sleeping and living space and we were really able to relax and spend time together. We couldn't believe how close we were to so many sites, cafes and restaurants - the Hauptbahnhof, Hamburger Hof (Museum of Contemporary Art) and the Berlin Wall Memorial were only a short walk away. We loved the sleek, minimalist design of the lofts and the boys loved how an old building was made to look cool! There are so many nice touches at Miniloft - the superb Miniloft guide with restaurant and local walk recommendations, free wi-fi, chilled drinks in the fridge and complimentary tea and coffee. The staff in the Miniloft office are incredibly helpful and informative and we are grateful for their breakfast recommendations! We loved our stay at Miniloft and will definitely be back. My 10 year old summed it up....Miniloft is AWESOME.

We spent a week in a Miniloft compact studio in September 2012. We found the location excellent. We could live like Berliners and shop for groceries in the area. The studio was comfortable, airy and well kept. We had everything we needed for self-catering. The staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful with useful tips. No unpleasant surprises. If we return to Berlin we would definitely stay there again.

Berlin is emerging as a city of cutting edge contemporary architecture (Helmut Jahn at Sony Centre, Daniel Libeskind at Jewish Museum, Norman Foster at Reichstag dome) set alongside the magesty of old buildings (Museum Island, Berlin Dom etc) as well as a city of transformed living areas. This is why we selected the Miniloftmitte for our stay in Berlin. The cutting edge design of the building and the apartments in an emerging trendy location was perfect for our week stay- a perfect match between living and the city. We have stayed in many apartments in various cities across the world but we thought that this would be the best in terms of a match of the living with the city. And we were not disappointed- the experience certainly matched the expectation. A short walk from the new (magnificent) railway station and short amble to the chic emerging areas around the start of Friedrichstrasse, Miniloft was perfectly placed. As always, apartment living gives you the flexibility for self-catering as well as eating and drinking out but Miniloft provides the extra edge of living in a very contemporary setting in a quiet older area currently undergoing transformations. Extra touches such as shower gel specifically designed for the apartments was a real treat- loved that burnt orange fragrance. At first we were disappointed that the nearly U6 line was under reconstruction but after the first day we realized that we could walk everywhere we wanted to go from the apartment- all the museums and significant buildings and in doing so have the benefit of coming across unexpected gems. Although we saw almost all the galleries and museums as well as the buildings, we almost never used the trains or buses. In terms of personnel, communication before, during and after our stay with the managers was excellent and we would have no hesitation in recommending Miniloft to anyone interested in traveling to Berlin to understand the city and its people.

Miniloft is the perfect accommodation for a trip to Berlin! It was clean, conveniently located and the service was impeccable. Unlike a stuffy hotel or a shady hostel - it truly felt like home. We will certainly be staying there again in future trips to Berlin. Thank you, Minilofts!

It was the second time I stayed at Miniloft and this time I brought my family - wife and two teenage sons. To my satisfaction the apartment worked just as well for the whole family as it had done for me when I stayed there myself. Perfect apartment to make yourself at home and in an excellent location, central but quiet. We enjoyed the architecture, the materials, the furniture and the equipment. Extra plus for providing oil, salt and pepper for cooking and salad-eating if you feel like staying at home at night....We ould gladly recommend Miniloft to anyone!

We were a family of 3. Stayed in Berlin for 3 nights and LOVED the Miniloft. Very cool desing, very clean and very well located. You can walk everywhere from there. We also loved the guide book written and provided by the owners of the Miniloft. Very informative and fun. And the owners were very relaxed, let us stay way passed the check out hour which was great for us to spend extra time in the beautiful city. We will definitely go back!!

Our stay in Miniloft was simply perfect! The apartment is exactly as advertised: beautiful architecture, very comfortable and well equiped, clean and specially very well located! You can see all main city atractions by foot, or if you prefer, using one of the public transportations nearby, but you have a lot to do walking (Bundestag, Museum Island, old Berlim courtyards - recommend this one, is absolutely beautiful! - and much more). The neighborhood is cute and full of options to eat and you can walk even at night - it's very safe. Other diferential was the city guide provided by the owners, it's the best you can have of the "insider tips", very very useful. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend to others!

Sorry to be so late with my review but I wanted to get it on because I depend so much on these reviews when I use this site. This was a nice studio, very large and open. Kitchen was more of a wet bar type of kitchen but was fine for what we needed. It was off the main path so was very quiet. We walked to most restaurants and the market. Great hairdresser in front that we used, one of the best haircuts I have ever had. Up a few flights of stairs but worked ok for us. Overall a very nice experience. Management was great and check in easy.

We spent a week over New Year's in a Miniloft apartment and were delighted by our stay. The apartment was spacious and thoughtfully fitted out with everything we needed - including pots and pans, an iron, dishes, organic shampoo and dish soap. The design was gorgeous, minimalist, and so tasteful. We loved the concrete heated floors - despite the minimalist design and large windows, the apartment was truly cozy. The location was also great, in the center of town and very close to a subway stop, as well as within walking distance of many of our sightseeing goals and museums. Probably the best thing though was the guidebook the owners (who are also the building's architects!) wrote themselves, with insider tips and tons of information about the neighborhood and Berlin. We tried four of their restaurant recommendations and they were all spot on. You have your own key and don't have to pass reception so you feel quite independent, but there was always someone in the office during the day ready to help and answer our (many!) questions. They were extremely friendly and welcoming. The only thing to note is that it is a true loft, just one large room, so keep in mind that privacy would be limited if you are a larger group. I imagine a family with children would find it comfortable. Highly recommended!

I spent 3 nights at the Miniloft in October. I absolutely loved my stay. Everything one could possibly need was there. I especially enjoyed the space itself. When I was in the room I felt comfortable and safe, and I looked forward to returning at the end of the day. The bed was as comfortable as they come The Miniloft is very private and calm, and yet it s in a great location, close to everything, and within walking distance to many attractions. The free wifi was a gift. The guidebook was especially well written and fun. I used this to plan my days, and it has one of the best maps I found in Berlin. The Miniloft is an attraction in itself. I have never before stayed in a place quite so thoughtfully conceived, and when I return to Berlin, this will be my first choice.

Owner response: Thank you Jan! It was a pleasure having you here.

My wife and I, who are 69, recently stayed in a "compact" apartment for a week. We have only good things to report: The space, though modest, is intelligently used, and the large vertical windows, with drapes of alternating colours, make the atmosphere seem at once open, airy, and big. Normally, my wife's first instincts on being installed in a space is to start moving furniture around; here, alas, she had nothing to do. In terms of utensils, appliances, and the like, there was everything we needed, except a regular oven for cooking - but perhaps this is entailed in the notion of a kitchen"ette." Moreover, the things provided were of a very high quality - heavy pots, big wine glasses in the kitchenette; plush towels, good bedding, interesting shampoo, etc. elsewhere. So the feel of the place is of unadorned, even austere, space, made warm through the accoutrements of living. The building itself is a joy to return to, and the location, though central, unusually quiet. Most important is the intelligent helpfulness of management and staff. One of the things we like to do on holiday is buy ingredients we cannot get at home, and then cook. For this we could have used a bigger fry pan, and when we asked whether one was available from a different apartment, within half an hour somebody went and purchased one for us. As well, there is a wonderful guidebook to the neighbourhood, and to Berlin at large - maps, for instance, with concentric circles of 5, 10, 15... minute walks, showing where to take a coffee, where to buy groceries, where to eat, to get money, etc. Indeed, having a week to fill between commitments in England and France, and wanting to visit a city new to us, we chose Berlin partly on the strength of the guidebook, as it always takes a while to get one's bearing in a strange city, and for a short stay this is a shame. Knowing the city a bit as we now do, would we choose to stay at Miniloft again? Yes, absolutely.

I've stayed at Minilofts a couple of times and love it there. The building is so fine to return to, shiny slender curves welcome me home. Nice kitchenette and sitting areas, nice view through big windows that let in lots of light, cozy warm floors. It's close to museums, shopping, excellent restaurants (and a fresh french fries stand), U-bahn and trolleys. The rooms are clean, staff helpful (Eleanor is a gem!). They have a really helpful written guide for walks in the area, as well as how to get around and find the basics (post office, atm...) My little home in Berlin.

We stayed at Minilofts for a pre-Christmas holiday and couldn't have been happier. After trekking through snowy Berlin and visiting Christmas markets, it was such a pleasure to come back to our own home away from home. The 'Extroverted' apartment was one large room with high ceilings (that's the definition of a loft I guess!), but nicely divided, with a sleeping area, kitchen/dining area, and living area with great couches and a big TV with English channels and a DVD player. We had everything we needed, and especially liked the huge windows and heated floor. It's a very stylish place, the raw concrete walls and floor are so modern and beautiful. It's in a great location, walking distance to many sights, including Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, and the Berlin Wall memorial. The neighborhood restaurants are excellent (we especially liked La Bonne Franquette and Weinbar Rutz). The owners have written a wonderful guide to the neighborhood and Berlin, including restaurant recommendations and guided walks such as an architecture walk and an art walk. Highly recommended, we'll be back in the summer!
