Warm and welcoming retreat close to downtown

Our hostess, Mary, communicated well, warmly and promptly, and took a genuine interest in our comfort and convenience. She's created a warm, relaxing, immaculately clean condo decorated beautifully with art and artifacts from the international travel she and her husband have done professionally. We loved the gorgeous art work from Nepal. The rooms are much larger than they appear on the VRBO site photos. Watching the morning sun light up the Flatirons was a daily treat. We visited Boulder to help our daughter through a somewhat difficult pregnancy. (She had a healthy girl!) Therefore, we were delighted to find such a well-equipped kitchen. Boulder has great restaurants, of course, but since we stayed almost eight weeks, were on a tight budget and love to cook, we rarely ate out, so we appreciated the manifold cooking tools, wide selection of pots and pans, sharpened cutlery, casserole dishes, coffee maker, blender and more. The washer and dryer in a discreet closet were certainly convenient. We could easily walk to the market or to the Pearl Street mall. Varying our routes, we enjoyed the architectural details of a historic neighborhod. We found other walks that gave us excellent views of the Flatirons and of Boulder. There's a lovely spot on the hill behind the condo with chairs and a settee, where we could sit and enjoy a great view of the Flatirons, especially as the sun set. We found the large bedroom quiet and tranquil. The neighbors in the condo building and the surrounding homes were friendly, helpful and quiet. We'd recommend this rental without hesitation. Our best recommendation for activities is walking through the historic neighborhoods in North Boulder or hiking the trails around Chatauqua. If you're fit, you can walk over to Mt. Sanitas and hike those trails, enjoying the plants, geology and views. Otherwise, drive over there and do enjoy those trails. The natural beauty deserves your attention.
