The Stagecoach Inn is a newly restored Colonial Home built in 1790. The home is so named because of its use as a Stagecoach stop in the 1700's. It lies in the Historic Village of Poquetanuck named in 1687. The home is newly furnished with an eclectic style of new and antique furniture. It is as comfortable for adults with children as it is for adults without children. Our location is central to the Mystic and More area of Connecticut making any of the sights reachable within 20 minutes.
This home can be rented in one of three ways. The first floor has two bedrooms and can be rented as a stand alone rental. The second floor has three bedrroms and can be rented as a stand alone rental. Or you can rent the entire property with all five bedrooms.
All of the beds are excellent quality pillow tops. Each bed has six pillows. The living room has a Granny's Attic style of sofa that makes into a comfortable queen size bed. The apartment is cleaned twice weekly and additional cleaning can be done for an additional price. Many amenities are furnished making less work in packing for you. There is off street parking for up to four automobiles.
We have discounts for various restaurants and attractions. These include Mystic Seaport, Mystic Marine Life Aquarium and the Pequot Museum.
If you wish to kayak you can do this on Poquetanuck Cove only one block away.
We are also know for servicing the Coast Guard Academy and The Naval Submarine base. Both are within an easy ride.

Year Purchased: 2003
We have been in the lodging business since 1994. We also own two bed and breakfasts incorporated under the name Captain Grant's, 1754. All of our homes are on the National Register of Historic Places. We make all of the perks that our bed and breakfast guests get available to our vacation rental folks. Carol retired in 1995 to open our first inn. Ted retired in 2002 when the second property opened. We now work more hours than ever before but thoroughly enjoy meeting all of the people that come to stay at our homes. God willing, we won't have to retire again for many more years.
Why the Owner Chose Mystic
We purchased the vacation rental so that Carol's sister from MN could move to CT and have a place to live. Arrangements have changed making Stagecoach Inn now available in it's entirety. The home is four doors down from the bed and breakfast making upkeep and availability to our guest very handy for us.

We provide maps and complete concierge service to our guests. We are able to provide catering for a special event and breakfast extraordinaire for an additional price.

Kept increasing the price after what we agreed on

The original price they gave me was the highest price listed on the site which was fine until I got to the house Thursday night for my stay and then they repeatedly kept charging me a higher price then what they agreed on. It was also more then 25% higher then whats written on the site. It was really difficult talking to the owner and he ended up charging me a higher price then we originally agreed on. The house itself was nice, except you need to walk over to another house near by to get the WiFi, there is no WiFi in this house which was also a little deceiving. If you rent this house out, make sure you get a written copy of the price your renting it for before you arrive.

The Stagecoach was a GREAT place. Very quaint and nice. Kitchens well equiped. I even managed to entertain guests while staying there!!

We booked at the very last minute and were more than pleased with what we got! The apartment was very clean and well maintained. Plenty of space for our family--we could have even brought guests! Although we did not use the kitchen very much it was large, clean and well equipted. Great location. 10 minute drive to either casino. 10-15 minutes to all of the Mystic attractions. 20-30 minutes to beautiful beaches. Great hosts. Would highly recommended and will probably return.

Every aspect of our experience with the Stagecoach Inn was joyous. The place was very clean, beds are amazingly comfortable pillow tops, and it was less than a ten minute ride to either casino. The owners were very nice - they made sure we had everything we could possibly need...even all the tools for the grill outside. The property has a nice backyard where we threw a ball around in the afternoon. Without hesitation, I would recommend this place to anyone. It is amazing value, too.
