We had two families for Thanksgiving in the Nut House, and it was a perfect home for us all. The kids were entertained, we could all share time together in the living room, on the deck, or at the fire pit, but then when we needed time to ourselves it was spacious enough that we had plenty of privacy. This was a great mountain get away for our families. Views, hot tub, hiking, and lots of games, yet very peaceful. We highly recommend!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

You have blessed us with this AMAZING house with a great view! This house is so fun for the kids and adults! Lots of exploring to do! I hope to come back next year. What a beautiful house with a hot tub, game room, fireplace, and an amazing view. We are blessed that someone like you would give us this house to use. Thank you for everything, and we are all sad that this is our last day in this astonishing house. Even when we hiked, we thought about the warm beautiful house that was waiting for us and when we got home we had an amazing Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you for everything!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This is an amazing place. We are sure that we will be back here next year. The Nut House is a nice getaway for not only fall but for any weekend. I am glad that we had an opportunity to stay in this warm & cozy place. The Nut House is a fantastic getaway from busy lives common to so many of us. The view from the master bedroom is breathtaking. Thank for for letting us share your house!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Held in God's Hands are His majestic, magnificent, luscious, woodsy mountains just beginning to transform their colors. They are immersed in blankets of seemingly transparent marshmallow clouds. Suspended trees reaching their limbs way up into a powder bluish-grey sky are swaying in the cool wind. A winding road from Starvin Marvins lead us up to Field Mouse Lane, where the ever enchanted Nut House is perched. Every angle in the Nut House is absolutely precious and in a stylish mountain motif designed with love by Tracey. Jim & I are on our honeymoon here staying up the staircase in a glorious room that has the sights, sounds and feel of being in a tree house. Many trees scattered about have begun to change their colors, while others' leaves softly soar toward the ground without a sound. Out of the infinite silence and tranquility the rain sings its song and an echo from afar of a lone bird chirps. Balsam and Maggie Valley are truly away from it all and Heavenly. Outside, if you listen, you can hear Running Bear Creek rushing through the rocks below. We met Jerry Wolf, a Cherokee Indian storyteller at the Cherokee Indian Museum. He was so sweet and full of life. Everyday is an adventure about to happen, a Love Story. My Mom & Ed are on one of their many honeymoons and they're staying in the room of the wolves. We are so grateful. Thank you, Tracey, for the opportunity to spend time vacationing in your wondrous home. Love & May God bless you & guide you from His wisdom within you. It was great to meet you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We got back to nature and reaffirmed our everlasting love for each other. This wonderful house in the middle of Gods gorgeous mountain scenery gave us a weekend of peace and bonding none of us will soon forget. For all who come after us, seek and embrace this peace, for it will renew your inner strength. May God bless all who have been touched by the love and wonder of The Nut House. Thank you for sharing The Nut House with us. The house was wonderful and give the 8 of us plenty of room & activities to keep a family that ranged in age from 12-70 totally entertained. We enjoyed our time with our Florida Family. The Nut House is exactly what the description says it is: an amazing must-do stay. We had so much fun with the Nut House. The view was SPECTACULAR, the set-up of the house, along with the furniture, is very beautiful. This is the best memory we have had with all our relatives and I hope we come back someday and stay longer. Thank you so much!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We would like to thank you for such a wonderful summer stay at your "Nut House." From our 2-year old to Pop Pop we all had such a great time. I think the ongoing sentiment was "it was just too short a stay."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My, oh my! What a surprise greeted us as we turned by "Starvin' Marvins"! SNOW!!! Flurries started & we started squealing & cheering! Almost 4 inches over the next day & evening & we enjoyed a winter wonderland! Since all but one of our group lives at the beach, you can imagine the fun! This cabin home is perfectly appointed for our group ranging from a 2-year-old great granddaughter, 4 plus mates young adult children, middle-aged me and my 81-year-old mother, the greatgrandma of the family! Enjoyed the "goodie basket" & the hot tub in the falling snow. Thank you for your fabulous cabin!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

At first, we couldn't believe the view. Then, while we were walking around the house, we couldn't get over how beautiful it was. We hadn't even thought about s'mores, but there they were. Every time we needed something in the kitchen, we could open a drawer & find it. Our stay was above & beyond our expectations, and we'll remember that view from the hot tub forever. Thanks for everything!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much for allowing our group to share your "little piece of Heaven" in the mountains. All of us needed a break from the "neon lights." We enjoyed a nice mix of a rainy day with a fabulous thunder storm and a gorgeous sunny day on the golf course. We ate every meal at the house so we wouldn't miss the beautiful views & sunsets. We wish you the best & hope to visit your home again next year. Feel free to visit us in North Myrtle Beach anytime.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We are glad we found the "Nut House" on VRBO. It has been a great week. We've made special memories and have celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with our two daughters, son-in-law and four grandchildren in this beautiful place and setting. The food at J. Arthur's restaurant was great! Thanks for all the extra's you provided. Wishing you special blessings.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Remember when Dorothy said "there's no place like home"? Well, there is here on Field Mouse Lane. Like my favorite aunt when I was a child, you anticipated our every need. As our children & grandchildren awakened with your hot tub each morning, my husband & I took such pleasure having coffee on the deck & gazing at all of the different birds that appear regularly at your feeders. We are ages 6 to 60 but you seem to e aware that there are different strokes for different folks. Many thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I must say we were all a little bit bummed out when we found out there wasn't going to be any snow during our stay. But the minute we arrived at the house, we had a change of heart. Your house is so warm and welcoming and the view....absolutely breathtaking made up for the lack of snow. I have always wanted a house with a fireplace and your house is exactly what we imagined it would be....PERFECT! Thank you so much for sharing & opening up your home to our family. This will definitely be a Christmas all of us will cherish and remember with a warm smile. Love, The FamilyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
