WE LOVED our girls getaway! The only confusing issue was locking up the house. We had 1 key but only locked the front door. Side door had to remain open. Thank goodness for safe area. Thank you...we will return,.

The house is big and comfortable and the gardens are beautiful. We loved the outdoor living. We were in town for Cal Poly graduation and were very pleased with our experience. It was great to be so close to downtown Paso. The owners were very gracious and accommodating.

There was room for the whole family. Kasey, our daughter was getting married and the downstairs room/family room was the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready. The next morning we had a brunch outside that was wonderful. We look forward to our next stay at the Cottage. Thank you!!!

We had a groupp of 12 stay in this beautiful house for a weekend getaway. The location is convenient to downtown and central to Paso's many wineries. The house is well-kept with a picturesque white picket fence, outside patio areas, and adorable rooms. Staying here was easy - all the linens were taken care of, the keys were waiting for us upon arrival, and the check-out process was quick and painless. We loved our stay here and can't wait to return.

Stayed in the house with 11 family members who are not familiar with renting homes for vacations. Everyone was very impressed with the accomodations and the beautiful yard with plenty of different sitting areas around the grounds. Everyone was impressed with the amenties in the kitchen and large dining table to accomodate up to 12 people. My daughter (28 mths) enjoyed her Easter Egg hunt on the grounds around the home on Easter morning. House was very close to downtown Paso and a Vons was just 1 mile away. Also very close to various religious churches and freeway access is very convenient. There was also great views from the living room area. Overall we were Very Satified with the home and our stay

We love the garden! We arrived to fresh peppers that we used to make salsa and picked fresh flowers for the dining room. I would and have already recommended this home to friends and would definitely stay again. Thanks for a great vacation!

The Cottage at Capitol Hill was lovely to say the least. The house is very large, with each room unique and quaint. The backyard has beautiful garden paths, and the green shubbery hugging the whole house makes for a warm and cozy environment. I was worried that it would be a far walk from downtown, but it was very close and manageable. There were a few things that could be improved such as the King size bed, which was very, very stiff, and the tub in bathroom upstairs would easily clog up while taking a shower. Other than that it was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend Paso Robles, the Cottage, Paso Robles Vacation Rentals to any of my friends and family. An excellent stay!

My fiancee and I stayed at the Cottage at Capitol Hill with six of our closest friends visiting from the Midwest. I loved the close proximity to downtown Paso Robles and the highway. The neighborhood is slightly "sketchy", but the house is the prettiest on the block. :) The cottage itself is quaint and warm, and has a lot of room for people to make themselves at home. I would recommend other guests looking for a vacation rental to consider this house.

This house was a great place for our family's mini-reunion. It is spacious, and clean, and will have everything you need for a great stay.
Pros--Walkability of the neighborhood, and convenience to downtown PR. The house was very clean, and had plenty of blankets, towels, etc for our long stay. Spacious, comfortable rooms. There were plenty of lovely spaces (indoors and out) to congregate, but there were also places to sit quietly when you needed time alone. There are 3 bathrooms, and all the showers could be used at the same time with no problems. Wi-fi, gorgeous outdoor seating areas, and views.
Cons-- not many. Dining room chairs were a little rickety. The outdoor seating areas are so gorgeous you'll be spending most of your time out there anyway! There doesn't seem to be any air conditioning vents down stairs. The rooms on the lower floor got warm and stuffy if the doors were closed. We remedied this by keeping windows open at night.
neutral-- We did have an incident during our stay where a loud domestic squabble at a neighboring house woke us all up. These things happen, and overall it didn't affect our opinion of PRVR, or the house. The neighborhood felt safe, and I walked around a lot, but if someone in your group is particularly sensitive to this kind of activity, you might want to look elsewhere, or ask some questions to see how often this kind of thing happens there.
I would highly recommend the Cottage at Capitol Hill, and would definitely stay here again, and do business with PRVR.

This place was perfect for what we were looking for. My wife (of 4 days) and I were getting married at Meridian Winery in Paso and needed two rental houses - one for the ladies and one for all the dudes. The five bedrooms easily accommodated 5 couples and my one single buddy stayed in the living room. The place had a huge backyard and lots of gathering places in and out of the house that made for the perfect after wedding party location for about 40 of our friends and family. The management was very helpful and accommodating. Nothing bad to say about this place...I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to accommodate a 10-12 people for a weekend in wine country.

This wonderful home exceeded all our expectations and the owners were absolutely great to deal with. The pictures don't tell the whole story... it is even better then it looks. The pantry was fully stocked with all the spices you could possibly need and there was every pot, pan, dish & glass imaginable. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

Loved the gardens, available books. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Kitchen well-equipped. Looking forward to return trip. Only quibble was various entrances not keyed alike.

Three generations of two families spent most of a week here; four of us were here for the entire week. Because of the layout of the house, we were all able to join together for dinner yet find private time and space when needed. Very clean. Lots of room. Good kitchen for meal prep, large dining room, large living room, large yard with two grills. Walking distance to downtown. Perfect for three or four couples. We will certainly return. Kathy was very helpful in setting up the stay.

We had 12 people in this house for the weekend and we had a great time on the property and in the house itself. There are so many different rooms and areas that we never felt crowded and there was plenty of sleeping accomodations as well. We used the 2 BBQ's and ate outside under the stars. We walked in to town to enjoy the local restuarants, bars and shops. I highly reccomend this rental and would use it again on future trips.

We rented the Cottage on Capitol Hill because our son was getting married that week-end at the Robert Hall Winery. Our children & parents were able to stay with us at the cottage because of the amount of bedrooms. We had the rehearsal dinner in the backyard and was very happy with the set-up. The only downfall was the weather and of course that couldn't be helped. But the bottom level of the house didn't have any air condtioning and it was extremely hot all night long both nights. Our family members that were on that level were pretty miserable both nights even with the doors & windows open. I would rent this property again but not during the summer months unless air conditioning was installed on the bottom level.

The Cottage at Capitol Hill is a beautiful and relaxing place to stay, and Kathy is extremely helpful and friendly. And you can't beat the convenience and ease of this home. We were in town for a wedding, and wanted a home that was close to the downtown area, so we could easily make it to the wedding events. Cottage at Capitol Hill was more than we could hope close to town, yet so calm.

Our group of nine agreed the Cottage on Capital Hill was perfect for our weekend visit to Paso Robles to attend a family wedding. Initially, we were disturbed with the surrounding neighborhood. However, the size, decor, cleanliness, comfort and charm of the property quickly won us over. We appreciated the large well stocked kitchen...pans, dishes, glassware and cooking tools. Everyone loved sitting at the kitchen table and visiting. The outdoor landscaping and view is lovely. We enjoyed coffee outside in the morning and the gentlemen enjoyed wine and cigars in the evening. The bedrooms are comfortable. We were grateful to discover two water heaters for the three nice bathrooms. We hope to return with a large group for a wine tour.

This was a last minute group trip for a birthday celebration and everything was perfect. The house had great common rooms for all of us to sit comfortably and the bedrooms provided enough space and privicy for everyone. The owner Kathy made the entire process easy and I would recommend other friends and family to stay there on their next trip to Paso.

New Year's in Paso Robles

Guest: Jo and Norm
Date of Stay: 12/31/08 Review Submitted: 09/12/11

The house was beautifully maintained and decorated - perfect for 4 couples looking for a little getaway for New Year's Eve. We planned to eat in on that night and were delighted to see the dining table had special candles and festive decorations arranged by the owner. The kitchen was spacious enough for multiple chefs. All the bedrooms had lovely furnishings and two are extremely large. The grounds have several sitting areas, on multiple levels, allowing for enough private space for everyone. We went to Morro Bay on New Year's Day, and toured the local wineries the following day-a perfect holiday! We hope to go back in another season and will definitely recommend this rental to family and friends.

Charming, lovely, perfect

Date of Stay: 11/27/08 Review Submitted: 09/12/11

The light-filled home is charming and extremely comfortable. We spent Thanksgiving and the entire setting had a Rockwell feel to it, particularly the spacious dining room. The kitchen couldn't have been better supplied. The bedrooms were spacious, the bathrooms, as well...with great hot showers. Aside from the house being perfect, the grounds and view were lovely as well. But it was the extra touches that made the stay so delightful: fresh flowers in the kitchen and living room, a welcome-to-our-home bottle of wine. It's all in the details and the owner did not miss one. Thank you.
