I think we can all agree that a beach house should be close to the beach! The oceanfront can be very expensive and the back island is too far to walk. Oceanwoods is the perfect solution and our Oceanwoods Cottage is the ideal location for a great Kiawah Island vacation!
OCEANWOODS
Oceanwoods is a very popular Kiawah Island neighborhood for families who love a cottage near the beach. Secluded, at the end of Eugenia Avenue, it is close enough to walk to Night Heron Park or bike to other island amenities. The main attraction is the close proximity to an uncrowded part of the beach. Our cottage, 468 Oceanwoods, is a very short walk to the beach. You can actually hear the surf from the cottage.
THE COTTAGE
Our cottage has three bedrooms and two full baths. The master and one of the guest bedrooms each have a queen size bed. The other guest bedroom has two twins. Total occupancy is six. The cottage features a fully equipped kitchen, dining/ living room, screened porch and sun deck. We have a charcoal grill just off the deck. It has cable TV, high speed internet with Wi-Fi, BluRay, washer, dryer and dish washer. It is all set up for you when you get there. Linens are provided and your exit cleaning is included with a weekly rental. Our cottage offers everything you could want for a relaxing, restful vacation. And it’s all just a short walk to the beach.
RESORT AMENITIES
On the question of pool access. We are not a 'resort managed' property and Oceanwoods does not have a community pool so there is no pool access for our guests. All other resort amenities such as golf, tennis and nature and kid's programs are available ($). If access to a (crowded, noisy) public pool is a must for you, sorry, we can't help. What we can and do offer is free, unlimited access to the nearby Atlantic Ocean and a relaxing, convenient location from which to base your explorations of the unique island of Kiawah.

Great place to stay! Highlights: 1. Just a short stroll to the beach 2. Very clean and well appointed beach house 3. Great communication from the owners who even called to check on us because a tropical storm was moving up the coast. 4. Rosebank Farms Cafe 5. Biking to the end of the island to see the dolphins 6. early morning walks on the beach 7. Scoopers for ice cream 8. Playing in the surfRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I had a really wonderful time on Kiawah and in this cottage. The trip was everything I had hoped for in a vacation! My husband and I drove down from New England with our teenage daughter and dog. The cottage was a perfect home base for everything we did. It had everything we needed, was close to the beach, and was very, very comfortable. The space was better than in the pictures. The transactions and communications with the owner were seemless by phone and internet. I wouldn't hesitate to return again or recommend to anyone else.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The location is of course outstanding - right by the beach, quiet street and nice surroundings. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well stocked for the essentials of a home away from home. When I returned home after our 4 day stay I felt like I'd been gone 2 weeks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, girls getaway.

We've been coming to Kiawah Island for several years and this time we found the perfect place! Fantastic location in a quiet neighborhood, super short walk to beach, and you can hear the ocean from the cottage. The cottage itself was spacious with a nice open layout, very clean, and has all the amenities you need. The owner Paul was professional while also being very friendly and helpful. i have to thank the owners of this wonderful cottage. It was the perfect place for Us and our boys(3 and 5) We had a wonderful time as did our children. There was plenty to do and see and everything was close by. The cottage was spotless everything was in it's perfect place. Over all a very pleasant place. As a matter of fact our 3 rd day there we decided to book for next year. I made the reservations for next year. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating and professional. what a perfect place to have memories of your young children and your family enjoying the beach and surroundings.Thank you very much for making this a week to remember. We very much enjoyed the week in Kiawah. The cottage is very accessible to the beach. Our pooches had a great time too. the cottage is very comfortable and just the right size for 3 couples and 2 pooches. we cooked 3 of 4 nights in the cottage and found the kitchen worked very well. the owner was very helpful throughout the whole process and answered questions promptly. We will be back. i highly suggest this property to anyone.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

We had a great time at Kiawah. Thanks for sharing your cottage, we found it to be exceptionally neat/clean. The cottage was just what we needed and more. It was in a beautifully landscaped area and a very short walk to the beach. The owner was exceptionally friendly and helpful when providing prompt/thorough information in response to our e-mails. I would definitely recommend a stay at this Oceanwoods Cottage. During our stay, we did a lot of walking, both beach and trails. We also spent much time in Charleston and the surrounding area. There is so much to do. I only regret not having time to kayak the island's waterways and take the Haunted Tour of Charleston by boat.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

Thank you for renting your wonderful cottage to us! We felt right at home and had such a fun and relaxing time. The walking trail to the beach was so close and so easy to get all four of our small children to each day. The cottage is so family friendly and it was great to be able to let the children run around the cottage and not worry about breaking knick knacks, etc.! The beach was perfect and never over crowded. With 4 children under the age of 5, it was easy for us to relax and manage everyone! Kiawah is such a beautiful island and the proximity to Charleston was really great. We enjoyed the beach every day, took many bike rides on the island and took a couple day trips to the South Carolina Aquarium and Children's Museum. Our family had a wonderful time and it was a great end to our summer. Scoops & the Nature Center were a huge hit with the children and Fresh Fields Village was perfect for shopping!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Once again we had the perfect family vacation in your cottage! The location is perfect for beach-going and bike riding and our family did plenty of both! We saw quite a few deer and several large alligators while biking and each afternoon we watched the dolphins play in the ocean. BEAUTIFUL! We enjoyed a day in Charleston as well as a minor league baseball game( just a short drive from the island). The house was spotless and comfortable and we look forward to returning next summer!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Well I enjoy doing all the exact same things when I'm at Kiawah. About the only thing on my list that was not mentioned was surf casting off the beach. Occasionally I actually catch something!

Why the Owner Chose Oceanwoods Cottage:
There is something about Kiawah... When you go there you just don't want to leave. If you can you buy a piece of it. Then you have to figure out how to make it work. Sharing it with other families through renting helps.

Even though I work my butt off cleaning, repairing and maintaining whenever I go there I do find time to just relax and have fun and that it makes it all worthwhile!
