Hale Ho'ola, "house to see the sun" is located directly above Sunset Beach. This Villa offers spectacular views of some of the best surf spots and whale viewing in the world. This brand new luxury home was built with multi-family use in mind. With great outdoor lanais, an open floor plan for social gatherings and yet private getaways for quiet relaxing.
Designed to accommodate six to eight children and six adults in beds with additional sleeping in the loft. This home features vaulted ceilings, mahogany doors and windows, and exotic hand crafted wood-work throughout. There is a full kitchen with a great room including a large kitchen island, concrete counters, copper sinks, walk in pantry, a 13' hand crafted dining table and an 18' ocean view bar. The home's indoor/outdoor use includes floor to ceiling, mahogany incased glass doors that slide out of the way, shady lanais, secluded garden getaways, the deepest pool on the Island with attached hot tub and spectacular views at every turn.
The kids will find refuge in a ship style 'bunk room' with six individual bunks including their own authentic ships portholes, reading lights and privacy curtains, individual storage lockers, TV, outdoor pool access all of which is located a safe (sound proof) distance from the main living area. Revi's room offers its own private deck with direct views from 'Revelations' tow-in surf spot to beautiful sunsets over Kaena Point. This room offers a king size bed and private bathroom. The Pool Studio is a secluded getaway. Tucked away from the main house, this room offers everything needed to complete your stay: pool side and ocean views, travertine shower, copper sink and Balinese vanity, kitchenette and small office/desk with wireless access. The palm room is located right off the main kitchen with its own private bathroom, garden view and access to the backyard.
The house is located on a private cul-de-sac road and is entirely fenced with an automatic gate for privacy. The decks have beautiful copper panels with artistic Hawaiian breadfruit silhouettes. The main house is surrounded with Ohia log posts from the big island. Everywhere you turn this house offers something special to see; from the oiled ship style railings, hand crafted sconces, authentic ship portholes, to the spectacular views, you won't be disappointed.
The beds are covered with a minimum of 450 thread count linens and each bedroom, complete with ceiling fans, has its own bathroom with imported tile or hand crafted redwood showers. Bali style vanities with copper sinks and all showers have a porthole window, a corner window or a skylight for added light and viewing. All bathrooms come stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap as well as beach towels. There is even an outdoor shower, tiled with imported travertine, surrounded by tropical landscaping and, of course, complete with hot water.
From the bedrooms, deck, lanai, pool/hot tub, or great-room (basically if you have eyes) you can check the surf at several different locations including; "Kammieland", "Sunset", "Sunset Point", "Backyards", "Revelations". Also located close by are; "Bonsai Pipeline", "Rocky Point", "Alligators" and "Waimea Bay". You are only a short walk to Sunset beach, and you can easily walk to Ted's Bakery for breakfast or lunch, a fresh baked island treat or indulge in their delicious homemade pies. The bike/walking path is just a short distance away and takes you from Sunset Point all the way to Waimea Bay and waterfall, which meanders 3 1/2 miles along the beach. Foodland is only a few minutes away and that's where you will find groceries and a Starbucks which opens at 5:30 in the morning for the early risers. Owner Description
We are a family that loves to spend time together both being active and relaxing. We also enjoy spending time with friends and family so we built this house taking all of this into our design. We love to surf, bike ride, hike, walk, swim and relax together. The house allows us to be together when we want to but also has enough spaces to sneak away to read a book alone when we choose.
Why the Owner Chose Sunset Beach
We love the North Shore of Oahu because of it's country like setting: no hotels in sight. The people are very friendly, healthy and fun. The area is full of outdoor activities, if you so choose, or it can be extremely quiet and relaxing. Although it is in 'the country,' it is only a short 3 miles to Turtle Bay where we can play tennis, golf, bike, ride horses, visit the spa or have a wonderful fine dining experience. It's 6 miles into Haliewa town to visit lots of cute shops, dine or rent water equipment. We have developed some truly wonderful friendships with local families and feel this is really our home away from home.
The Unique Benefits of this House
This house allows for 3 families to vacation together and have enough room to really relax and enjoy your vacation. The house has great views and is so open that even when you are inside cooking or relaxing in the living room, you can have conversations with people playing ping pong, lounging on the pool deck or in the pool/hot tub. The house also has enough spread out spaces that you can escape to read quietly if you choose. You can also take a bike ride, walk to the beach or head to Ted's Bakery for a morning treat.

Our family spent a wonderful, relaxing week at this beautiful home. We would definitely recommend it to any family as a great base for exploring the North Shore. In our party there were 7 adults and our 1 year old granddaughter. The kitchen was well equiped and we enjoyed cooking on the BBQ and taking advantage of the breeze and view. We also were glad we took Katie's advise and stopped at Costco on the way to get most of our food for the week. Close by was a beautiful beach within walking distance. There is also a great bike path where my son went riding with our granddaughter. We took advantage of the snorkling nearby as well as paddleboarding. Great fun. Also it was super to have the pool at the house. One night Irma gave us a tip about a truck nearby which had great pizza called "Impossible Pizza". We tried it and it was really good! We have lots of travels ahead with our family but would absolutely come back to this house. Thankyou Katie.

We stayed at this amazing, gorgeous house at Christmas. We are still talking about this stunning house. Everything, inside and out is magnificent. I loved waking up every morning and drinking my coffee surrounded by beautiful things looking at the beautiful view. Kitchen was wonderful to look at and work in. There is every dish and pot you can possibly want. Bedrooms lovely and separate. We put very tall twenty somethings in the bunk beds and not only were they comfortable they loved them. The owners went above and beyond to help us with our trip. They were responsive and informative. I have visited this area many times before and this was by far the best house I have ever rented. I highly recommend this house.

The house was perfect for our large group of 4 families, including 6 kids - mostly teenagers. The location and view are amazing, and the house is very special. The kids especially enjoyed the pool, and we all enjoyed hanging out on the deck, in the wonderful open living room and sharing meals at the large and beautiful dining room table. Katie and Einar; Thanks for everything you did to make our vacation at Hale Ho'ola so memorable! Your descriptions of the house and community gave us high expectations but the reality we encountered exceeded all of them! We brought another family with us and even with all of us there, we easily had plenty of room and privacy to accommodate all our activities. Ralph and Ginger were so helpful and wonderful people to get to know. The amenities were outstanding and we found everything we needed in the house to make our stay hassle free. Your insights in designing the house to accommodate such large groups of people was evident in sooo many ways. I just don't know how one could improve on a hassle free vacation in such a beautiful spot! There is just so much to do on North Shore and if one just wants to take it easy, the pool and spa are great stress relievers. Rest assured we will be back! Bob, Debbie, Kristin and Rob.

Our recent stay was from 5/27 to 6/3/2009. We all had such a great time in the Hale Ho'Ola House. We all fell in love with the house from looking at the pictures and loved it even more when we got to stay in it. The kids loved having their own special bunk beds. The pool/spa is so nice to come back to after a long day at the beach. My husband especially loved the professional kitchen with a magnificent view of the ocean and sunsets. I loved all the details in the house; the copper sinks, the bunk beds, the tables and lamps, the wood bathrooms, the double shower bathroom is so gorgeous too, many, many mirrors through out the house. Every room had something special which makes the house so charming. The kitchen and all the rooms were so well stocked and so clean. The owner responded to my many questions promptly and provided lots of helpful information which made our vacation an awesome experience right from the beginning. Staying at the Hale Ho'Ola House was truly a paradise.

We rented this home for a full week mid August. The house was large and very comfortable for our party of 8. We had lazy mornings with big breakfasts and coffee, spent days on the beautiful beaches of the North Shore, and in the evening we could not tear ourselves away from some of the most amazing views I've ever seen while sitting in the kitchen. We cooked full dinners, listened to music, and drank wine. The pool and hot tub was perfect for our group and provided enjoyment for our children ages 15-9 as well as adults when it got to hot. The owners of this home provided so many needed items in the kitchen that really helped us to feel at home. I never once said "o we need ....." I was able to find it within. Thank you for that! I would recommend this house to anyone that wants the comfort of home while on vacation in the most beautiful state in the country.

Katie & Einar, I just want to tell you that we had the most wonderful trip to Oahu and your house is absolutely fabulous! Words cannot even describe the view, the house and the awesome time we had. We got there at approximately 1 am on Sunday the 24^th . Of course, we could not see much but the house was all lit up, as you said it would be, and we finally settled down and went to bed, although most of us were up at 5 taking pictures and already planning a trip in 2 years. As the week went on, we were more impressed with everything. The house is more than we ever expected (even better than the pictures on the internet). We loved the fact that we were able to have all that space and not confined to a hotel room. We were close enough to the beach and the North Shore is the best place to be even thought we had to make quite a drive to do the “touristy” things. We opened the house up, as you said we could do, and did not close it at all.Ginger and Ralph were the best! They were so friendly and helpful with any and all questions we had. We thoroughly enjoyed them. You could not have anyone better to oversee your house.We would like to book a week in June of 2009, either the 2^nd or 3^rd week. Let me know what we need to do.We hated to leave your paradise. Hi Katie, Everything was simply amazing! We loved it! No complaints at all. Ralph and Ginger were very friendly and very helpful. Your instructions were perfect. I loved how everything was clearly labeled. And your house is breath taking. I am a fairly critical and analytical person but I am having a hard time coming up with any useful feedback. There were almost no mosquitoes, even when we left the doors open at night.1 night there was a swarm of moths that died and littered the swimming pool. But once the waterfall kicked in, it essentially cleaned itself. When we first arrived, the airline lost our bags. I was very upset. But when we first laid eyes on your home... seriously... all the tension from dealing with the airports went away. And I was relaxed! Even though I didn't have any of my things! Luckily we received our bags 2 days later. But I wanted you to know that just the beauty of your home alone was enough to avert a potential bad start to our trip. We would all stay there again. And will highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Hawaii! Katie, thank you so much for everything! John
