We had another wonderful stay at Waters Edge! This time our college age kids came with us and just loved it! We fished, went swimming in the lake and had campfires every night. In the mornings we would sit in the hot tub, life is so good there! We also enjoyed yard games in the park next door. The way everything is set up inside and outside at Waters Edge makes for a very relaxing week on the water! This is our 3rd trip and there is always something new to check out at Waters Edge. Randy and Mary are the best owners and are always so great to work with! And they keep Waters Edge up dated and clean, with lots of little extras you might need for your stay! Thank You again Randy and Mary for a wonderful stay!!!!! Can't wait to come back in the fall!!!!

I've stayed at Water's Edge for trips with friends twice and it has been incredible! Mary is very helpful and responds to emails very very quickly. The house is beautiful (I love the renovated kitchen and bathroom) and it's perfect for a friends vacation, or family getaway. Only a few hours from Chicago and close to the Dells. Great Place! Can't wait to come back!

This was our second stay at this place and as always it was awesome!!! The house is big and clean and you can find everything you need there. The location is perfect and the view is great! The owner is very friendly and very pleasant to deal with. We were there in a winter time, so we also enjoyed some winter activities, such as snowmobiling, skiing and just walking and playing outside. Our family, friends and dogs enjoyed the stay so much and were very happy! Thank you, Mary!!!

What a great place the Water's Edge Retreat is! The positive experience began with my first email to Mary who was very prompt in replies and very easy to work with to get our stay locked down. We were lucky enough to find Labor Day weekend open on fairly short notice! My wife and I, my parents and my brother and his two young kids had plenty of space. The three bedrooms are all good sized and well appointed. The living quarters are immaculate and the deck, hot tub and boat dock are awesome as well. Upon arrival, we found a couple of nice welcome gifts that were certainly appreciated. It is apparent the Mary and Randy know what it takes to satisfy guests and they go above and beyond! HIghly recommended!

Water's Edge was such a nice home to stay at for our vacation. Every amenity was thought of and the home was so clean and nicely decorated. Waking up every morning to such a gorgeous view was breathtaking. Being that we were there towards the end of summer, we had a few cool nights and the hot tub was wonderful and relaxing. The guys fished off the dock every day and caught several kinds of fish. Mary was a pleasure to deal with and helped make this vacation so enjoyable. We loved our stay and are certainly hoping to come back.

Our family just spent a week at Water's Edge! What a wonderful vacation!!! This house is amazing and one of the best that I've found on Home Away. The house is well equipped with everything you could ever need.... the views of the lake are breathtaking thru the living room windows. The location is fantastic - just 2 plus hours from our Illinois home. Mary and Randy take great pride in their home and treat their guests very well!! The hot tub is wonderful! I highly recommend this home very highly!

My friends and I had an amazing time at Water's Edge over a long weekend getaway. The house was gorgeous and beautifully updated, huge deck with a lot of seating, nice hot tub, fenced-in yard for the dog to run around, etc. Mary, the owner, was absolutely wonderful and helpful. We hope to be back next year!

The Waters Edge Retreat was like home but with an amazing view...we didn't want to leave. The home was beautiful, organized and very comfortable. Everything we needed was at our fingertips. The large, updated kitchen made it easy for us to stay in and cook every meal. The surrounding area was very easy to navigate around to stores and activities. The residents of Wisconsin were very friendly and willing to help a visitor with fishing tips and directions. The boat ramp and bait shop were very close and the location on the lake was incredible. Mary was a pleasure to work with and was very accommodating. This was our first experience with renting a home and I have to say this has set a Gold Standard and we will be back to the Waters Edge Retreat.

This was our first trip to Waters Edge. Everything was so wonderful at the lake house. Randy and Mary have an awesome place to take a vacation. They care so much about your vacation and have taken great care inside and out to make it a great time on the lake. Everything was very nice, updated, and clean. The kitchen has all updated appliances and everything we needed for cooking alone with a nice big gas grill just outside the kitchen door. All the furniture and beds and linens are extra nice and updated! The hot tub is big, very clean and what a great view. It is very relaxing! We found lots of extra details at Waters Edge like all the lighting. You must check out the outside spot lights on the trees and lake at night and all the track lighting inside the house is something to see. The last night we were there we found the up lights in the big kitchen windows, they are very cool! We loved our stay and are coming back! We highly recommend Waters Edge! Your vacation is in very good hands with Randy and Mary! The best owners we have ever worked with!!!! A big thank you to both of them for making our 30th Wedding Anv. SO WONDERFUL!!!

Waters Edge is a wonderful getaway. Very clean and organized - easy to find - beautiful views. The only thing that I would have liked more is if there were two bathrooms. The shower was also quite small and I'm a small person - I would think a large person would have a very hard time moving around. Besides that small detail - everything else was great! Thanks to Mary and Randy for opening up their home for others to enjoy!

Randy and Mary are amazing hosts! From the moment we walked into the cabin we knew it would be a good weekend. The cabin looks exactly like the pictures, it was clean and beautifully decorated. A bottle of red wine awaited our arrival. The view from the windows is amazing, even in the winter! Everything was precisely organized and if you didn't understand how to work something there was an instruction list easily at hand. The outdoor area was amazing, we want to come back during the summer so we can use it! Even in the dead of winter we used the hot tub and... it was very relaxing. As far as setting up the trip and payments, Mary and Randy are quick to respond, and made the experience painless and easy. The entire set up occurred over the internet and went off without a hitch. We are hoping to stay there again in the near future. Mary and Randy, thank you for an amazing stay!

This is our 2nd trip up for girl's weekend to Waters Edge and this is by far one of the best rentals that we have ever been to. It was very clean, great location and the owner's are so well organized and helpful - any questions we had, they had answers to and also provide information on places to go and things to do. This house has everything in it that you could possibly need and they are continually making updates to make this an even greater place to stay...if that is even possible. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

I couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend a winter weekend getaway with my friends. There were nice little touches around the house that made it feel like home. The view of the lake was fantastic and the open concept living room, dining area, and kitchen made it easy to socialize with everybody. We had a great stay and would definitely return.

We just came back from staying at Waters Edge for 4 nights and had an awesome time! It is absolutely beautiful and we will definitely be back! The owner was very helpful and so accommodating! The location is close to many attractions. We went to the WI Dells and went horseback riding, to a five star restuarant in Madison with a view of the capital, to Devils Lake (beautiful), and Wollersheim Winery for a tour. Then we just relaxed fishing of the pier, having a burn (plenty of wood there), and soaking in the hot tub under the stars! I definitely recommend going here for your next vacation! Thank you so much for all of your help! Your awesome!

What a great house!!!! Our group of 6 had an awesome time! The house has everything you need and is not far from supplies. The lake is beautiful and even though we didn't catch any fish we still had a great time trying! The house is located right on the lake.... the deck is a perfect place to hang out all day long.... from the first cup of morning coffee to the last glass of wine in the evening. We enjoyed using the hot tub on our tired old bones and cooking out on the outdoor grill. The home is located right between Madison and The Dells so there is always plenty to do away from the home. My friends and I can't wait to go back!

We have rented several vacation homes in the past 8 years and this ranks as the best. The house was clean, comfortable, updated applicances and furniture and had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing stay. The owners are very helpful with any questions or concerns and were easy to get in touch with when we had a bad storm come in that kinocked down a neigbors tree on to their property. We caught over 100 fish off the dock and enjoyed our boat rides around the lake. The hot tub was awesome. The Wisconsin Dells are close by and we visited there several times but the amenitites close the home were also very nice. We even went to a local parade in Lodi that was very quaint. We highly recommend this home.

From the time you open the door, until the time you leave, you will have experienced one of the true gems of lake living. Relax, and float, fish, hot tub, go for a boat ride, all the amenities that make your stay special. Enjoy evenings of peace and quiet as you sit on the deck, and watch the world go by. You may even catch a glimpse of an eagle cruising by. Go for a boat ride and see the expanse of Lake Wisconsin, and the Wisconsin river. It was amazing to be in our fishing boat and see the depths of the different areas of the lake and river. There are plenty of areas to explore, and restaurants to try. Our evenings were spent, after sunset, to watch movies on the 52" television with bowls of popcorn. The home is secluded in a way that you can walk around in your swimsuit and not feel like a geek. It was fun. The best part for us was sharing and reconnecting with our family! PS The home is pet friendly, we brought our 6-1/2 year old golden retriever, which we brought her crate for when we were away, who enjoyed the lake, and sat on the deck with us.
Owner response:Kathy - we're glad that you and your family had such a good time at Water's Edge Retreat this summer and look forward to having you back. Summer of 2011 reservations open up in October - I'll be in touch then! Thank you, Mary & Randy

We rented the pontoon boat for our entire stay and had a blast on the lake every day! We had some good luck fishing and had a wonderful fish fry at the end of our stay. We spent the week prior to the 4th of July at Water's Edge. We had a fabulous time! The house was spectacular and the lake was great for cruising along in the pontoon. I would say it was great for fishing, but we didn't have any luck. We had my parents, my husband's parents and our two small children. We had plenty of room and really enjoyed all of the little touches Mary and Randy provided (toy chest, books, movies, welcome binder with local informatio). Highly recommend Water's Edge for a relaxing get-away.

My fiancee and I had the most relaxing vacation we could have asked for. The house is immaculately clean and has all the amenities you could ask for. A lake right outside your windows, a Hot Tub, a big deck, a Hammock, a Fire Pit for making s'mores at night, premium cable, not to mention the 52" HD plasma flat screen, and high speed internet. The location of the home is quiet. The entire time we were there we did not see a soul except for a few people who were riding their boats. To make things even better, Mary is the most pleasant and accommodating owner I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She answered all of my questions and then some, and will go out of her way to help in any way. There is nothing you will be wanting for when you stay at Water's Edge. We were pleasantly surprised and we will definitely be back.

What a relaxing vacation. The house was perfect. The boat was great. I thought coming the end of August the weather would be nice and hot, I was wrong. By the end of week the high temp was 59 during the day and 40's at night. If you stay at this place you must eat at Fritz's, great fish fry. So many places to go see. I would come back in a minute. Thanks Mary and Randy for the gift when we arrived. I hope to return in a few years.

We stayed at Water's Edge for our first summer vacation with our infant son. Our experience was perfect in every way. Mary went out of her way to help us plan our visit - she answered our (many!) questions about the area, found infant care items so we would not need to travel with them, even helped us search for flights! The house was perfect for a true escape from daily life, from the hot tub to the hammock to the premium cable to the wireless internet. The street on which Water's Edge is located is secluded, and we rarely saw anyone else while we were there. This was great for us because no one bothered our small baby and we didn't bother anyone else! While at Water's Edge, here are the tough decisions we had to make: Morning coffee on the deck or at the end of the dock? Star-gazing from the fire-pit or the hot tub? Light jacket or not (temps: 60s-70s! in August!)? Should the hammock be used for napping or reading? One s'more or two? I would recommend cooking most of your meals at the house. We tried to go to a couple of the local restaurants, but the ones we tried were bar-type joints that allowed smoking (not the best if you have small kids!). We visited Sassy Cow Creamery. They have the *best* ice cream! Definitely worth the scenic drive. We also ate brunch one morning at Marigold Kitchen in Madison = A++!! Water's Edge quickly became our home. We definitely plan to go back!

My friends and I came up here mainly to enjoy the 52-inch plasma tv and hot tub during the opening weekend of the NCAA basketball tournament a few weeks ago. And we couldn't have been more thrilled with our experience! Everything is exactly as it is described and looks just like the pictures. The place was spotless when we arrived and instructions for getting the key and getting in were very clear and very easy. The owner was also extremely helpful at all points in the process; returned e-mails quickly and was only too happy to answer any and all questions in great detail. Absolutely no hidden charges and my deposit was returned to me within 5 days. Couldn't have gone smoother and we will definitely be back!

We were at the home for 3 nights in march. The home was everything as described and more. The home was very clean and well maintained. Great contact with the owner Mary and I would definately recommend this home to a friend, we may even try to get back in the summer. We drove to the Dells twice which took about 20 minutes and also went to ski at Devils head resort, which also took about 20 minutes or so. The home is not too far of the expressway, which we found very convenient. The owers had everything we forgot, napkins, zip lock bags etc.

This was the most relaxing get-away you could ask for! The home was very welcoming and comfortable. All the details were taken care of, so we didn't have to worry about anything besides food and drink. We spent most of our time in the home cooking our own meals, sitting in front of the cozy fireplace, or taking a dip in the hot tub. We even got to be kids again when we played the Nintendo and watched one of our Disney movies that we brought. It is a very peaceful area, and a great location right on the water. There are a few bars on the lake that we want to try the next time we go back. And since the snow was a little difficult to deal with at Devils Lake, we will definately go back there with our dog to walk the trails. And speaking of our dog, she absolutely loved it! They have dog biscuits on the counter, and plenty of room for her to roam. The hosts were very easy and pleasant to work with. This was last minute planning for us, and Mary helped speed up the process with the deposit, payment and refund. They also put together an extensive booklet guide for visitors with the 'what to see and do' in the area. We will definately be back! Ken, Cindy and Scout

There was a group of 6 of us who stayed at Water's Edge. The house was so nice and had everything we needed (there were things up there we never even thought would be in the cubboards - ice cream maker - if it wasn't so cold we would have made ice cream)! We had such a great time: grilling out, relaxing in front of the fire place, sitting in the hot tub at night when it was about 7 degrees, the guys tried ice fishing but had no luck. We would totally recommend this place to anyone! We're already looking for dates in the fall so we can come up again! This place is great for every age!

The owners' hospitality was outstanding, everything from the complimentary bottle of wine to the labeled drawers and detailed instructions for things.... we loved the views, the hot tub (we made snow angels and then jumped back in!), the quiet, the fireplace - it was all surreal and provided much serenity. Thank you so much for provided a lovely and homey atmosphere for a getaway!

(Our Stay: 12/26/07 to 01/05/08) I cannot say enough about this beautiful home & the wonderful family that owns it. First of all, the photos just can't do this home justice! It is beautiful and so comfortable. The living room is large & cozy with a fireplace, soft sofas, and a HUGE big screen flat panel television with Bose surround sound! My husband was in heaven watching this TV! For the person who loves electronics & high tech toys, this house has it! The Wi-Fi internet connection was wonderful. We would kick back on the sofa with our laptop & Google the local attractions, restaurants, and such to plan our day of fun. We had brought our I-pods on vacation and we were able to play them on the I-Pod docking station. It just had everything we could possibly need! In addition, the beds were comfortable, the house was spotless, great heating....I even loved the dishes (snowman stoneware!) They have EVERYTHING labeled so you know exactly which switch controls what, how to turn on the hot tub (was heavenly by the way). It was so neat & organized. We were impressed! As for the owners, Mary & Randy were wonderful to get to know. We had many e-mail conversations prior to our stay and they sent us lots of tips regarding what to do & see while we visited Wisconsin. They are just wonderful people. You can really tell that they take pride in their home. They even had a sweet welcome gift for EACH of us when we arrived. I've never gotten that at any home rental before! I have to say, on our other vacations, the house was just a place to stay while we enjoyed the local attractions. This house however, we considered it to BE one of the attractions. In fact, there were a few days we just stayed at Water's Edge & enjoyed the peace & tranquility. For the first time, I came back home rested after a vacation versus the usual exhaustion. We highly recommend this family & their home and we look forward to staying with them again!! Thank you!!
